Follow up question: are the shuttles worth it anyway?
The shuttles sucked so much in 2011 that I purposely booked a more expensive, but in super close, condo for 2012 and 2013. However, I heard that the shuttle system greatly improved in 2012.
There is nothing cooler than the Hangout fest at night. I wish it lasted longer in dark hours.
Agreed, but we are lucky they got approved by Gulf Shores to get this thing started at all. Still wandering the beach afterwards is one of the coolest parts.
Anybody have some extra space for me and my girlfriend? A camp or condo would be awesome. We were gonna stay at Gulf state park but it's booked. Would be willing to park on your campsite and sleep in car. Just need anything really

We've gone to each Hangout and camped at Gulf State Park the previous 3 years and are again this year. It has been only 1 tent per site. You should double check to see if you can add extra tents as we saw several people stuck last year.

Joel Cummings from Umphreys McGee replied to my tweet saying they will have less than 2 hours on thursday, so i assume 9:30-11.. boo :\
That's too bad. I was hoping for at least 2 hours.
Side note, tickets are hovering around $170 right now on Stubhub. I think there is going to be much more room to maneuver inside the festival this year.
Gonna miss the Thursday kickoff, looks like. Wish they'd have announced they were basically adding a day to the festival a while beforehand so I'd have asked off from work.
That schedule works for me. We're likely not going to get to our condo till 3, and the schedule means I can watch Conspirator, Lotus, Railroad Earth and Umphrey's, one into another into another!
A friend of mine called the Hangout yesterday and was told that wristbands for black friday purchasers will be ready tomorrow (5/7).
My son just drove an hour and a half to go get the wristbands from the black Friday tickets after he called and was told they were ready. Now we're being told they won't be ready until the 9th. Second time we were told they were ready by somebody that answers their phone. Second trip down. What a bitch. More than slightly disappointed.
Jeez...in that case, I'm not f'n driving down there till I get confirmation that one of you successfully retrieved your passes. Also, if any of you black friday peeps plan on picking up passes for other people by showing their driver's licence, let me know if that works too plz.

Damn, that sucks. I plan on waiting until Saturday to make the trip over there either way. Will definitely give an update if/when I get mine.
My friend got stuck with a condo and all her friends bailed...worst part is she won't even be able to go to the fest now because she can't even afford a ticket due to this fiasco. If any of you are interested in splitting a condo with her or hell, even taking it off her hands, that would be fantastic. One mile from the fest.
