I just want to know who can get me a sixer of Heady Topper, there will be a reward involved that would make anyone happy. For the record I have some high gravs I have been cellaring since 2009.
I'm camping with the Reddaroo Groop and will have 2 cases of Heady Topper with me. My name's Kevin so feel free to hit me up. I have around 150 cans from like 15 breweries that I'll be bringing with me and am definitely down to trade.
Also will have some Gandhi Bot, Sea Hag, some Big Elm beer, Cisco, Sam Adams, Surly, Great Crescant, etc.
So far I have some Westbrook IPA, Westbrook White Thai, Caldera IPA, 21st Amendment Hell or High Watermelon and Dale's Pale Ale. I'll check around and see what else I may bring. I have seen some Anderson Valley around lately. Maybe some Summer Solstice.
I almost forgot: Kevin, save me one of those Heady Troppers, please!

so just to reiterate and make sure this actually goes down.... we are doing this at the brunch... right? pretty sure. i cant think of a better time and place to do it. my plan now is to smuggle in some glass bottles, along with some cans (becuase i drank all of my stash), so hopefully i dont get busted.
I believe brunch is the spot. Should be fairly easy to trade there. Maybe we can do something on our name tags (I believe there will be name tags again) so we know we have beer to trade? Anyone else have any ideas?

Thought I'd give this a bump for 2014. Anyone interested in trading? Seems like more and more breweries are canning now, so It'd be nice to trade for a few I've never had. I've already started stashing craft cans in hopes that there are some people willing to participate.

Westbrook Gose would be the ultimate Roo Brew. Im looking how difficult that will be to pick up in route. Anyone have access to westbrook cans? Would love to trade some Cigar City for some.

I'm gonna try and bring more craft cans this year to trade. Can't wait!

I absolutely will be game to do some trading with folks. My biggest issue is that there is probably not much down here in Georgia that cant be found elsewhere. Another in our group is coming from Indy. Everybody should be able to get the Oskar Blues stuff so no need in trading for that. The Terrapin Recreation Ale is a good one and I am not sure how far the reach is outside of the south.
I saw someone post earlier in the thread about smuggling bottles for trade. I would be up for that (as long as I knew you will recycle the bottles when done!!) and since we are coming in an RV, I can smuggle in pretty much anything in one of the undercarriage containers. Let me know who wants some stuff from the south or midwest and we can make a trade. I am planning a trip to Asheville a few weeks before Roo solely for beer.

I'll have a couple different offerings from Madtree and Rhinegiest out of Cincinnati. Also have some from Jackie O's out of Athens. Looks like Bell's is going to be canning Two Hearted Ale and Oberon starting in April, so I'll likely have some of that, too. I'd love to try anything from Cigar City.

I'll do this again this year... Even though i was only able to actually find one person with cans to trade at the brunch... I plan on bringing a few Pittsburgh area brews and some homebrew in 2-liters too.
Really hoping that the cans of Warnog, the official Klingon beer, are out in time... it's brewed in my town but licensed by a Canadian company so they're not sure when it'll be for sale.
Hi th3int3rn3t. That was me last year at brunch. That pineapple beer that you brought was pretty good. I shared it with some friends back home because I didn't think they would believe there was a commercial craft pineapple beer out there. I will be bringing some Hop, Drop and Roll from NoDa Brewing this year. They just won Gold for this American IPA at the World Beer Cup yesterday out of 223 entries. I was able to get Westbrook last year so I'll look around and see if there is any Gose available. So far I haven't seen any.

Thankfully, some breweries have started canning down here in San Diego. Notably Pizza Port (Swami's IPA, Ponto Session IPA, and their Chronic Amber) and Modern Times (Lomaland Saison and Fortunate Islands {a hoppy wheat, low on bitterness, high on flavor and aroma hops--Citra and Amarillo}) in 16oz tall boys.
Not even having to deal with the heat or humidity, Fortunate Islands and Ponto are really tasty. I'll at least be bringing lots of those to trade.
Hess brewing just started canning, but I'm not a huge fan of them. I know Anderson Valley has been canning a few years, but dunno how far there distribution goes, and if anybody would even interested in their stuff. . .

Are you in Evansville? I knew that Tin Man was brewing Warnog, but I've not heard when it is officially going to be released. I've yet to make it to the brewery. Every time I'm in Evansville I'm always driving, and I know I'll obviously need a driver when I leave there.

I'll be bringing the pineapple beer again, along with some beers from North Country Brewery which is a small brewery in Slippery Rock PA that just started canning this fall. ill pick up some more cool ones if i find any, but can't make any promises.
I always come with a healthy supply of "Resin" it's from Sixpoint Brewery out of NY. Its an Imperial IPA, double hop, 9.1%. Delicious, but a little pricey $10+ for a 4 pack. But well worth it.

Yep yep but I rarely go there either since I work at at a different brewery in town.

Ah, gotcha. I've not been to that one either but I've had a couple different brews from there. Not Bad at all.
I may have to bring some of the Evansville beers to Bonnaroo with me this year.

Yeah! Coming from Chicago, so we could bring some Revolution and Half Acre Beers. The Anti-hero IPA from rev and Half Acre's Daisy Cutter Pale Ale are both really popular here. Jesioneka: do you have any more thoughts on Windy City beers?

I love Daisy Cutter. I drank a lot of beers by Tallgrass Brewing last time I was in Chicago. 8-Bit and Velvet Rooster were both solid.

I think you nailed the two bigger Chicago microbrewers who produce cans.
For those want something light and refreshing after being in the mid-June Tennessee heat, cider is a nice change of pace. Last year we brought two types made by Vander Mill -- Totally Roasted and Blue Gold. I've had drier ciders, but neither of these is overly sweet at all. Vander Mill is Michigan-based and distribute to Chicago, so we'll be bringing them again!

From Tin Man I prefer 3gear/porter by a wide margin. Dark but mild enough I could slam one in the sun. Circuit/Pilsner is decent. Haven't tried their newest, overlord/imperial ipa. Want Warnog mostly for nerd reasons. Beer!

Thanks jimpy! I've been able to find some Carson's in Tell City but Tin Man isn't here yet for some reason. (Even though it's listed on tap at a local restaurant they never have it when I'm in there.) I'll be in Evansville on Saturday so hopefully I can remember to stop somewhere and pick up some Tin Man to bring home with me. I can't wait for the Warnog either, for the same nerd reasons.
I brought some half acre, revolution, and ska beer to trade last year. Pretty sure I didn't do any trading, just was drunk at brunch and gave them all away. :x

That's usually what has happened to me as well!
Haha yep. We need a way to find each other this year.... Maybe I'll bring a poster board or something that says "beer trading" or something.
