SERIOUSLY???
Yeah! I realized a bunch of people already posted the line up. Whoops. Definitely worth a go though
Who did Firefly last year? Impressions? Went to NFF last year instead, definitely a different vibe. Plan on Bonnaroo this year but Firefly is pretty much in my backyard. I don't know anyone who did firefly last year.
I went both Friday and Saturday. I couldn't camp because i had to travel that Sunday for Work. My opinion of it... the venue and space is really cool. The stages are nicely spread out and they made it so that two stages start acts at one time then the other two start when they finish and so forth. This really helped with no sound bleeding and also helped with the Scheduling. The organization was a little off, but i attribute that to being the because it was the first year of the festival. I'm sure it will be much better organized this year. The camping looked pretty fun and it wasn't really far from the entrance to the fest which was good. They had plenty of other activities and things going on so there was always something to check out. I really enjoyed going solo. The people there were extremely friendly. Although it was a little more bro/frat vibe. Everyone i met was extremely nice. I think it just seemed more of a frat vibe because they aren't as spread out like at Roo. Not sure what else you would like to know.
Question for those that went last year....How's the camping situation? Is it worth it?
I didn't camp last year, but you walk right by the campsite if you park for the day. It was kind of close to a highway, so i'm not sure how noisy that would be. I walked through the campgrounds and it seemed like a good vibe. People were friendly. Last year was rough, because it did rain i think Friday and SAturday, so it looked a little muddy. since it was the first year last year i'm not sure how big their camp ground was, but it seemed like there were no real BFG areas. They all semmed fairly close to the entrance. I may be camping there this year. Even though this is only 1.5 hours away from my house. I think it will help me with my Post Bonnaroo Depression (PBD)
I went and camped. They give you a 10x30 spot marked off=so there is no land grab like Bonnaroo. I was right along the road where everyone walked and it was fine. There was plenty of partying going on but nowhere near the level of Roo. The logistics weren't the greatest. Only one set of showers that were quite a walk for most campers. It is about a 10-15 minute walk and the walk out at night sucked because you have to fit over a bridge with the entire crowd exiting at once. However this year should be difffernt because of later sets. Alsothis year they are are offering up front camping for $50 more. Would definately be worth it. The location equals tent only at Roo. Remember when you are looking at the prices that the camping price is for one spot which includes 4 people. So split that cost up! The festival itself has a great set up and you don't have to walk a mile to get around. But make no mistake...it has NO WHERE NEAR the festival vibe of Bonnaroo. Way too many hotel folk and one-day ticket holders that are just there for the headliner. I had every intention of going back this year but the back to back weekend with Roo makes it impossible!

Thanks for the info. It just seems like splitting a hotel room might be a better deal than splitting a campsite.

Thanks Chill, I needed that Bonnaroo > Firefly affirmation to keep me from bailing on Bonnaroo and staying local to save some $$$.
Some of my friends that went with me refused to camp. They stayed in a hotel about 5 miles away for about $100 a night. There is a massive parking lot available that is right across the road from the camping area so they had the same walk in and out as me. No real traffic problems coming and going except right after the headliner so you could come and go during the day if you wanted. The hotels booked up fast last year so better get a reservation in if you are thinking of going that route!
If you've seen them at all last summer/on their "I'm With You" tour, they play pretty much the same setlist every night with little deviation.
I plan on pulling a Sat night all Sunday regardless of schedule. But theres no way peppers are still on the "Im With You" setlist and Anthony's stupid hat by the same time next year could they? I seen them twice last year the IWY songs stayed in order and the hits varied in setlist location and one or two were subbed for one another. Hopefully its more of a RHCP show then an IWY tour.

I hope you're right! Saw em 3 times last year, same general set list as you described with 2/3 "deeper tracks" in with the hits.
How is the heat/comfort level vs roo? I imagine it would be more comfortable being further north and in a wooded area. Is there plenty of shade inside or is it only wooded on the perimeter?
I'm used to doing VIP at bonnaroo, mostly for the access to ac. I'm thinking I could cheap out at firefly and remain somewhat comfortable.
Does anyone know if you can exit and reenter if you camp?

Heat in the Mid-Atlantic in late June will likely be mid to high 80s. Humidity will be bad, but not close to Roo. It'll be fine, albeit a bit warm.
Thanks. I also found out that the wristbands for the festival and camping are seperate. You can leave and reenter but can't move car from camping once parked.
Anyone else trying to get tickets right now. I just wanted to see if I could get a first tier ticket and how much it would be with fees. The site has crashed and it seems next to impossible to get through. They royally fucked this up.

Yeah i just went to check the same thing. I think too much traffic.
I was able to get through after 10 minutes of refreshing Got early bird pricing and front row camping Total cost for 2 tickets and front row + fee's was $641.81 Devastated I can't make Bonnaroo this year so this is a big dropoff but somewhat of a consolation. At least its only a 5 hour drive vs 17
I would be ecstatic if they added Pearl Jam, but I can't see such a big name addition. Sure hope I'm wrong.
Man, I just watched the video for the first time and it is most definitely more "bro'd out." Oh well, I already bought tickets and we are going to have a great time.
