Praying Pretty Lights gets late night Which the same night Mumford is playing What.. I will totally camp out for rail.
I understand missing Mumford for PL, but Iv never understood fighting to get on the rail or as close as possible at EDM shows.
There isnt a band to watch... And the only visually appealing aspect of the shows is the light set-up, which you cant see from up close.
I guess its louder up close, but to me the best spot is dead center about halfway back, so you can see the lightshow the way it was designed to be seen.

I need room to dance!
^ This girl gets it.
Which is why we need to collectively pray that they keep these artists out THAT tent in particular. The sightlines are the worst of the 3 tents and the way the benches and vendors are placed on the stage-right side and near the back funnels all of the foot traffic through Centeroo diagonally through this area have really impeded some of my best moments musically at Bonnaroo.
I love it when they have dancey shows latenight at THE OTHER tent because there is so much more space laterally and the natural bowl shape makes for good sightlines all around. I understand the tent is (slightly) physically smaller but the overall capacity of the surrounding area feels much larger and the quality of the experience is better for everyone as well. Anyone who was at Sleigh Bells on thursday would have a good argument about crowding at that particular tent at that time but there were just SO many people there - another argument for another time/thread.
Next, my hope would be to open up the WHICH for a latenight or sunrise set. There is a good amount of room there now without the VIP bleachers, but the sound is still pretty spotty for many shows (however skrilly blew my hair back all the way back towards the Questlove SJ).
I can see the Bonnaroo planners having more latenight (intended) WHAT stage performances, but I hope they save that for Daft Punk...next year.
THIS tent is fourth on the list and its mostly because of the aforementioned sound bleed from the WHICH and the Miller Lite Cafe (is it still that this year?) and because of the contour of the ground it doesn't produce the best sightlines if you are with (or are) someone under 5'6" ish. And as we saw with Bassnectar, the crowd can easily extend to the fountain because that is the highest ground - and it's not very immersive having to be back there.
Everyone has their favorite spots for all of the stages (which may vary depending on artist/time of day) and I won't tell anyone any of mine because; I need room to dance!
p.s. another helpful solution but may require expensive infrastructure modifications would be to raise both the height of the tent roofs as well as the stages inside the tents as well. Raise the artists up (or just give them screens!), just a few feet would make a HUGE difference to the number of people who could see the artist, and of course raise the height of the roof to accommodate the bigger stage setups (like PL for example or the Shpongletron).
Valid point. - I'm too claustrophobic to get this far up. It happened once for me with Colonel Claypools Bucket of Bernie Brains at the first 'Roo. But I didn't know where/what I was.
I have just often found myself in a no-no-word trance, with tunnel vision working my way to the very front, then realizing that I cant see the entirety of the light rig. But I do enjoy the atmosphere up there.
But I usually stay up there and boogie cuz its just as hard to leave the front as it is to get there.
I hate being too close to people for electronic music. Its not like a rock show where at some point you're going to be grabbing your neighbor for a sing along.
I like to be towards the back so my elbows can get funky.
In all seriousness, halfway back dead center is the place to be. You have some room to dance and it's not too hard to sneak out for a drink and get back. Have to be in the crowd though, there's good people in there.

^Most definitely, I am really really looking forward to the late night crowd this year. I like being around the soundboard when applicable/possible, the sound quality will be great and you usually get a great view.
Considering Wild for the Night is a Skrillex/Birdy Nam Nam track, probably not?
He said in the video that people in the Electronic music scene all play each others stuff live. He played Cinema (skrillex remix) in the video so why not Wild for the Night with ASAP?
Calvin Harris - 8:00EST Carl Cox - 8:40EST David Guetta - 9:30EST Bassnectar - 10:20EST Deadmau5 - 10:45EST
Disappointed in only 25 minutes of Bassnectar, since they already streamed deadmau5 last weekend. But I'll take what I can. Watching Calvin Harris now, who I just saw at Buku, and it was an awesome set, surprisingly. Will catch Carl Cox and Bassnectar tonight for sure.
Does anyone think Porter Robinson will actually play at 2PM like his website lists? I was hoping it would be more like 2AM. I missed his set at Ultra last weekend, and EDM during the day (especially in hot Tennessee) just doesn't do it for me.

There's too much EDM for some of it not to be during the day. I have no idea who will and won't be late night, but I promise you there will be both day time and late night EDM. Porter Robinson listed noon for his Lollapalooza-Brasil set, but is scheduled for 5:00pm. It doesn't appear that he really has a "default" listed time, as there's shows listed for 11am, noon, 2pm, 3pm, and 4pm. I'd bet he's not at 2pm, but I wouldn't necessarily bet he's late night.

Evening would be loads better than 2PM, even if it's not late night. I wouldn't mind a set near sun-down or later. 2PM is a miserable time of day to try to dance around.

I think we established in the schedule thread that he lists his times on the site as doors and not his slot.

Lollapalooza leaked their lineup... their EDM has some solids but doesn't blow me away.
Knife Party Aoki Steve Angello thievery corp flux pavilion (would see) major lazer hot chip crystal castles dada life Griz (would see) modestep (would see) disclosure (would see) baauer alvin risk art department (would see)

Thats your list of EDM at Lolla. You were actually missing quite a few. And this EDM lineup is actually VERY good.

Have to agree. Actually that whole lineup is very good.
