I really want to go to this too. I'm not sure I'm willing to drop all that money by the time it goes on sale though. Considering how fast it sells out, that probably means I wouldn't be able to buy a ticket past the first day. Does anybody know about volunteering at Ultra? I would almost definitely go if I could.
Also, for headliners, I would imagine Tiesto comes back again, as he's pretty much a mainstay by now. Deadmau5 could, but he did say last year that he hated playing Ultra, so he probably won't do it. Daft Punk would be great. I'm not sure beyond that though, since I feel like they had so many huge names last year, that I don't know how many would repeat and/or be billed higher/lower than they were last year.

Ultra usually gets who they want (besides daft punk) Although last year they had no HUGE headliners and managed to sell out faster than ever, so maybe now that they realized that they'll focus more on the undercard (which, personally, I probably wouldn't mind) I could see Skrillex inevitably headlining
Phi mentioned earlier today there's strong rumors of Swedish House Mafia playing their final show at Ultra next year.
SHM is almost enough to get me to pull the trigger. DP and SHM there is no way im missing that. BUT at the same time, if Ultra got DP then that means Coachella DEFINITELY gets DP and I'll see them there.
so Ultras website is promoting a "Huge announcement" Monday at 12pm est...something thats never been done before...I think the fest is gonna be 24/7 this year for two days, just a hunch

24/2 best bring your tastiest pacifiers for that mess
Curfew outdoors in Miami is 12 pm. So unless they somehow managed to work something out with the city, that's unlikely.
2 weekends, a la coachella would be really great, and smart- as they could probably sell out both or come close. But I find that unlikely also.
So far they've never dropped lineup before Jan (maybe late dec at some point?) I'd be surprised to see a headliner dropped so early but it sure as hell would build huge hype

So, given this news, does it make anyone more or less likely to try to attend?
My crew already had a hotel room booked at the Hyatt Regency for the original dates, and we went ahead and got one for the new weekend as well, but that's the final few days of SXSW 2013, so I'm pretty sure we'll do "Weekend 2."
Selfishly, the two things I like about this announcement are: 1) Better opportunity to get Early Bird tickets (in theory) and 2) Larger revenue stream with which to book upper echelon talent.
I know I should probably give myself a swirlie rather than ask this, but if Ultra and Coachella each offer Daft Punk somewhere around $4 million to play both weekends of the respective fests (which is the amount Coachella allegedly paid Radiohead and Dr. Dre & Snoop), could we see a significant Daft Punk tour along both coasts in Spring 2013?

So my big question is- will the line-ups be the same each weekend, or different? Alot of people assumed it would be different line-ups. I assume they're following coachella's lead and giving the same line-up each weekend Then they posted this
We are offering the "unique" opportunity to see your favorite talent in DIFFERENT ARENAS, on DIFFERENT STAGES, on DIFFERENT WEEKENDS!!!
This suggests that they plan to have the same artists both weekends, but playing on different stages.

I'm confused about that too, laggy. I'd assumed identical lineups, but it seems like there's a ton of confusion about whether that's the case.
Since I can only swing one weekend, I sort of hope it's identical or at least the top few lines of each day are identical because I'd be pretty bummed if there were some epic rare headliners for 1 weekend, then a bunch of crap for the next.

If I had to guess I'd it'll be about 70% the same, with 7-9 out of the top 10 playing both weekends. That's right in the middle of can't market it as the same but can't market it as different either.
