Yeah it is. It says you have to follow him on Facebook or Twitter and he'll post a list of questions on there then you have to email the right responses. Unless I misunderstood.

Heck, I'll even post the link here, then to my fb/twitter accounts. But here first, giving the inforoo peeps a slight edge.

Great giveaway, Phi! unfortunately I'll be at the Roots Picnic which will certainly inhibit my chances of getting the answers in quickly. Also, bansheebeat idk if you missed this while you were away, but Festival Snob revealed himself to be...
Yeah, this is a real bummer. About a month, I had heard VMH booked her for this tour and we were all wondering why that venue wasn't announcing it. Now we know.
Louisville cops are major assholes. If you bring pot you better be super discrete when you smoke it, because they won't just cite, they'll haul you to jail.
Never been to Forecastle, but would like to this year. Right now I'm planning on going alone and volunteering with Clean Vibes. Anyone entering/camping together for this one?
I live here in Louisville, so I've never dealt with the camping thing. But I'm pretty sure last year most every Inforoo person who went just stayed in a hotel room since it's so much closer than the campgrounds.
Are you thinking of post-show cleanup? That's probably what I'm doing as well.

I was thinking of working during show, due to time constraints.. how many days does post-show take up?
2, you clean Monday and Tuesday. I've done post show before but never at Forecastle. It's not fun by any means, but for me it beats having to miss bands and stuff by working during the actual fest.
Would anyone be interested in getting together at a nearby bar or something one evening? Downtown Lousiville has a ton of fun spots.
There were some meetups last year, both at bars and restaurants. I'm sure there will be some this year too!
But I have to disagree about downtown Louisville. It sucks there.
Which part exactly? The dozens of new restaurants, the awesome bars that stay open until 4am or the fantastic music scene? I lived in DC for five years and our downtown is MILES better than anything they offer. It's not New York, but it's pretty damn good.
Yeah NuLu and the two breweries and other restaurants that have popped up around the Yum! Center are just horrible...
oh wait, no they aren't, downtown Louisville has become revitalized and there's all kinds of awesome spots down there, 3rd Street Dive, immediately comes to mind.

Awesome bars? Haha yeah right. The bars downtown are overpriced and full of d-bags. All the bars in town are open until 4 AM. I'd much rather go out on Bardstown Rd or Frankfort Ave or some places in Germantown.
The restaurants downtown are solid, but they also tend to be overpriced. Good food exists ALL over town. I've never found a restaurant downtown that couldn't be replaced with something better and cheaper in town. Music scene? There is like 1 good blues bar. The rest suck. Bardstown Rd is definitely the place to be for live music, everything from jazz to rock to EDM. Lots of good music AROUND downtown (Haymarket comes to mind) but I don't know of any good music downtown. Unless of course you're talking about the palace or waterfront or something, which doesn't really count.

Against the Grain is pretty damn good. That's about it really. 3rd St Dive isn't my scene. The only bar I'll ever go to in the downtown area is AtG or Haymarket.

Bah. I can't ever justify this since the bands are similar to Bonnaroo. What do folks think? Is it worth the $$ and drive to do? (Is there a Forecastle FAQ somewhere...?)

I won't disagree that there are awesome restaurants all over town and I will disagree that there's not good music down there (Third Street Dive, Haymarket - which is downtown/NuLu, Brown, Kentucky Center and the Palace. Let's not forget Yum.), but I don't think that negates that there are good restaurants downtown. I don't know of anywhere else that could replace Rye on Market or Blind Pig. It's kind of like saying that since there's good music through most of Centeroo, you don't need to go to What Stage because it sucks there. What Stage is different than This Tent, but they both have their merits.

The bars downtown aren't overpriced. I'm not paying 8-10 dollars a beer down there, like you do in other cities. 4th Street Live is the only place you're going to find d-bags and even then there are bars there that they don't tend to visit, like Angel Rock Bar. Yeah Bardstown Rd, Frankfort Ave, and Germantown are great places with some good dives, and they aren't that far from downtown.
The restaurants are solid, I agree, but the dishes are not overpriced. You aren't paying more than 20 dollars for a majority of the entree's down there. Most food costs in the low teen's, that's only expensive in little podunk places, in a city this size, the food is impressively cheap and very well done.
Haymarket is "Downtown"
Have you ever lived in another, or larger city? I find most Louisvillians haven't and they shit all over this town, and they do it for things like traffic(doesn't exist), prices(stupidly cheap), and lack of music(when we have Silversun Pickups not even selling out the Brown, WTF?) Not only that, I find a lot of Louisville hipsters insult Forecastle for some reason.

Different strokes I guess. I don't like the music at 3rd St. Dive. The Palace, The Brown, and Yum are all hit or miss. I'm not saying downtown sucks, I'm just saying that there are other places that are just as good, if not better, in other areas of town. If someone was coming to visit Louisville and I was to show them around for a day or two I wouldn't take them downtown (unless it was for a museum or the waterfront), but that's just me.

Yes, I've lived in Chicago, Greensboro, and High Point. Traffic is great here (aside from the bridge debacle last year), and yes prices are good. Lack of music? I never said this town lacked music. As a musician myself I know first hand how awesome the music scene is here. Not sure what Silversun Pickups have to do with anything though. Alt-J, Tallest Man on Earth, Father John Misty, and Tame Impala have all sold out shows here this year, granted those weren't at the Brown. And I didn't insult Forecastle. Earlier in the thread I mentioned that I didn't care much for the lineup, but that has nothing to do with the festival itself. I had a blast last year.

Personally, my favorite bars in the city are Sergio's and Cahoots and my favorite music spots are Iroquois Ampitheater and Headliners. But I still feel like downtown has good places to go. And with most of the people on Inforoo staying downtown for Forecastle, I was trying to avoid people having to drunk drive or do something dangerous. If I could grab everyone and take them to River City Drafthouse or Holy Grale, I would, but my car is simply not that big. And I agree if I had two days to show someone around, I would do Bardstown Road and Frankfort. But if I had three days, that third one would be in NuLu.
And seriously, do you remember Downtown Louisville 10 years ago? That place sucked. The new downtown is awesome, except for Fourth Street.
Not sure what Silversun Pickups have to do with anything though.
I think Girion was referencing a Silversun Pickups show in the Brown last year that was only half full. It was just kind of embarrassing that Louisville couldn't fill the whole theater for them, even though they were AMAZING. It makes me worry that we won't be able to draw larger acts like that in the future because we can't garner enough interest.
In other news, did anyone go see Allen Stone tonight? I wanted to SO MUCH, but this damn Bonnaflu still has me down.
