their coach set SUCKED wtf. maybe i'm missin something, but to me wu-tang seems like a bunch of dawgs who somehow became millionaires scream-talking in synch. now they have an orchestra to back up their scream-talking so their a "can't miss". ef that you give me a few million bucks i'll scream at ya with an orchestra behind me and it'll sound way better.

suckers.
Maybe it's the use of "dawgs" or "somehow became millionaires," but I have a hard time taking this post seriously.

So, felt the need to come into a thread dedicated to Wu Tang, just to blast how much they suck?
dont you have something better to do? Like that bag of d*cks over there? Maybe just go eat those instead. This is the lowest form of trolling pal. Nobody thinks your funny. And nobody is going to be overly upset by what you say. You just look like a moron.
no trolling intended. maybe my language wasn't chosen so carefully. but seriously. thats how i felt. you couldn't even understand them. they sounded like a gang of dogs barking at a crowd. maybe they're good lyricists, or have a bunch of hype surrounding em (like that shitty method and red show on fox a few years back?) but yeah i gave wu-tang a chance tonight and like i said efffff that noise. i can appreciate c.r.e.a.m. but as for their other stuff...pardon me for appreciating a good flow, i guess.
and apparently wu-tang fans are homophobes. lol. go figure. keep barkin dawg.

Ho-ly f*ck.
fixing the spelling of "dawgs" doesn't make the point any less awkward, for the record.
Maybe they're good lyricists? Maybe! How high are you right now? Do we really need to list out the members of the Wu and go over why they're good lyricists? And for the record, so we have a baseline, who do you consider a current good lyricist. Thanks in advance.
"A bunch of hype." You're making my f*cking head hurt, dude. Hype? Hype is something that accompanies an unknown. Draft prospects have hype...a new restaurant that's opening opening has hype...Paul McCartney doesn't have hype. When someone's or something's degree of awesome is confirmed, it's no longer hype. Wu-Tang's awesome levels were confirmed two decades ago, they are no longer living off of hype.
Meth Tical and Redman cashed in on the "white people wish they were black" phenomena at its height in the early 00's and I don't fault them for it. What do you expect when you give two raging potheads a budget and TV show? The Wire?
You speaking from an ivory tower when the only Wu Tang song you mention is the most widely-circulated song they have ever put out is not helping your cause.
"pardon me for appreciating a good flow, i guess. "
Pardon me calling bullsh*t. Wu Tang is from an era of hip-hop that lived and died by their lyrics and flow. No one gave a sh*t how much your beat cost or who made it...they cared about what you said and how you said it. Listen to any of the early-to-mid 90's NYC rap, the rap that spawned an entire generation of artists, and you'll hear simplicity on their beats and complexity in their lyrics. Now? It's the opposite. Drake can rhyme the n-bomb in 10 straight bars, but it's good music because people's standards are non-existent anymore. He spends $500k on a beat and all is forgiven because people barely listen to actual words anymore, just loud sounds and the hooks to songs.
I am a Wu-Tang fan. I am not a homophobe. Generalizing statements don't help the cause, try to avoid them.
PLUS. the first post in this thread says "lets discuss/ debate/ argue over all aspects of wu"
and the 6th post in this thread is saying that their live show gets mixed reviews (suprisingly. i would've thought anyone with ears would give them completely negative reviews but whatev). SO FUCK YOU homophobe.
Why are you throwing around the word homophobe? Because someone told you to eat a bag of d*cks? That has literally nothing to do with someone being gay:
i'm saying live they suck and if you have ears then you'd probably give their LIVE show a neg review. and while it's true that each of the individual rappers seem to have good flows within their verses, they don't really seem to try too hard to mesh the different verses together. and yeah. "go eat a bag of weenies" is pretty homophobic. but that doesn't really have much to do with anything. i just thought it was funny that somebody not liking wu-tang apparently means they like eating weenie to that dude up there. not that there's anything wrong with weenie-eating if you're into that, but dude implied there was. so Quack him.
EDIT to reply to your other post: and i didn't change the spelling of dawgs for less awkwardness. i could say they're a bunch of dawgs barkin like dogs and it'd still make sense. method and red popularized that type of terminology so it's cool dawg. my lyrical tastes don't have much to do with it because i'm not saying they aren't [good lyricists]. i've heard they're great lyricists but i can't be sure on a first hand account that's why i said maybe. i will agree that drake is complete shiz though.
Telling you to eat a bag of d*cks does not make me a homophobe, if I called you a fagg*t you'd have a stronger case here. The act of eating a bag of d*cks would not be enjoyable for anyone, straight, gay, man or woman. You got flanzo to deal with now. Have a nice day bro.
This Coachella performance is some of the tightest I've seen the Wu in a very long time. Their energy is really high and the audience seems more into it than any of the other of the few webcasts I checked out. If I get Wu-Tang -> get mashed break -> Bjork on Sat night Which, DAMN.
wait wait wait. THAT was tight for them? yikes. they seriously just screamed shit into a mic and told people to put their hands up! it's like a screamo show with crappy beats instead of crappy power chords. lyrics don't matter if you can't even make them out.
whatever. you guys can have a great time at the wu tang show. i'll be doing anything else.

Hey man I am absolutely certain you like some stuff on the lineup that I don't like! Everyone does. That doesn't mean it sucks cuz I don't like it. It just means I don't like it. It doesn't make you a sucker for liking something I don't like. I just means I don't like it. We should celebrate our differences not use them as reasons to insult each other.

Keep in mind that this is a fan video from way out in the crowd. I can make out every single word, but that's because I knew what they were saying before they started saying it.
I've been to their LIVE show before, I've been to the LIVE shows of individual members and I've been to LIVE shows of bits-and-pieces of Wu.
It is 100% true that on some nights they don't bring their A-game, their Coachella performance is not among those instances.
"and while it's true that each of the individual rappers seem to have good flows within their verses, they don't really seem to try too hard to mesh the different verses together."
Reach much? When creating a song the way Wu-Tang does, there are these little mechanisms known as "hooks" and "choruses" that alert those non-expert Wu fans when the group is about to switch it up. I know, these mechanisms are in such short supply in today's music it's easy not to recognize them.
In other words: this complaint is about 6 tons of bullsh--.
""go eat a bag of weenies" is pretty homophobic. but that doesn't really have much to do with anything."
It is not homophobic, and the only reason I'm bringing it up is because you lobbed the "homophobic" accusation at someone for telling you to, essentially, shut the blowhole in the middle of your face and respect the technique.
Just admit that you don't know what you're talking about and move on.

Were you at Coachella? Or were you watching via webcast?
I don't know what I'm talking about. Sorry guys, there was no need of me to spray bullshit around a thread dedicated to a group I know nothing about, and I guess I wouldn't like it if you guys did the same in a thread dedicated to a group I really enjoy. I'm just really lonely and needed some attention today. Maybe I'll just call my mom next time, dawgs.
Well, I'm satisfied. No hard feelings pootman. We all have off days.
webcast. if i was at coachella i'd probably be ranting and raving at how awesome it was because it obviously would've been fun due to all the distractions like lights, getting high, people around me gettin down, loudness and whatnot. take those distractions away and it's not pretty. red hot chili peppers weren't good either last night. anthony sounded like a drunk guy singing his songs at karaoke. they probably sounded that way at roo too but i didn't notice (because of the distractions).

Yeah, because people don't get high at other shows, or dance, or look at lights, or hear "loudness."
