Well....it may happen and it may not. Signs are pointing to a reunion album and tour. I would certainly love having Wu Tang on the farm this year. So while we wait to see if Roo gets the group....let's discuss/debate/argue about all the aspects of Wu.
Talk of a reunion/tour:
- Rza talks about a new album/tour: " So they would have to come back to Wu-Tang Productions for this particular campaign. And they’d do that; we did it last time, where they came back and they didn’t have to sign. They didn’t have to sign the last album we did, they just had to come back and get their money. But this one, this campaign, you have to sign. Because there’s a lot of people that’s happy about the 20-year anniversary, and there’s a lot of people that want to invest in it. They like Wu-Tang. They want to see us do one more run. On a large scale. Just yesterday I got a call from Bonnaroo and Coachella. So it means the energy is out there, and I think Lollapalooza is thinking about it as well. So this is one of those years that could be a great year for the Clan." - AVClub.com
- Masta Killa talks about the reunion: ""The reunion already started, man," Masta told SOHH. "You know what I'm saying? [laughs] That's something natural. That's like coming home for Thanksgiving. Sometimes all the family shows up, sometimes you might be missing a brother and you're like, 'Ah man! It would have been the bomb if he had came.' You know? We're gonna do what we do naturally but I'm definitely looking forward to bringing it all back together and holding up the 'W' again. Whenever that comes, just know it's coming. Just know it's coming." - Sohh.com
- Raekwon talks about a reunion and doing it the right way: ""You know, it's a lot of discussion about it but it's not consolidated yet. We know, as a group, 20 years in the business is something serious. It was a couple conversations about it but it wasn't brought to the attention that it needs to be brought to. Everyone's so nonchalant about sh*t, like they don't know if it's going to happen. For me, it's like I don't respect that because it should happen. It should happen in a way where it can help us from all the sh*t we've been through. We've made a lot of money of course and we've lost a lot of money. It kinda put certain cats in certain situations where, you know, this can help your right now. At the end of the day, it could help all of us but it could help the ones that really need to be helped in a greater way and it could put us back where we need to be financially, back in the game as one of the iconic groups in the game but it takes a lot of loyalty, it takes a lot of love and it takes a lot of respect. I want to see it happen but more importantly, I want to see it done the right way." - Global Grind

Their shows as a full group get mixed reviews. I'm sure it would be fun and exciting, but can be a bit of a cluster with that many people on stage all on the mic at the same time. Would be a great potential late night show, though.
If they are late night I'm not totally convinced they would have to be on a stage. I think a late night tent with something jammy or electronic on the Which Stage would be fine. Daytime is another story, though.

I saw them when ODB was still alive. They where the shiz live! Raw and alive as a mother quacker.
I don't have a clue what it would be like now but I'd be there. No quacking doubt, I'd be at this shiz.

I posted in the undercard thread about this too. As far as recent shows go, I saw them last year, and I can honestly say....it would be unbelievable to get these guys at a LN slot. Great show to see from many different aspects.
They're offically booked for the Greenville Music Festival in Germany at the end of July. The reunion tour is happening, now the only question is whether or not they'll be on the farm.
People really need to stop calling this a "reunion" tour. Wu-Tang Clan tours almost every year, it's just a crapshoot as to what that means. For instance, it's entirely possible that Greenville show could be RZA, GZA, Meth, U-God, Inspectah Deck and Masta Killa, no Ghost or Rae.
Good point. I think that it stems from some of them referring to it as a "reunion" and that won't really make too much sense unless it's every member that's still alive. I think it's more appropriate to call it like Rza does....a possible "20th Anniversary" type of tour/show. Maybe they put a little more effort into the logistics of it.

I've had the same thoughts about them calling it a reunion, considering the time when I saw them was fairly recently. I think it's not outside of the box to expect more for a 20th anniversary show though. A fully loaded lineup of RZA, GZA, Method Man, Ghostface, Ispectah Deck, Rae, Masta Killa, U-God, would be appropriate as a 20th year go round.

Do we know if we will have all members of the Wu there -ODB?
Apparently they'll change up their lineup for every gig. So you could get the whole gang, or only a few.
So far the only shows the group has scheduled for 2013 are Coach, Roo, Primavera, Openair in Germany and a show in Sweden. I doubt they're booking major festivals across the world to throw a partial lineup out there.

I figured it would be a full lineup, but I was wondering if this has been confirmed other than a gut feeling.

Coach - April Primavera - May Roo - June Openair - July Greenville - July MiXery HipHop Open - July Stockholm Show - August Bestival - September
This is the complete lists as of now. You could be right, but I'm sure I read it somewhere that not everyone is going to be there for every gig.

Well, it's likely never going to be confirmed beforehand, but seeing how Coach/Primavera are before Roo, we should have a pretty good idea of what show Roo will be getting beforehand.
Also, it's entirely possible Manders still hasn't listened to Enter The Wu Tang (36 Chambers) yet. That may have nothing to do with this discussion, but it's a Wu-Tang thread. I can't bite my tongue any longer.

That's a little bit of an exaggeration. When they go on tour, there's at least a general idea of who will be touring. I'm pretty sure the 2010 tour featured everyone but RZA at every stop. I think Ghost and Raekwon were spotty on the tour before that, but that was pretty obvious after a couple of dates.
It should be safe to expect the same lineup that plays Coachella.
