I submitted an app yesterday. I wasnt even gonna go, but, ill go if its free, (after the deposit). Money will come in handy for All Good. Its like an interest free investment!
Sent in an application and everyone had better luck than I did. I'm on standby, just got the email. Hopefully, I get a chance to go. Probably won't unless I go the volunteer route. But hoping for the best. Good luck all.
Spotless, I'll take a crack at a couple of your questions (someone can correct me if I am wrong): Q: Do you get $250 of the deposit back (not including the paypal service charge)? A: If you show up for all of your shifts, you should get your money back. But from what I gathered, if you miss a shift, it's bye bye cash.
Q: After doing your three pre-festival work days do you get to stay in the volunteer camping areas the rest of the time to enjoy the festival? A: I am 95 percent sure the answer is yes.
The last two questions I have no idea.
Is it worth it? I think so. I wanted to do pre-fest as well. It's easier for me since I live an hour from the site. But I think the pluses far outweigh the minuses.
Guess who's application was approved!?!?!?!?! ME!!!!!! WOO HOO!!!
Now i just need to come up with 260 in enough time not to lose my spot, but still . . .WOO HOO!!!!
I had to email them because my name has an 'i' in front of it reading iMichael. . . . . . i asked them if they could update it, or if would pose a problem. we shall see.
So I got an email on the 18th saying I was approved for pre-fest and it said the following:
"We had a little glitch and that information did not pull properly into your approval email but we are working on fixing it now "
It also said nobody was "confirmed" until they got their deposit in. But it never told me where to send my deposit! I was expecting another email with details but it never came.
So I get an email today that says pre-fest is full and I could be put on standby or convert to doing during-fest volunteer. What the heck?
Now I don't know what to do. I emailed them back, but I dunno. I just can't believe they didn't give me any details whatsoever about the deposit. Argh. I'm gonna freakin' cry!

I really think what we need is someone to ride around once in a while with a megaphone asking everyone to just pick up one piece of trash. If everyone would bend over at the same time and pick up one piece of trash the place would be so much cleaner this year. I'm not volunteering but i'm definately going to pitch in and hope that we can all make Bonnaroo a cleaner place this year.
What does everyone else think? Do you think it would work? I mean isn't it worth a try? Last year was gross. Everytime I sat down I would have to move trash.

You have to go thru pay-pal for your deposit/payment. Last year you could mail it in, this year is going thru pay-pal. Go to pay-pal and set up an account. Once you have it set up then you can make a payment to bonnaroo via pay-pal. It'll be 260.00. After all is said and done, you'll get 250.00 sent back to you via pay-pal. The 10.00 extra is something pay-pal tacks on, kinda like an interest charge. You gotta love big company greed. Do this ASAP and you might get put on a standby list. It's worth a try.

I just got approved for during-fest. It will be my first time at Bonnaroo, and I don't know yet if my friends will be able to make it (they are always broke), so I need to make some friends who are volunteering too!

Last year was my first roo/volunteer. I'm working during-fest. You'll not have any trouble making friends amoung the vols. You've already made one right here. I brought extra beverages/food last year and intend to do the same this year. My cooler stays open for other thirsty volunteers. Just look for a green Nissan p-up and a feller wearing sunglasses and a flop hat. The hat hides the gray and the sunglasses hide the crow's feet. The beverages, well they help me forget my inability to dance, . Just holla if there is anything I can help.answer for you. David

I got in as a during-fest volunteer, too! This is my first time at roo, but I've been to many festivals in the past.... just not for a number of years, so I'm a little rusty.
I'm heading down solo, too, but I'm sure I won't have a problem meeting people once I'm down there. I do, however, feel bad about driving down alone-- if any one from Illinois or there-abouts is in need of a ride, send me a message!
David--since you've done this before, could you tell us newbs what to expect once we get down there?
Watchin' a stretch of road, miles of light explode. Driftin' off a thing I'd never done before. Watchin' a crowd roll in. Out go the lights it begins. A feelin' in my bones I've never felt before...
You ck in at volunteer check-n. They'll stick a staff sticker on your windsheild , give you your assignment/work detail (if they haven't notified via email), and put a staff bracelet on you. The bracelet my dear is a "gold-pass". I'll IM for further details. Your work shecdule may vary. I worked 12p-4p and 2p-6p last year at VIP check-in. I seen one person work the Silent Disco from 11p-3a, that would suck. There will be a board that you can swap out with others if there is a show you don't want to miss. Free meal during your shift, they are decent (sandwhich, chips, and a drink). Most shifts are only 4 hrs. You have your own camping area with free and sometimes warm showers. No one can enter your camping area without a staff bracelet. More in IM, .

I had several friends who did the Parking thing in '06 and they were camped not all the way to BFE, but a long way off. On the other hand even though they had staff bracelets, and could use the VIP entrance I could, and did wander freely about their area. So it may be different for the parking crew.
Staff camping is really really close. Maybe a 5 minute walk? Look for med tent on the map. Its right there. It will look like its a long way, but you don't have to wait in line to get into centeroo like everyone else, you can get in through a back entrance to the what stage. If someone can post a link to the map here I will show you exactly where you can get in and all.
