SO glad I'm going now! I'm sure this will sell out. I like the new adds, although nothing mind-blowing per se (since they pretty much had all of the headliners already). I do wish Bassnectar was on the main stage weekend 2, but it's a pretty minor complaint. Also, I'm gonna attempt to do a list of artists that are only playing one weekend:
Weekend 1: Infected Mushroom araabMUZIK The Weeknd Disclosure Rudimental Dog Blood? (they're not on Weekend 2's schedule)
Weekend 2: Thievery Corporation Sleigh Bells Hot Chip Luciano The Bloody Beetroots Sven Vaath DJ Fresh (Live)
I know there's others, so point them out to me if you see them. Also, I do like the idea of two different experiences, but it does suck having acts you want to see at the weekend you're not going.

We definitely thought it was worth it, especially my wife. The #1 perk was no wait to get it. I'm not fibbing, the GA line was horrible. We literally sailed in, with nary an inspection. It was impossibly smooth. The other perk was the VIP viewing areas/private bars. At the ASOT arena, you were on an elevated platform. You had your own bar and own bathrooms. At the main stage, they had their own uncrowded food vendors selling everything from fresh cut sushi to pulled pork, burgers, etc. There also was a giant bar on the elevated platform at the main stage, plus bird's eye viewing areas and more non-crowded porta pots. It was shaded, too. The live stage also was shaded and had its own bar, couches, etc. directly in front of the stage, behind the crowd. VIP tics also gave you the ability to meet-and-greet some of the artists. Being in our 40s, the ability to stay out of the sun all day and relax on a couch here and there was huge for us. It also helped us hit up one impossibly LN with Felix da Housecat on the beach.

Looking at this lineup - and remembering the great time we had - I'm almost wishing we could forsake Hangout and go back to Ultra. Hopefully the Hangout lineup won't make me regret our decision. I'm so used to driving back from 'roo, All Good, North Coast, etc. and feeling like crap, but after Ultra we took a couple days to stay at Miami Beach to relax. We also drove down to the Keys and John Pennecamp state park to snorkel on the reefs. Highly recommended.

Phi- if the coachella trade included airfare I'd gladly take it! So many bands I want to see there.
I'm pretty satifsfied with this Ultra lineup. I'm happy with the dubstep selection that I love. I'm happy with the headliners (I felt gypped last year on that) But I'm kind of bummed there was pretty much NOTHING that took me by surprise. And they didn't take any chances with "out there" artists, i.e. flylo and dj shadow last year. And the live selection pales in comparison to some of the past few years. Sleigh bells is cool but thats weekend 2 only (I'll be there weekend 1) Last year it was really cool to see stuff like M83 and Miike snow there. and years ago it was really cool having STS9, disco biscuits, and lotus on the line-up, but nobody showed up for those shows so I guess they gave up on jamtronica. Also kind of bummed there's pretty much no DnB except DJ fresh weekend 2. Drum n bass dis dying

Man, really don't like the way they're handling the two weekend thing. Many of the live acts have always been my main draw, and those are the ones being booked for only one weekend or the other. Would be pissed if I were attending this year.

Phase 3 came out today. Nothing too exciting. Biggest for me is just having some drum n bass added to week 1. Dieselboy and Black Sun Empire
Also worth noting is they tweeted about adding a water taxi going from south beach to the festival. This is ingenious and long overdue. thousands of drunk and drugged up people leave ultra each year with no way to get back to their south beach hotels other than to drive. There's not enough cabs and no reliable public transportation after the fest

From a news story:
"10 p.m. UPDATE: Miami Fire Rescue Lt. Ignatius Carroll tells Gossip Extra that a LED video panel about 20 feet long and 8 wide crashed onto the stage. Two workers were crushed, a third was injured by flying debris and a fourth was traumatized. All four were transported to area hospitals. The two who were hit by the LED panel are in critical condition. Carroll said fire marshals, OSHA agents and engineers will inspect the stage tomorrow morning to check for structural damage."
Another quote from the same guy says that the two workers injuries are "life threatening".
Watched the livestream Friday. Rough start for the festival with the late entry and multiple tech problems. My brother had some friends there too. Artists were by and large great though. As Dave said, young crowd.

I watched the live stream most of the weekend. Dragged some speaker towers into my backyard and set up some lazers for Armin and above and beyond last night. Had a mini rave going. Really wish roo would book some trance again like they used to a few years ago.
