Pretty damn pleased with the schedule myself. As I've mentioned before I can only attend the festival friday night, saturday night, then all day sunday, and Sunday is easily my favorite day.
My Sunday schedule:
The Revivalists Baauer? I dunno maybe I'll just get something to eat, cause its all music from here. Galactic Ellie or Porter - I've seen Porter Robinson but he puts on a great show. moe. - Its been several years since I've seen moe., pretty excited to see them again. Aoki Trey Stevie
I'll do everything in my power to make it back from the Dalai Lama speech to catch Bassnectar on Saturday, but I'm thinking I will once again miss Bassnectar, for like the hundredth time. I'm also sad to be missing Jim James and The Breeders, The Roots, Mule, and Wolfgang Gartner.
If I can make it over Friday I'd be happy to catch Passion Pit > Anders, but I doubt I'd stay for Kings of Leon.
Anyway, I think Hangout did a great job with the schedule all around.
Sunday is easily the most stacked day. It sucks because I have conflicts all day between the Boom Boom Tent and the Hangout Stage, but considering i'll have been wiped out from 'Nectar Saturday night, i'll probably stay away from the untz on Sunday.
Based on acts playing that stage, letting go stage, and chevrolet stage all at the same time all weekend...I don't think it's the same stage/location as the small BP stage or whatever it was called last year. I think it will be inside the Hangout to prevent soundbleed from those other two stages. I seem to remember that my friend that went to the Moon Taxi shows at the Hangout Bar not too long ago was told that the new stage built inside there would be used for the fest.

Considering how stacked this lineup is, this schedule worked out extremely well for me. ZERO heartbreaking conflicts. There's a few smaller ones, but there were bound to be some. My plan:
Friday: Lance Herbstrong > twenty-one pilots > The Breeders > Sheepdogs/Toots? > Jim James/Afrojack? > Grizzly Bear > Macklemore > Big G > KoL Saturday: Brassft Punk > Nicki Bluhm > Public Enemy > Dirty Projectors > Mule/Wolfgang? > Roots/Holy Ghost? > Kendrick > Bassnectar > Tom Petty Sunday: Zion I > Revivalists/Mowglis? > Baauer > Moon Taxi > Ellie > Imagine Dragons > YYY's > Bloc Party > End of TAB > Stevie
So nothing too bad. On Friday, I'd rather see Jim, but if I can see him at Roo (with no conflicts) I'd just see him there. On Saturday, I'll see Wolfgang if I get to see Mule at Wanee, otherwise I'll see Mule at Hangout. There's other smaller conflicts I'll have to decide about day-of. Otherwise, I get to see full sets of all of my must-sees (Stevie, Bassnectar, Big G, Bloc Party, YYYs, Grizzly, Imagine Dragons, Macklemore, Kendrick), so what more can you ask for?

Okay, I think I've figured out my initial plans. I'm still on the fence about some time slots, though. I named them both if I'm on the fence.
Friday: Colin Lake > Ra Ra Riot!! > Sheepdogs/Luelle > Jim James > Grizzly Bear!! > Passion Pit/Macklemore > The Shins!! > Hanging out at the condo
Saturday: Delta Rae > Nicki Bluhm > Chill in the VIP Grove > Dirty Projectors/Bright Light Social Hour > Mule > The Roots > Chill in the Grove again > Tontons > Petty
Sunday: Best Coast/Revivalists > Grouplove > Galatic > VIP Grove > Kingston Springs > Yeah Yeah Yeahs > TAB ('cause my bf likes him. I may sneak off to the Grove or to Bloc Party) > Stevie
So, looks like everyone is going with Bassnectar over Slightly Stoopid on Saturday. I like the 'nectar and all, but Slightly Stoopid on the beach seems way to cool to pass up.
Well, for onc thing, the 'Letting Go Stage' is not on the beach/sand. And last time Slightly Stupid played main stage in 2011 while Bassnectar played the tent. I'm not a fan of either, I just think Bassnectar will be more fun.

back in the day of the waaaaaay too small EDM tent. I missed a lot of acts I wanted to see that year because the tent was too packed, including Bassnectar. I actually begrudgingly went and saw Slightly Stoopid because of that. It was cool sitting in the back and chatting with my friends while the reggae sounds drifted over the beach, but on the whole I find Slightly Stoopid juvenile. Lots of "we're from california where we smoke the gaaaaaannnjaaaa!!!!" kind of stuff. Would not make an effort to see again.

The word in Gulf shores is that the hangout folks are beginning to panic. I've heard they've only sold 20,000 of the 35,000 tickets. At this point, it sounds like they are canceling all plans for a Thursday concert because they are already losing so much money on this years festival. Sounds like they might have some small event at the hangout restaurant Thursday night for the VIP ticket holders to fill that obligation. Overall, organizers are very disappointed and might be forced in to offering single day tickets like they did in year one of the festival.

Wow. This is disappointing...and shocking. How do you go from selling out a fest in 2 weeks the year prior to this? I mean I'm sure the lineup doesn't do it for a lot of people this year, but it is by no means a bad lineup. I'm just shocked. I really love this fest, and i'd hate to see it tank.

I guess Dave was really that big of a draw...though I don't really understand it. He's way past his prime.
Anyways, 2011 sold out as well...but then again most people would agree that the lineup that year was outstanding and arguably the best they've had yet. God that year was so much fun...

I wouldn't give Dave all the credit. No matter how you feel about the lineup as a whole, the headliners just don't carry like previous years's. Ask the average person and he/she will pick Jack White/Peppers/Dave over KOL/Petty/Stevie.

Hey peeps....found a ride...but we now have extra spots in our condo which is a 1/3 mile from entrance...no joke. I'll let the condo pics speak for themselves...not quite sure if a bed is available still or not but a floor spot is 170ish (have to confirm this, but within just a few dollars off if at all)....our group consists of people from all over and most have attended rests together in the past. Here's a link ton our open group...be sure to drop a line and join our festival share group...https://m.facebook.com/?_rdr#!/groups/162077843831659?view=pinned&__user=507942952

Hmmmmm.....I heard a strong rumor from a good friend a couple weeks back about a certain band that is supposed to play the preparty. 92ZEW has been giving away preparty tickets, and Shaul sent an email saying it will happen. Until I hear something official about it not happening, I will have to believe otherwise.

Who, per say, might possibly be playing. I mean, just hypothetically.

If anyone comes across any good lodging deals let me know. I've got tickets and am still trying to figure out where I want to stay. I always wait until the last minute.

just camp
Nah. That's a good suggestion but I want a bed, a shower, and AC on this trip. I like camping but I want this to be more of a condo, chilling on the beach experience. We worked out a place to stay with some friends, but I have other friends looking if anyone comes across a good deal they want to share.
