Hello fellow Roo goers! This year will be my first bonnaroo and I am beyond excited about the whole thing. I was wondering though from people who have been before, does rain take away the experience and make it a buzz kill? I feel like rain follows me to all concerts so I just wanted to know. Thanks!

No flip flops. Mud will eat them Stake your tent really real well Never take off your rainfly no matter how hot it gets Goldbond At least 3 sandwich sized bags on you at all times for your electronics and schedule This one is debatable but I'll be bringing them. Two 2x6's cut to at least 18 inches in case your car gets stuck in the mud
trust that after a while in the heat you will pray for cloud cover and rain.. The day after the rain is usually way cooler as well.. I remember the day after friday's downpour in '08 made the pearl jam set way more relaxing

I've been wishing for a repeat of 08's weather ever since. Come on weather gods, we're due

I don't travel a million miles, take 25 airplanes, stay in crappy hotels for rain. Give me sun and maybe a small shower. If there's mud, I will be seriously disappointed.
I like it best when it doesn't rain, but there is cloud cover. Last year, I think it started to drizzle right before Eminem, which felt great for a split second. The rest of the weekend it was blue sky. This made it pretty, but also hot and dusty.
I loved it in 2009, even though it created mud all over the place. The cool air was worth it. Plus it was cool seeing tents flying through the sky and cheap ez-ups being crushed in by the wind.

The rain in 2008 during MMJ greatly added to the experience for me, although I really hate the days after a good Roo rain because places like Shakedown and the Ditch can get extremely muddy. They really need to work on their solution because straw and plywood didn't do the trick.
Either way, just keep the Roo attitude and you'll have a blast!

even without rain the ditch and shakedown end up like a soup sandwich most of the time
If anything, some rain might have enhanced last year and 2010. I would have loved a rain shower during the heat of the day, but long enough to just not create steam

I have a question for you Poster....Will rain take away from YOUR experience? If you know you're going to be outside for 5-6 days, i would prepare for anything and everything. If something you cannot control will take away from your experience, i might suggest that everything can take away from your experience, SO DONT LET IT!!

rain just adds to the experience, the rain in 09' was amazing to me. even with all the mud its such a relief to feel rain after being in the heat all day. embrace mother nature!
Vicious thunderstorms can be dramatic and bothersome. Tents should be adjusted if a thunderstorm is approaching. I prefer dry and hot. Rain can make it humid and hot which I find less comfortable. The dream is gentle showers followed by a dry air mass and breezy, low humidity; lowers the mortality rate.
