Also, a huge highlight for me was having to interact with Uber drivers while I was on another plane of existence. Some of the situations were just so hilarious to me that I was struggling to hold my composure. I am just happy I could give them some funny stories to share with their friends about "this guy who was on so many druqs" haha.
I have a feeling the drive back Sunday night was pretty entertaining for the Uber driver, but I would have to defer to sang_xcx or bacon because I would not be considered a reliable witness at that time.

Our uber drivers were great every night. Especially the ones that had to deal with our drunk asses.

And yeah SupeЯfuЯЯyanimal I have no idea how I didn't see a bunch of y'all because most of us wanted to see a lot of the same shows. I feel like it's nearly impossible that I didn't see at least a couple inforoosters around the grounds/at latenights at Terminal.
For instance, was anybody at the Spiritualized show kinda in the middle of the crowd and during the second half of the show there were a bunch of teenagers/kids in their early 20's being pretty loud/a lot more rambunctious than the rest of the crowd? Because I was just to the left of those kids and a lot of the show I was standing with my face aimed down wearing grey pants and an '96 Atlanta Olympics sweater.
I was wearing my infamous Dolphin hat.. How did you miss me?!?
Let's be honest I'm just going to college to get a job to pay for festivals.
This is the truest thing I've read today, and I already graduated college. Festivals are what jobs are for.
Well then skip college.. Loans suck. All my friends that went to college now have massive student loans and they all serve tables! I skipped college, served tables at a sick restaurant, bought a house when they were at the lowest. Now i'm sitting on 50k in equity with a job hanging blinds for Home Depot, banking, working on my own all day driving around! School is a scam unless you know EXACTLY the route your taking when getting out! Like a Doctor, Lawyer, etc.. something you HAVE to have a degree for. Otherwise, work your way up or start your own buisness with an LLC. Then you can go to all the festivals you want!

Best advice I've ever seen. Why go to college when you can live the dream hanging blinds for Home Depot?!?!
i haven't really been to atlanta since they olympics, so that was nice. i have to say, i think i am done with camping fests for the long run. being able to walk back to a nice hotel, with a pool, shower, room service and a bed is just too good to pass up. i am an old lady now and i want my vacations to be as enjoyable as possible.
the actual fest:
-i liked the layout. hardly experienced any bottle-necking. -great food trucks, love the idea. but like everyone said: need more to lessen lines. -the trees are a gift from the gods. shade, my pale skin wants to make babies with you. loved being able to have our blanket spot on the hill to meet up at. -water stations easy to get to, never a long line. -would have liked to hear several stages louder.
sets that were memorable for me: heartless bastards, old crow, tame impala, ryan adams
tbh this fest was more about enjoying time with my friends, being outside, being in a new city, and taking a break from work. in this being my goal, i completely exceeded! thank you to everyone who laughed and hung out with me, who gave me hugs, and bought me popsicles. one of my favorite moments from the weekend was sunday night as most everyone had left and said their goodbyes, a few of us were still gathering up our stuff. a lady came over and asked us how we all knew each other. she said we reminded her of her phish crew and she couldn't wait to see them. she said it made her happy to see us all together. <3

Easy lifestyle, great money, and it's not just home depot. haha. you guys are great!
How do poster artists make their work? Does anyone know? Like is this 100% all from scratch? Or does he find an old image of a guy standing like that and put it in the work and edit it up? There are so many amazing posters that blow my mind and I have no idea how one even begins making them.
I actually stayed with him for Shaky Knees and do a lot of work with him in Knoxville. You are correct in that he sometimes finds old images and runs with the concept from there. If he keeps it up, he's going to be the premier music poster creator in the country. He's a great dude, too. This style is different from his traditional look and some of his new designs are completely different (like the latest Tame Impala one). For those who don't know, his site is www.statusserigraph.com/

Maybe it's just the My Morning Jacket circle that I run in, but the general consensus is he is already at the top of the top.

I recently bought the Mule poster he did for the late night jazzfest show:
Status Serigraph is great, and I love his style, but Emek, Chuck Sperry, David Welker, Marq Spusta, Zoltron, and Todd Slator are my favs.
I wonder how old those other cats are, Longy. Any idea?
I'm not sure on their age. Emek his has been in the poster game for like 20 years though. Him and Sperry are probably the oldest. Oh yeah, I forgot another one: Skinner. That dude's stuff is amazing. He did the artwork for that last Mastodon album.
Emek, Chuck Sperry, David Welker, Marq Spusta, Zoltron, and Todd Slator are my favs.
Slater is the only one of those I would list as a favorite. I'm a huge Burwell fan personally
Yeah, I like Burwell's stuff too. Those other guys have been absolutely killing it lately though. Especially with the Wonka prints for Primus. Of course it's all a matter of opinion on art, but in most silkscreen poster groups it's the general consensus that Sperry and Emek are the top 2 players. Which kinda sucks because that basically means people try to buy their stuff even when they're not fans of the band that they are doing work for. I only buy posters for shows that I was at so it kinda pisses me off when people buy stuff like that just to flip it.

I'm not big fans of either, I was just naming whoever came to mind and had the same fanbase as past years.
