I went to bonnaroo in 2003 and 2004. Havent been able to make it back since but am planning on going to it this year. My question is I had heard on other sites that Shakedown Street isnt as "cool" as in years past. Is this true? For those of you who have gone since 2004 and especially last year. Is there something still goin' down on Shakedown Street? If you prefer to personal message me that's great too. See y'all in June.
*i like coconuts, you can break them open they smell like ladies lyin in the sun** *Hell I don't even know where I am** *for now I must sit here and ponder the yonder: The herbivores did well cause their food didn't never run** *We listen, if it feels good We shake** *You made a big impression for a girl of your size, Now I can't get by without you and your big brown eyes.**
shakedown kinda sux when they wont allow glass pipes for sale. thats what i mostly looked at. and when superfly taxes the vendors so hard that the only people who can afford to vend roo are the people selling 3 dollar patch shorts from malyasia for 40 bucks and a bunch of other mass produced crap. id save my money and get quality stuff thats made with love by some hippie trying to make a living seeing shows and selling their unique creations at a different fest. there are still a few good vendors at roo but they have to raise their prices signifigantly. luckily there is lots of vacationers with money at roo. shakedown at roo is a bad place to do anything regarding 'cool' the nice friendly horse people were turned into elevated spies with radios to set up busts on shakedown last year. i visit for food though. its great for that
i do most of my shopping in the lot. everything you need can be found in the campgrounds. even the great food.

Okay...um...what is Shakedown Street? (Roo virgin)
shakedown is just the universal name for the spot where all of the vendors setup at fests. its basically just a road lined with vendors. there used to be miles of it at roo. but its been reduced to half a road by new policies and prices. it used to be the heart of town. now its kinda sad. but at most fests its where ya go to see tons of crazy stuff. always something to see on shakedown!

Yeah, listen to dude and vinny. Nobody has any fun at Bonnaroo anymore. It's just a bunch of cash-drivin hustlers and eager cops. That's why nobody goes to Bonnaroo anymore.
Oh, by the way I'm being sarcastic. You should be fine. Don't listen to hippies. They lie!
John: We don't even understand our own music Spider: It doesn't, does it matter whether we understand it? At least it'll give us . . . strength John: I know but maybe we could get into it more if we understood it

My dad used to tell me the most honest guy who knew was indeed honest...honestly a jerk.
I don't PULL punches either...I just earned my karma the hard way- by sticking around the boards and contributing. You might want to try it sometime.
i would have to agree. i certainly dont pull punches and im good to go. although i did have a small but dedicated fan club inflating my karma at one point.

I'm an honest asshole, as well. That's why I always have appreciated dudewheresmyroo, and his posts. I tell it like it is, because I hate when people dance around a fact to create suspense or whatever. Vinny, however, is just an not a very nice person to be an not a very nice person. If he didn't like the fest, I don't know why he posts here, but that's his prerogative.
As far as shakedown being cool. There was less there last year, but I didn't spend any time or money there. Everything I wanted came to me, so I wasn't going to go looking.
