Keoki def isn't dead, just looked it up lol. His wiki said he denies passing out at his turntables at the Limelight during the Club Kid days. NANS! A buddy of mine saw him nodding off at the State Palace in NOLA in the mid 90's.
Keoki played Emerald City in Pensacola about 3-4 years ago. I missed it, but there wasn't very buzz about the show at that time...I can't imagine that many people under 30 even know who he is these days. Nice old school name to drop for a speculative lineup to fill that Oakenfold slot, but I would hope they would go with someone a lil more relevant. Carl Cox/Sasha/Digweed would be great if they want to keep it old school.
I'm hoping this isn't true, but I heard that Phish won't be playing next year (would be badass since it will be their 30th anniversary tour), but that Trey wants to headline the 5th Hangout in 2014 since he headlined the first one.
Def not kangfirm'd and the source isn't the sourciest. I hope it's bullshit, 30th anny Phish tour on the beach would fuckking rule! At least give us some Wharf shows...

Got a feeling Soundgarden will play Hangout, and if they don't play Hangout, I've heard them as an early DeLuna 2013 possibility. So if they don't play Hangout, I think you could virtually pencil Soundgarden in at DeLuna.
I'm really hoping so. They were fucking awesome at Voodoo last year. I really want to see them again. They are by far my favorite out of all the grunge from the 90s. It's hurts me to even call it that because I feel like grunge was really a name for a period/location rather than a genre. Soundgarden is f'n metal.
GREEN DAY Irving Plaza, NYC 9/15/12 Welcome to Paradise Murder City Know Your Enemy Nuclear Family Stay the Night Stop When the Red Lights Flash Carpe Diem Let Yourself Go Kill the DJ Oh Love Holiday Burnout Hitchin' a Ride Scattered Letterbomb Highway To Hell / Crazy Train Brain Stew St. Jimmy Boulevard of Broken Dreams 2000 Light Years Away Only of You Disappearing Boy (Played little snippets of … moreStairway To Heaven and Sweet Home Alabama in the bridge) Christie Road Coming Clean 409 In Your Coffeemaker J.A.R. (Jason Andrew Relva) Brat Stuck With Me (Began the song with "86" instrumental snippet) At the Library Paper Lanterns When I Come Around She F.O.D. King for a Day Shout / (I Can't Get No) Satisfaction Wake Me Up When September Ends Encore: American Idiot 99 Revolutions
At least they play some old songs. But seriously, Brain Stew without Jaded?!? That is so hetero. Welcome to Paradise opener is cool though. When I saw Green Day in 2000 they played everything by them I ever really wanted to hear, even stuff from Kerplunk.
My girl and I are gonna check out the very beginning of the set (mainly for Welcome to Paradise) then cab it to the Arena to try and score cheap Madonna tickets after the show starts. If we can't we're cabbin' it back to Voodoo for Justice!
LONGINUS- When I saw Green Day in 2000, it was at Bayfront, so a fairly small show considering how big they are now. Tons of moshing and slamdancing the whole show. We were punkers then so we were going apeshit in there. When Brain Stew started, everyone pussed out and got out of the pit areas, it was weird. They all knew Jaded was coming and were too scared to mosh to their fastest song. When Jaded finally started only a few more people got in. After Jaded everyone went back to moshing the rest of the show. Pensacola'd.
^^ The SOAD/tMV show wasn't bad for me because I was front row the entire show. Everyone heckling/booing tMV sucked ass because they quit playing in the middle of Drunkship of Lanterns I believe. I was mainly there for tMV, especially after seeing them at the EPIC Nola Orpheum show in '05. SOAD was just plain disapointing. I had been into them since '97 or whenever their first album came out and they were just so boring live.
Nine Inch Nails in Pcola around '05 or '06 was the worst for me. The most pit had Navy dudes straight fistfighting each other throwing dangerous combat moves the whole show. This one guy that kept jumping up and down sent his VIP Tour pass flying into my hand. Sold it on ebay for $500!

Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band-The Killers-Phish People said Bruce last year, think he would dig the beach. Killers have a somewhat modern sound, and modern audience (i.e. Jack White) and Phish could be put into almost any mock festival lineup. I think they will be on the beach this year. Ill be there though, even if ICP headlines.
I'd rather have ICP as a headliner than The Killers.
Me too, all day.
People hate on ICP for stupid reasons. There fanbase, albeit filled with white trash and shady characters, is still extremely friendly and super into the shows. Juggalos are at the very top of friendly concert scene people you will find, up there with WSP etc.
They put on a great show! Insane visuals. 10 clowns on stage spraying 3liter bottles of faygo every direction from start to finish. If you are on any type of level it is extremely easy to hit fractal city during their shows.
Longinus- To put it into perspective, I'd say ICP live is about 10,000x better than seeing Jesus & Mary Chain live.

not the biggest fan of either, just thought it would be somewhat likely the killers could play. ICP... to each his own I guess...Not sure how Faygo and Sand would mix.
Yeah, I was just making a point...ICP is highly unlikely to play any festivals other than their own. Hangout 2013 will get stuck with either The Killers, Muse, or Mumford & Sons as one of the headliners. There is no doubt in my mind about that. I'm just hoping that they don't get all three of them because that would piss me off waaaaaay more than DMB & RHCP did this year.
Problem dog- Their music isn't even that bad compared to shitt like The Killers and No Doubt. I don't ride around listening to it as it is no longer 1996, but in a live setting they crack me up.
Mumford is fine at 2nd tier status but it is BS for them to be headlining major festivals so early in their career. Headliners should have been doing arenas for 10 years.

I agree that this is how it SHOULD work, but that's not the reality. Mumford sold 2.5 million copies of their first album, and the new one is currently the US highest debut of 2012. It sold more in its first week than Madonna, Green Day, and Bieber could move in their respective first weeks. Mumford is a top 3 headliner wherever they play next year. There isn't a single US festival that will book them and then put them in the 2nd tier just because they haven't paid enough dues.
