Anyone jump the gun with Ellie's link like me? I still havent been accepted and Im starting to worry a bit because I freak out about things like that... I still have no idea why I was not on the original volunteer list from WET, I volunteered with them for 2 years, as well as bonnaroo for 2 before WET was around... so I figured it wouldnt hurt anything??
Maybe it is because I said I would be interested in the GuRoo thing??
Call them. They're very quick and helpful. My bf didn't get his either, called, and even got them to assign a croo right there
I'm a noobie who used Ellie's link a few hours before the link was live on-line. I didn't even realize I was doing it. I just found the link by Google and it allowed me to register. Got my acceptance this morning and just paid my deposit.

Anyone planning on staying the night nearby Monday night the 10th? I'm lookin into hotels. Tryin to stay cheap. I'm finding $41+ rates. Not the Hilton or anything, but it'll do.
Wow, Ellie. That's a pretty good rate. I'll be heading there from WV and probably will stay Monday night. What hotels are you finding in that range?

Congratulations to all the first time volunteers getting pre-fest! You'll have a great time assisting with setting up the festival. It's amazing to see Centeroo come together in 4 days and how everything changes when the patrons arrive. This will be my sixth year as a volunteer and fourth doing pre-fest. Feel free to ask any questions and I'll try my best to assist but things do change each year....

I'm fairly familuar with Nashville hotels. Beware of ones off Trinity LN. I stayed at one a few yrs ago and got ate up by bed bugs.

I checked Nashville and rates are comparable if not higher. Main reason I don't want to go there is cause even though Google says otherwise, it'd be a longer drive from the DC area, I think. I've done McMinnville and Crossville in the past, but we got caught last year having too many people (we just said 2 for cheaper rates), so now trying to be accurate with 4 to a room.
This is what I'm lookin at... The bottom 2 can be ignored since I don't think I'd get more people to join us and make the cost worthwhile. I tried to get the most accurate price with the tax amount I saw online included.

Given a choice, I'd take Cookeville. There's plenty of decent places to eat and it's college town. I've did Scottish Inn in McMinnville. I couldn't sleep, I had a pick-up truck full of stuff and people came and went all night long. Anything in GA is too far away from where you need to be.

You can use TripAdvisor to get a better feel for the individual hotels. Don't rely solely on the cost.

Check out VRBO.com for places in eastern TN. You may be able to find a house for $100.
Yeah. I need to narrow down the choices and look at reviews. I start off listing based on price since I know that matters to many people with a tight budget, but dont want it to be gross and sketchy.
I would've loved some of the house choices on vrbo and homeaway, but they all require at least 2 night minimum... airbnb is the only non-hotel site that's less strict about that (and no extra person charges, a lot of the time), but only saw 1 possibility there (The Nashville/Lebanon link in there). We only have 6ish people in our group, so dont really want it much more than $20/person and we only need 1 night.
I got Support pre-fest. I'm very excited to be working pre-fest and I wonder what I'll be doing on the Support Croo, probably a little bit of everything!
Whew, got it finally..Pre fest Office Administration!
No F'ing clue what that will entail, but I imagine it being much like my current job... surfing the internet instead of doing whatever it is I am really supposed to be doing for a few hours a day!
I'll be doing "Festival Activities" during the show.
My friend also can't pay her $300 for awhile, but REALLY wants catering...say she doesn't get it, any likelihood they'd let her switch croos?
I think it will be about finding someone willing to switch with her. I seem to recall the point of the early assignments is to give people the opprotunity to switch shifts and Croos with others who are willing?
Of course no clue how that process works, so glad I could be no help to you!

Sounds like a decent gig. At least you won't be out in the heat and dust.

First-timer Todd. Got my Croo last night. During Show, Artist Hospitality and Logistics I am so excited. Next year I'll apply for Pre-Fest. But I don't mind at all working the show. Woo-Hoo!
One question: My email said, "You can now log into Bonnaroo Shiftboard and access your new Croos tools, resources, and information." I don't really find much of anything yet on the Shiftboard. Am I missing something? I just figure it's not up yet. Thoughts? Comments? Anyone? Anyone?

Welcome aboard Todd. Glad there are a few my age . Shiftboards won't see a lot of activity till a few weeks before Roo. Then we'll have to opp to switch with others if need be.

The volunteer page gives a couple of the perks of being a volunteer, but it also says there are other perks that aren't mentioned. What kind of other perks are there? How far is the walk to Centeroo from the volunteer campground? And also does the volunteer campground allow for your car to be parked with you or is it tent-only? I'm sure these questions have been answered but there are 65 pages of knowledge I have been working through slowly.
