I was sure that Portishead was going to be there last year, so I got tickets. Unfortunately, I had to back out at the last minute last year due to a mandatory work-related convention, so I fully plan on going this year.
Hoping for: Cut Copy Depeche Mode Spiritualized Saint Etienne New Order Metric My Bloody Valentine Everything But The Girl
The last two are just larks, but if they happen, I'm sold. Plus, I live an hour and a half away from Asheville. No excuses this year.

I love The Cure, but aren't they too big for Moog? Civic Center isn't all that big, and none of the previous headliners have been nearly that big of a draw.
I regretted not going last year, I was debating Lolla or Moog for this year. I've decided on Moog.
I'm debating this too. But waiting for lineups before I decide. When does moogfest usually release their lineup?
Lineup came out the week before bonnaroo. it was on a wedenday. I will never forget that day. all day, all i could think about was that lineup (even more then going to bonnaroo the next week), my favorite initial lineup ever. And then they made addition:D (caugh caugh flying lotus caugh). Those additions keep coming too. it seemed like they would never top the line up off, they just keep coming and coming. so much awesomeness i had to make the most decisions i have ever had to make but I knew i couldn't go wrong with whatever i decided.
This is hands down my favorite festival. If its a camping festival then its WAY better then a none camping one, unless it's moogfest. Looking back at the first year I really didn't like the line up but still hands down the best fest I had been too. Then this years lineup blew my mind. My friends and I got a cabin and it was worth every penny i threw towards it. Best weekend ever.
I remember last year the initial lineup did NOTHING for me, I wasnt impressed at all. So I just canceled out Moogfest, then the additions came out and it was amazing.

Yeah, the early lineup didn't sell me either. And then the additions came...
I spent the entire weekend reading about how awesome Moog was from a convention hotel room. That was one of the few times I really, really hated my job.

And screw Cut/Copy.....give me Friendly Fires!
Yeah, the additions blew my mind. Flying lotus was a dream. What about the 2010 lineup phi?
I loved the 2010 lineup also. And I had every intention of going last year, until I flew to Las Vegas in early September to see two nights of Deadmau5 and ID Festival and on top of 4 nights of drunken gambling spent every dime to my name.
If you go this year, be sure to go to the civic center early to get your wristband before going and seeing shows! You have to exchange your tix for a wristband. They have early check in on thursday and open early friday i think.
A) This long is long right before shows start on friday, REALLY LONG! we missed beak> an act my friend wanted to see and that. B) I heard alot of people saying they just came from other venues, missing shows, all cause they went straight to those venues for the first show without getting a wristband. they would not let them in.

We all know this in not the real story, what goes on in vegas, stays in vegas

We went early on Friday, I don't recall them giving out wristbands on Thursday. So we walked in within 3-4 minutes.
I'll be doing the hotel again. The cabin folks seemed to have a great time but it made more sense for me to be able to walk everywhere.
The cabin was so much fun and so nice. We had a hot tub outside and tons of drinks, food, and music inside. It was incredibly affordable too with all of us splitting it. I think this year we might go the downtown route just because it will be so much easier to get to the venues and back. Luckily SFA loaned us his ride last time and VV gave us a ride in or we would have been stuck. Tronik had a hotel on tunnel road and they had a free shuttle. She took us to a couple places and it was really nice as well
