typically you have to favorite a band on live nation for them to e-mail you a pre-sale password. I did that earlier, but they haven't e-mailed me one yet.

no pw required through the iPhone app, I just bought two.
Alrighty so back on topic... I've been following these dudes (Moon Taxi) for a lil' while now, seen a dozen times or so round the area, but apparently they put on a helluva show @ Roo this year...
Well, I ain't making that 6/23 show at the shed b/c I'll be in ATL for Iron Maiden! I'll try to catch the Soul Kitchen show in Aug. I get the feeling that the people in the band Moon Taxi are the ones that are actually posting/promoting in that Jubilo Music and Arts Festival thread on here: bonnaroo.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=otherfestivals&action=display&thread=28992 actually that indiansummer chick is probably just smangin' one of them duders.

hahahaha @ smangin'... Bonepony sounds sweet.
I always have a good time @ their shows though, I'll be @ The Shed show in Mo' (even though it's always awkward when I see shows there) but the great beer and bbq always helps.
Nah, that shit is on a wednesday. I'd consider it, if it were on a saturday. Still never seen the ABB. How many hetti points do I lose for that? All of 'em?

Yeah I somehow got that day and the day after off, so I gotta go @ this point. My 1st time seeing them was @ Wanee this year actually, so don't feel too bad. But, you gotta make sure to see 'em sometime soon... You could always just plan on goin' Wanee 2013.
I wish I could see the ABB in ATL! I'm got VIP for Allgood so I'll be set.....it'll be almost like Wanee. 4/21/12 Furthur FTMFW
ABB is pretty crucial. There is a possibility Bayfest could score them again...
Just do it!!! The tickets were on such short notice, less than 2 mos... pretty ridiculous.
I would be amazed if Bayfest got ABB... probably the only way I'll ever go again. I think my last Bayfest was like 13 years ago when Creed played
I was at that Creed show lol. went in with an open and hopeful mind, but stapp is a terrible frontman. so boring, just walked from monitor to monitor.
we always went to bayfest to see Pain. stopped going when they stopped playing. I did go last year for the first time since the Creed year to see Korn. good show, terrible crowd. so still and unenthusiastic.
One of my top 5 favorite bands everrrr. I saw them about 8x or so. That Bayfest show with the dirtcloud was so epic. I still listen to Midgets with Guns all the time.
I was also at that Creed show. No comment. Alice In Chains>Velvet Revolver was a great time in '07.
I always go to Bayfest just for the hell of it. I know how to sneak in for free, no problems, with a backpack full of booze. PM me if you want the info before the fest. It's legit there is no risk involved or anything.

hell yeah! we used to go to all of those all ages Monsoons shows. Honestly, I think Pain was the first band to introduce me to the communal and social power of the live music experience. all my friends from all over used to make those shows, McGill kids, Murphy kids, eastern shore kids, we all met up at Pain. years later I'd have the same experience at my first Phish shows, only it's friends from all over the country I see.
Midgets With Guns really is a pop masterpiece. Pain should have been so much bigger, they wrote catchy and dare I say important rock music that made a strong emotional connection with their audience.
in my memory, the Pain crowd during Milk is still some of my craziest highest energy crowd memories. that mosh pit would get insane!
I feel like we have to have crossed paths at some point, Postjack. My first show was Pain @ Monsoons late '98 I believe. I was 15. I was one of those NIN/gothy kids and I met a bunch of other ones at Barnes and Nobles one Friday night. They told me about Pain and how I had to go. So I did! My buddy and I ate a few blue gels (god I miss gel) and I remember having the time of my life. Oh man...."The Great Balzac" came out and lit his nuts on fire! I was dying laughing.
"I had a real bad haircut and no place to go....except Alladin's Castle and Eckerd Drugs!" God I can relate to that lyric in every way possible. Midtown'd.
You wanna hear some shiznit? So I'm friends with Dan Lord's niece, and basically a friend of mine and Longinus met him and Dan had like 30 more songs written or something like that. Our friend said they were all classic Pain quality songs. He was going to be the lead guitar player for the new Pain, and I was going to play drums. Before it got going Dan's wife shut it down. He's a math teacher I think...I know he ended up moving to Texas.
I cherish every Pain show I was lucky enough to see, but that Bayfest one was probably my favorite. That was a crazzzzy moshpit! Mobile used to throw down.

we must have crossed paths, our crowds our too similar. you were a goth b&n kid, I ran with the gothy/hippie/punky kids but carpe was our hangout. did you ever go up there? I'm thirty now, so I think that makes me a 2-3 years older then you based on your monsoons math. did you know nick "spiderman"? he seems to be the great connector between various groups of mobile misfits.
I'm about to be 29. I saw Pain the first time the day after I first hung out at B&N. I knew a few hippies, they were trying to get me to go to Phil and Phish, Panic etc but I was having nothing to do with it! Wish I had listened. I was friends with a lot of ravers too. I started hanging with punks in '99 and went to a ton of shows at the Commons. (Remnants ftw)
Nick Spiderman....hmmmm... I dunno. I wasn't really in the Carpe crew. My buddy Wiatt was though. I saw him at Explosions In the Sky the other night. What are you doing locally comin' up? I'm goin to that Pumpkins tribute band at SK next wknd for old times sake. Def doing Little Feat next month too.
I'll be at all of these shows in Mobile within the next month: 6/29: Pumkins tribute (SK) 7/2: Daikaiju // Speedy Ortiz (AMB) 7/6: The Manichean // FARGO // Bantam Foxes (AMB) 7/13: George Porter Jr (AMB) 7/20: Zoogma (SK) then Super Nice Bros (AMB) 7/22: Zechs Marquise // And So I Watch You From Afar (AMB) 7/30: Little Feat (SK)
Man Zoogma w/ Super Nice Bros, that will be a fuckkin' party right there. I'll be at Allgood. Doubt I'll make it to Zechs. I'm leavin' Columbus, Ohio at like 9am that day...don't really foresee me driving that far and then going out. Ya never though ^_~
GPJ got moved to Friday 7/13 though so we will be able to hit it up and do MayhemFest the next day.

First, rad story about the almost Pain revival. Would have been ser Epcot! Would love to have seen Dan on stage again. Sorry it didn't work out for you.
second, I graduated from McGill with wiatt, so there is our connection. he was def a carpe kid. Wiatt also knows my GF melody somehow, I think they has some classes at south a while back.
Wish I could have made that explosions show, how was it? School seriously screws up my weekday live music possibilities. I have class MW 5:30-10:15 this summer, no way I could drag myself to the soul kitchen after work then school.
My next local show is probably GPJ at AMB. however, if we end up going to mayhem, we might drive up Friday night instead of Saturday, so I might miss George. I'll keep you posted, me and you and Longinus can meet up, and probably realize we've at least seen each other before.
Hahahahaha....yea I'm sure we've met I went to McGill for a lil while before being "asked to leave". MacAtee'd!
lol macatee
