I am 99.99999999% sure the dates of Hangout 2013 are May 17-19. I tried to book Phoenix and those dates are blocked out. The week before, and the week after no problem.
John Mayer as a headliner would be so weak. This festival used to rage so hard.......
Just say no to pussyrock!
Yeah, I mean, I was disappointed in the lineup this year and if John Mayer was a chosen headliner for next year I would probably lose hope for this festival being enjoyable for the price bracket.

after experiencing bonnaroo for the first time in a long time this past summer I realized how superior it is in terms of pure musical enjoyment to hangout. mainly because of the amount of stages and the length of the days, meaning of course the all important late nights.
so for roughly the same price you get way more musical bang for your buck out of roo then hangout. what you do get with hangout is the beach, which is of course awesome.
but for me and my purposes, roo was a way better experience this year. better music, better music, better environment, better crowd.
if hangout continues toward this soft rock direction of John Mayer/Dave etc I'll be very disappointed. they'll still sell plenty of tickets but the crowd will be shittier people.

postjack, I pretty much agree with you, and I prefer Roo to Hangout. But I do like the smaller crowds and constant breeze at Hangout. Even decent music is great in that kind of setting.
John Mayer wouldn't be my first choice, but I like him and my wife loves him, so I would be ok with it.

Constant breeze? Maybe every now and then... It's gotta be just as packed as Roo in comparison to people vs. size of the venue. I didn't go this past year, but the 2nd year was ridiculously packed and probably one of the hottest moments was the Umphrey's show mid day... no breeze, bout fainted, but still raged.

The weather this year was one of the highlights of the weekend. And the parking lot where Umphree's played last year was made into a tent this year, and sod was placed down over the asphalt so that it was nice and cool.

UM actually played the big stage last year @ like 4 pm, scorchin' hot. That's cool that they played the tent this year though. That tent was way too small last year, but had A/C so every one was trying to pack in that mutha...
What in the actual quack? Pretty Lights at Bayfest? hahaha Look at all the pissed off rednecks on the fb thread announcement:
so much lulz
I can't believe there are people passionate enough about bayfest to even give a shit enough to comment.
I guess I think of bayfest as a music festival for people who don't really love music, they just want to hear Alan Jackson play "it's five o'clock somewhere" after they drink like 500 miller lites.
No, he's totally a headliner, dude. They said they were going to announce it at 2pm, but then they said they couldn't wait and went ahead and announced it.
We'll get the rest thursday unless they decide to release that early too. Might get it wednesday night.
Bwahahahaha Pretty Lights headlining Bayfest, that is fuckking hilarious. I wonder if HUKA is doing the booking for Bayfest now. I hope they get ABB and other hetty acts.
