Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
^I did not know that it was a British vs. American thing, I'd never heard that. The guy I worked under was American but he pronounced the group as one singular unit, but told me other music journalists (presumably in the States) disagreed with him on that point.
This site backs me up - but more importantly, it proves that either way is acceptable! (Yay for hair-splitting!) ;D
Yeah, the British usage of plurals drives me bonkers sometimes. I prefer most of their grammar rules & spelling ("the colour grey") but "Sport" is typically singular even when it refers to multiple types of athletics. What rubbish!
OK, we now return to our regularly scheduled Moog-specific programming, already in progress. Class dismissed.
Oh, I wasn't saying I didn't believe you. I just didn't know the British/American aspect of it. Made sense when I read it, though, since weird, confusing grammatical situations like this in English often boil down to a British style vs. an American style.
It seems like this rule or set of rules is not quite as steadfast as other rules, though, and is particularly flexible when it comes to music journalism and/or sentences about bands, especially when you're talking about what sounds natural. Like with kyejwe and myself, I think the tendency is to move towards what sounds natural--if the band name is a singular thing, it's natural to refer to it as singular and if the band name is plural, it's natural to refer to it as plural.
So last year, I was at Voodoo the same weekend as Moog. I had a total blast in NO, but this year I think I may try to convince the Edwards to do Moog instead. ...we got the early bird tix for Voodoo, but.... I hear this was just SO fun in '11!!! So yeah. when this lineup drops, hopefully it will blow Voodoo out of the water and I can try another fest.

Welcome back Bonz, but I do not find it strange that your presence being requested in the Orgy thread and then you showing up, like it was the quacking Bonzai Bat Signal.

Whatever you want Holls!!! I thought of "Grammar Hamma" bc my bro is the same way, and his friends used to call him that. Obvs, you are the grammar goddess on this board, and I thought it'd be a fitting title BUT I in no way meant to make you sound harsh! <3 you!

At least you guys are setting your goals low, duddits and bonzai. "Get a tag on Inforoo" is a dream that's a lot more reasonable than, say, "become a politician that's actually worth a sh*t"
This is gonna be a rookie question, but I guess that's ok coming from a Moog virgin. I've gathered that the shows are spread out at different venues (both indoors and outdoors) throughout the heart of Asheville.
Does this mean you get one wristband for the whole weekend? Or do you have a wristband that you show to the venues ahead of time to get individual wristbands for the venues/performances?

One wristband to get into every venue. However, if you're drinking, you do have to get alcohol wristbands at every individual venue on each day. The wristbands definitely pile up.

Goals low, low standards.. ya know. I have to keep it consistent.

The great thing about the wristbands at Moog was: Wasn't the black wristband you guys were wearing the official Moogfest 21 and up wristband that was supposed to cover the festival, but you still ended up getting a new one for each venue?
