Yea they seem to be moving pretty quick this year. I had to mail mine in and already got it direct deposited about a week before they said it would be there.
You'd think there is some correlation between order/receipt no. and the amount of tickets sold. The receipt # emailed to me has 7 digits (beginning with "78...), but total sales would never exceed 5 digits (unless they're carrying over the sequence from previous years). Or, they may choose an arbitrary starting number above the sellout number, and count sequentially up, or down from there. The rate of ticket sales would be proprietary business information, until a sellout is guaranteed.
Bonnaroo "sold out" by having Metallica headline in 2008. That's the "joke."
You having a bad day today man?
Not really. Just procrastinating on some work. Even if Bonnaroo "sold out" when Metallica came, I was still there. And years since. I sold out too. It's okay. We all sell out sooner or later.
aren't jokes supposed to be funny, make people laugh, and cause an overall happy mood?
So many people have come on hearing saying the same thing about how Bonnaroo has sold out and lost its way ever since MTV bought it out. It happens so often that it becomes more of a parody of itself. Bonnaroo's facebook has a bunch more of it than here. I think the OP here wasn't as 100% serious about it as he initially appeared, but some people are very, very serious about it.

ohhhh, I see.. I didn't even know that. Is there a Bonaroo history thread somewhere to gain knowledge about how it started, and why, when, etc?
Ya, that's true.. But i dont really have any specific questions necessarily.. I'm just a reader and I would love to read about Bonnaroo. ;D Maybe I will try wikipedia.
thanks Dave!
EDIT: plus I wouldn't expect someone to type out the whole story of Roo's origin, haha
If any one is going to write "The History of Bonnaroo" it should be Juggs. He has been to the majority of them and would write the most entertaining possible version of it.
I say this every year... you can always find a ticket. I've NEVER purchased a ticket from the official site. The first 2 years I purchased from Craigslist and last year I got mine through the street team program.

Bacon, where is the link to Juggs' letter to new posters?
It'll sellout only because of how trendy music festivals have become. Not because of how awesome this year's lineup is (it is awesome though).
Most regional people are making the decision between Hangout or Bonnaroo. Most people I know are actually leaning with Hangout purely because of the beach setting, not because of the lineup. As it gets closer to May I think more people will be making their decision.

I remember a thread about this when I went in 2010. People were trying to figure out how early they should leave based on the ticket numbers, eventually I think we came to believe that it's impossible to get an etimate of the attendance based on the ticket numbers.
On a semi related note, will there be single day passes? I feel like they had those in previous years, but maybe I'm thinking of something else. I have a friend who can't make the whole weekend but could swing it either Saturday or Sunday.
