Dude. Roofan has a real life and a real job and he will happily get some pics WHEN HE CAN. Asking so many times in so many threads is pretty rude. When there are pics, you will know about it. Chill.
They usually don't paint the fountain or arch until right before the festival. We might get some faraway shots from roofan or other locals, but nothin' too detailed. Plus that'd ruin the surprise!
Actually last years fountain looked awesome at first but what made it was the cool design on the floor. Unfortunately halfway through the first day the paint started coming up and it didn't take long for it to completely wash away. Without the cool floor it looked kinda plain. I was sad because it really did look cool at first. See:
^^ wait wait WAIT- that's REAL?!! I wanna touch ittt!!!
dammit- now i HAVE to go look this up. that's amazing. My chem teacher must've been an idiot because we didn't get to play with cool spiky goo and speakers.
That and taking a rock of raw sodium and throwing it in the snow to blow it up.
^^^This! My chemistry professor got a chunk of sodium and we went out to the lap pool and threw it in. You think you've seen shit blow up? Wait until you see raw sodium react to H2O. I always thought that with some colored water it would be some sick "water works".

I said it earlier, but Chemistry is a lot of fun. I have a lot more cool chemistry tricks I could share

Ok, that explains it, because that looks pretty cool. I didn't go into centeroo until late thursday night, and wasn't by the fountain til Friday.

Part of the fun is walking around and "discovering" all of your surroundings, why do you want to discover these things from your computer screen? Wait a couple more weeks and take all the damn pictures you want!
Guess what dude! That attitude makes you look fat. Just be patient. It usually doesn't start till later in the month.
Brian took his anxious little self and left. Probably at exit 112 on I24 about now, waiting to get in.
He just heard about walmart camping and promptly drove down to set up his tent. I hear he has pretty heady pictures of the walmart preparations though, including how they are going to set up the beer aisle this year.

I was on the same page last year. As I recall, by the end of the weekend it was just white and black.

That explains it then. It was sad to see so much hard work wash away like that. Hopefully they will get it done earlier this year so that it can dry.
That BP painted logo made the Shroom look like a Texas tea gusher.
haha i just realized it was bp colored. appropriate too, because of the oil spill and all. the whole way there we only stopped at bp gas stations too. it was because someone had a bp gas card, not because we're oil spill enthusiasts.
and i really hope the fountain is better this year. it was pretty boring last year. cleaner than in '10, but not as cool looking.
and early pics never really do anything for me. i can never really see what anything is, and in the end nothing compares to the real thing.
im bringing up alot of old topics from within this thread, so please excuse me. i had some catching up to do.
on the subject of cameras. i always like to have alot of pictures and videos from roo. you just have to utilize that gelatinous mass in your skull thing, and be able to judge when its appropriate to photograph or videotape people. some people are supposed to be responsible adults in the real world. people walking to centeroo, take a picture! corn eating contest, dont touch that camera!
