Personally I think the cabs are too pricey. $5 per person in general is fine, but if two or more people are going to the same place, they shouldn't charge $5 per person. It should be $5 per ride in that case.
Festi-Cab saved me with an infected toes trying to walk to pod 1. so i'm for it. Unless the medical tent allows to ride people out on golf carts. They say you cant walk anymore, but gotta walk to pod 1 to get your car to go to the hospital, we cant drive you there.
On Sunday I gashed my hand open and got a free golf cart ride to the medical compound at Pod 1 but they made my fiance and I walk back, which I didn't mind despite the mud. Sorry about your toes <3

I believe they view it as $5 per seat which I think is a fine deal.

I guess it all depends on how much money you have at Roo. We went with an extremely tight budget and wanted to take a cab Saturday night/Sunday morning but couldn't afford it.
And to someone who said to pave the roads, that's actually a very interesting suggestion. What would be the downfalls from doing so?
Blacktop would be scorching hot to walk on during the day and radiate heat after the sun went down for a little while. You ever play basketball on a blacktop in the summer? It's like running around on top of an oven.
As a former marching band geek whose Florida High school had us practice in the parking lot (no football field) during summer band camp, what flanzo said x1,000,000. Please for the love of god DO NOT pave the roads!
Man if the 1%'ers are the ones that can afford the $5 festi cabs then I guess Im doing considerably better at this whole Capitalism thing then I originally thought.

OK, I'm embarrassed even asking this since I have been to seven? Eight? Bonnaroos since 2004. But here goes: Where in hell do you even CATCH the Festi-cabs?? I have not one time even seen a cab stop. Should say that I don't camp, since I'm a local, but I've walked in from day parking about a jillion times and never seen one. Is there a FAQ on this or something I missed...?
I will say two years ago the cabs allowed my sister in law to enjoy Roo. She was pregnant at the time and walking around centeroo was about as much as she could handle. The cabs to and from day parking allowed her to have one last hurrah before having a child.
She would usually walk out to either bushy branch rd or the main rd where you turn into day parking and wait around until she saw one. It's kind of luck of the draw as to where to catch one. Just make sure to yell out for them to stop if you want to take one and if there's room they will stop.
lol this thread was hilarious. you people pay $250 for a ticket but bitch about $5/person for a taxi being TOO EXPENSIVE. yet you then turn around and pay $7 for a beer or $16 for a pack of cigarettes.
anyone who bitches about not being able to afford $5 at roo needs to find a 2nd job in the months leading up to roo. or christ, dont spend $250 on a ticket then.

I did not use the taxis, I was to close. I saw several people not paying, just running to an empty security line as the poor taxi guy screamed, "that isn't funny, I could lose my job".
They don't bother me, it wasn't that dusty.
Give those guys a break. They are making less then minimum wage and wokrking mainly for tips. Who really cares?

As a co-owner if a taxi company. Money up front is always policy.
Their turn-in for the weekend is around 4,000. This poor driver who gave me a ride on Sunday had not seen any shows and was still 600 short on her goal.
Close to the end of the ride we passed. 10 dollar bill sitting in the ground, needless to say it happened during the most perfect conversation for her.
Turtles are, actually quite sexy, if you think about it. I’m getting an erection just thinking about turtles. No, not a stripper named turtles, that’s not funny. Actual turtles.

My friend and her boyfriend got a real scheisty cabbie. They each paid their $5 and got in, he drove them about 100ft., stopped, and said that he wasn't allowed to drive them any further because of the location they were in. Then he expected a tip.

I am definitely not one of the 1% (I eschew pretty much all vacations so I can party hard at Roo), but I love the Festicabs. I didn't use them when I didn't need them, but when I twisted my ankle in the ditch by the Which Stage (the one between the VIP tent and the right side of the stage) last year, it made an impossible walk to Pod 10 possible. It's not like you can move up to Access mid-Roo if something happens. The Festicabs are not only useful, I feel they're necessary for Roo to continue growing.
YES! the mounties came past our area and dropped a good 10ft line of poop right in the middle of 8th avenue and just left it there. luckily, our camp and our neighbors cleaned up since it was night time and we didn't want everyone walking thru it

Some of my camp mates were talking to their festicab driver one day about this. Their driver said "you'd have to be a complete idiot" to not make that minimum amount. Of course, that's just one guy and he could just be a complete animal.
Welcome back Bonz, but I do not find it strange that your presence being requested in the Orgy thread and then you showing up, like it was the quacking Bonzai Bat Signal.
