Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
Finally got my confirmation late last night! Looks like we are definitely next to camp Alison Reynolds! We will be closer to the middle but farther from the main stage. I will have a longer walk to work for sure!
Dude, I seriously can't concentrate on anything but bonnaroo right now. . .It's to the point where I'm poking myself in the eye with foreign objects. . . I think I just need to be sedated until Tuesday. . . . Dystopian Dream
yay, i got my e-mail as well...the map is hard to tell where we are going to be camping...it SAYS we are much closer to centeroo, but you can't really tell...also, it says smoking will not be allowed in staff areas, including the sleeping tents...does this mean my own campsite and tent?
I'm a new volunteer too, but I think someone mentioned earlier that you're allowed to smoke in the campsites, just not in the staffing areas in Centeroo. You can do whatever you want in your campsite as far as I know...just be mindful of your butts!! ;D
Got my email today as well! Yay! Only a week away! Here's an updated forecast for all volunteers:
Sun, Jun 7 Partly Cloudy High: 89° Low: 69° 10% chance of rain
Mon, Jun 8 Partly Cloudy High: 90° Low: 68° 20% chance of rain
Tue, Jun 9 Isolated T-Storms High: 84° Low: 66° 30% chance of rain (not bad!)
Wed, Jun 10 Mostly Sunny High: 82° Low: 64° 10% chance of rain
Thu, Jun 11 Partly Cloudy High: 83° Low: 64° 20% chance of rain
Linz....Thanks for the weather updates! Loving the mid to low 80s! That will be great!

actually they specifically noted in this years email that, "Smoking will not be permitted in the staff areas, including the sleeping tents and the dining area."
who knows if they will enforce that but it was definitely noted that you're not supposed smoke in the tent area. just sayin.
yeah...that is the way i took it...kinda sucks b/c i am a smoker (not just cigs) and was wondering how strict they are going to be enforcing this? i'm not going to burn the farm down, but when i get buzzed, i enjoy my "smokes"

well that same phrase was in last years e-mail that someone posted up. Can any past volunteers offer any info on how strict this smoking clause was enforced?
Thanks so much to all of you volunteers for posting. All the information is very helpful. We're planning to be there early Tuesday around 8-9 am. We're hoping if we get there early we can select our schedules that fits around the bands we want to see. Is this not going to be possible? I read in one of the posts that our shifts are going to be preselected before we even get there. Can anyone shed some light on this? Thanks!

I don't know about you guys, but I am super stoked about Bonnaroo! My brother is coming this year(he is the one that tuned me in on festivals with the first B-roo) and I am just excited!...not to mention I have a major job interview coming up on Thursday...so B-roo could be a major celebration...or just blowin off steam:) The camping area seems kinda wierd, but I am sure there is a great reason for us being over there...I wonder whos camping in the old vol site? Just staff?

Yeah I think the schedules will be in a handout already packaged for each person...might be wrong I'm a newbie for vols, but that is what I understand. We are going to try to make it around 9ish, we already have most of our goods in the living room in 2 rubbermaid containers ready to throw in the truck. I read an earlier post about putting everything in those so they are waterproof and can be used as tables or seats(great idea!) We are just biting at the bit to be there though! Fun awaits!!!
I plan on getting there around 3 or 4pm. If our schedules are predetermined I don't really see any reason to get there so early, there's not going to be anything for us to do right? (other than hang with each other) I basically want to get there to be able to set up before dark. Does anyone know if we're allowed to trade shifts?
i've heard some people mention some things about trading shifts, but i think they kind of frown upon it...i want to check out all the hip-hop and then zac brown thurs night, but dont care at all about seeing phish...really want to see NIN, beastie boys, and snoop, and the late night DJs on fri night!

I sent this to Karen:Hey Karen, I saw in the confirmation e-mail it says no smoking in staff areas including sleeping tents and dining area. Does this mean we can't smoke cigarettes at all at our campsites? If so, where should we go?
She replied with this: there is tons of smoking in centeroo (american spirit has been a sponsor every year but this one i think). we just discourage it in campsites bc of the dry heat in TN...be mindful of fire hazards.
Schedules are predetermined...if you have a problem with the time you are working then you can go to the volunteer HQ and try to either trade with someone or take another shift instead.
Last year I was in the cinema tent clearing aisles..which was nice because it had A/C

I just got my volunteer final confirmation and check-in info email. I didn't get around to faxing my waiver until this morning. I waas thinking of getting there around 7 pm, but may try to get there a little earlier if there's a chance to trade shifts. Cinema tent would be nice. So would catering, I worked in catering at All Good last year for two days. It was nice to have buffet access those two days.

Holy shit, my car did not start today. Battery's fine, the starter is not... Not now, not now, not now!
Also, on a less freaked out note: I'm almost ready for the adventure! I'm going to get my food this evening, with a friend. Hope it's working out well for everyone still.

Just threw some karma your way to help you make it to Roo! I was thinking today how much it would suck to have car trouble just before time to leave.
Tomorrow is my last day on the job till the 16th! Getting stoked for the road trip. 2 hours to Greenville on Monday and 6 hours to Manchester on Tuesday. Going food shopping this weekend and getting some new rain gear. Hopefully I won't need to use it but better to be prepared. For the folks coming from the east coast, don't forget that Manchester is on Central Time. I totally missed this last year and got there an hour earlier than planned.

Sometimes a starter can just get stuck. I had a Dodge Ram 50 a few years ago. One day, when I got ready to leave work, nothing happened when I turned the key. I knew it wasn't the battery, because the engine didn't even try to turn over. I remembered someone talking about their starter sticking and saying you could tap on the starter with something and might be able to jar it enough to unstick it. I got a broom handle and hit the starter witih the end of it a couple of times and tried it again and it started right up and I never had that problem again, and I drove that truck for around two more years. It might be worth trying this in your case.
It may be interesting and maybe impossible for inforooers who are also volunteers to have a place to connect. I will wear a backward swastika made of blood on my forehead so you will know me. Anyway thanks for the list.
not sure about the swastika, but it would be cool to meet up with some people we are already "kinda" familar with since we'll be there 2 days without any entertainment....other than what we come up with...i plan on getting in around noon, and since it will be my birthday on tuesday, i'll probably start partying as soon as i get there...who wants to join me?

I believe it says that every year.
BTW, I'll be doing Pre-Fest, and can't wait to meet some new people. A bunch of my friends and I will be doing it. This will be my 2nd time volunteering, and my third roo.
