Seriously though, my beard has gotten so long that for the past year or so I get the "no way he doesn't know better" treatment. It's crazy. 2011 Hangout, before Paul Simon, during the epic shakedown at the main entrance, I straight had my dick molested by a friggin' female security guard. My buddy went to jail after similar treatment!
Last year, they didn't even look at me. I was waiting for it but nothing ever happened.
Always look LEOS in the eyes, especially walking in. Dance your way in through entrances. This has a tremendous psychological effect.
Side entrances def had less hassle last year.
Expect a rough search for the pre party this year. All hetty bands and DJs....Phish in a barrel'd

I pissed in the sand at Primus in 2011.

I've heard lots of porto complaints regarding hangout, but I've never had an issue with lines or anything, especially last year. They really beefed up the porto quantity. I dunno, maybe I just got lucky. Porto nastiness tends not to effect me either, I really don't even notice unless the poo is actually above the toilet seat, and I haven't seen a porto like that since Bonnaroo 2003.

I've never had to wait for portos the past 2 years, the portos were on the beach side of both stages, just walk toward the back and you'll find plenty of open units.
Good find, yeah looks like security is gonna be beefed up this year, prob not even going to attempt to bring anything in on thursday and scope it out a bit
The key to the porta potties is you gotta go to the very back ones at both beach stages, people get messed up and dont even realize they are back there/slash think they are occupied. You'll notice what i mean once you get down there. They have about 50 of them at each main stage organized in rows and the last couple rows arent used nearly as much
Son of a 42069, they took my idea about having a separate line for folks with bags and those without. That's smart. This interview may just be a deterrent for folks, big talk in other words. But it only takes a few hate-filled idiots to mess it up for everyone...but I like being safe, so I understand if the bag searches are ramped up a bit. Man I'm getting old. Gonna go drink some water. I'm in +9 .4 miles away.

Just checked the 10-day forecast. Highs in the low to mid 80's and lows in the mid 60's, next Thursday through Sunday. Highest chance of rain is 10%. It doesn't get any better than that.
I'm staying in Island Shores right by the Waffle House as well. We'll be partying on the beach all night every night so feel free to stop by! I'll have a bright LED lantern and probably some rave gloves

I'm in Gentle Winds. A few of us will be going to OuterHang, but I plan to hang on the beach by Sea & Suds each night myself. Those beach parties/jam sessions were the highlight of my weekend last year! If you see a couple people in horsemasks, that's probably us. lol.

Um...so...I don't know what an RC is...? Can I still be in?
Beer lines: I really don't remember standing in line much for beers at all.(or portos either) There seems to be beer tents all over the place, especially along the shoreline fence that moved pretty quick. Now, the beers being cold is another question but you can get them pretty quickly.

Question - I'm heading out a day earlier than expected to catch the pre-party. We don't have a place to stay and planned on crashing in our car or at a friend's place for the night. Is there a public place I can park for free/cheaply overnight?

As I've said before Saturday we are going to see the Dalai Lama in NOLA. I have still never seen Bassnectar, so if I can make it back in time to make it to the beach to catch Bassnectar, I will, and I'll stick around for Tom Petty as well. It is highly unlikely I will be able to make it, as HH is supposed to wrap up at 4pm.

I never would have thought of that, but they are open 24/7 and they do have security around. probably not the worst idea.

Nice! 3 Inforoo'ers in the same small set of condos! I'm actually staying in the one that Meyer books, 2B, for the second year in a row. It's hard to beat the price. Especially split 6 ways. And it's less than a 10 minute walk from the gates
Can I still be in?
