Is there a way to tell which jobs are still open? I have a friend that is thinking of volunteering and she wanted to know what positions are still left to choose from.

I was wondering the same thing and think maybe you can know only by calling or emailing. I don't see anything online.
Someone posted a little earlier what they thought was left. Not sure how they found out or if just guessing, but they said:

Oh ok. The volunteer site on Bonnaroo.com keeps disappearing lately. I don't see it right now, but that's good to know. I just went to the croo description page a few minutes ago and nothing noted there.
So the volunteering site on bonnaroo.com has been kinda off and on recently, but right now, I'm seeing this:
"All PRE-Show positions are now full. The only Festival C’Roo positions we are still accepting applications for are During-Show on the following C’roos: • Access • Info/PODs • Toll Booths
There are also still plenty of During-Show and POST-Show positions available with Clean Vibes."
Heads up to anyone that hasnt applied yet or wants to switch C'roos... Do it ASAP!
Caravaning is an excellent idea. As far a following each other, that is great also. Back in my day we called it a "convoy". Youtube it, it's a corny but funny tune. Good thing about a convoy is that someone can play the "rabbit". There are a few speed traps on I-40 between Knoxville and Nashville. PM me as we get closer to the date and I'll tell ya where they are. I'll be getting on I-40 in Knoxville and would love to tag along.
David, now you're talking! I greatly appreciate the cell phone and cool apps now, but there was nothing like road tripping in a convoy and talking on CB's. I even had a "handle". Ohhhhh, good memories
Watchin' a stretch of road, miles of light explode. Driftin' off a thing I'd never done before. Watchin' a crowd roll in. Out go the lights it begins. A feelin' in my bones I've never felt before...
Just got assigned to toll booths! Me and my roommate are driving out from Missouri for our first Bonnaroo, we're very excited!
Kyle, what part of MO? Me and three of my friends will also be coming from Missouri and it is also our first roo. We should set up a caravan or something.

hey guys. wondering if anyone who has worked PODS before can give me an idea of what it's like? My friend and I chose it because we've been to Roo a few years and are pretty knowledgeable about the festival. Plus it seems like an awesome way to meet people!

Also, anyone else hoping to be a GuRoo?
I had a friend that did PODs last year. She managed to camp with us in tollbooth camping still, but you're really supposed to camp at your specific POD. She seemed to think it was kind of dull. You help people with directions and maybe hand out extra trash bags and guides you have, I guess. I'll shoot her a message and get more detail of what she did and what she thought of it. Seems pretty easy but you also risk being out a far out POD too, but then again, someone's gotta do it.
Hey there, I'm volunteering for the Clean Vibes C'roo post-fest, and thought I'd extend the invitation to give anyone between Tennessee and Minnesota a ride. I'll be travelling from the Twin Cities through Madison Wisconsin, central Illinois, along I-39 and I-57 to Tennessee. I have up to 6 seats available in my minivan. I'm 25 and really easy-going as long as you pitch in to help with gas. Hope I can help you out! I posted on rickyrides.com and here in the travel forum as well
if you're post-fest, do you have to even be there early/on Tuesday? Or do you go in like normal and just stay late (which is what I thought I read)? I think I remember coming early was possible last year, if you wished, but not required.
Here's a map of everyone's locations I've received so far: goo.gl/maps/bgJnc If they're listed as pre-show, they have to be there Sunday. During-show's check-in is Tuesday. (but keep in mind, Nate, you're the only post-fester I've seen in here so far. Hopefully more can speak up. It wouldnt really work out well for rides if others had to leave Sunday/Monday and you're not leaving for several more days)
For post-fest, you don't have to be there early, you're just like any other festival-goer until after the fest. I'll be camping with everyone else until the 18th

We're coming from Columbia and driving through St. Louis.

gotcha. I thought so, so that sorta complicates things, unfortunately. I really wish they'd make an official forum for volunteers to use, so these situations could be helped better. I only know 1 other guy doing post-fest, but that's nowhere close. He's in MD and looking for a rideshare too. It could work to find someone to ride down with like normal through Zimride and stuff, but the trick is coming back home... If you havent already, try posting on Zimride. I'd say keep an eye on Clean Vibes Message Board too but last I checked, there are pretty much no posts yet this year, which is weird.
anyone driving from the Northeast? I'm in Amherst, my buddy lives in Philly. We're both Pre-Fest volunteering and were looking for a way to get down. You wouldn't have to grab us in Amherst/Philly respectively, we could meet up somewhere that's convenient for you.
Reminder: Most of you should've gotten emails, but just in case... this is a reminder that GuRoo applications and deposits are due by this Friday.
"We're planning to close the Festival C'roo applications on Friday April 19th. That's right! This Friday!"
another new email today... So apparently apps close Friday now even if not a guroo. Deposits due by May 17th. Clean Vibes will still be open after that, it sounds like.
If you've applied and don't plan on going anymore, let them know so they don't hold you a spot.

Let me know!
Google Map of everyone's location I have so far: goo.gl/maps/bgJnc (notes for each spot say screenname, city, and if pre/during/post show)
We also have the Google Doc with everyone's Croos (and if pre/during/post show) and other info that you were messaged about a few weeks ago. If you don't have access, please PM me your email and the other info you want added in. You're already on the list but only your screenname, Croo, and that you're pre-show...
Thanks!
[Edit:] kainiac I sent you a private message again with the info for the Google Doc
So I know only volunteers can camp in the volunteer area, but how strict are they on that? Or non volunteers being in that area, in general? Because I'm sure I'd probably end up spending a night with my guy friend in GA or he'd try and come to my tent to hangout.

Assuming our campground will not be fenced in, your friend will have no issue coming over to Pod 1 to hang out.
It has not been sectioned off since 2009. Back then security would check wristbands to make sure only vols could enter the campground.

I have mixed feelings about this--any idea why they changed their security policy?

Was 2009 before WET? Since we're back to Bonnaroo managing volunteers directly, I wonder if they'd fence it off again...
I just know toll booth camp in 2011 and 2012 were not fenced in like that. I'm planning on having a friend join us after parking closeby in Day Parking.
I remember talking about this a month or 2 ago. Thought someone said it was fenced off but maybe they meant back in 09. Thought an advantage to toll booth/parking camp was that it wasn't fenced in. *shrug*

2009 was the last year before WET took over volunteer coordination. Bonnaroo operations probably stopped fencing in the campground and using Security to check wristbands at the entrances to save money.
I'm fine with this as long as they continue to fence off the shower trailers and set of porto-potties for volunteer use only like they did last year.

I hope everyone already received this email but this answers some questions that people had about the Volunteer camping area:
"Hey Everybody!
Sorry for all of the updates this week. We just want to make sure we keep everyone updated as much as possible to limit the confusion leading up to the event.
We've gotten a lot of questions about the camping situation for volunteers. So here's the situation:
1. All volunteers will be able to camp on site as soon as they are expected to arrive.
2. Volunteers must provide all of their own camping equipment (i.e. tents, chairs, EZ ups, etc.)
3. You will be able to park right next to your tent
4. You can't show up to the site until the day that you are expected to. Meaning During-Show volunteers can't come on site until Tuesday, June 11th. You can't come in with your friends that are working PRE-Show on Sunday if you are During-Show. Your friends that bought tickets can not come on site with you early. They have to wait until the site opens up to GA.
5. Only volunteers can camp in the C'roo camping area. If you have friends in GA that you want to camp with, once they are on site, you can move your stuff over to where they are camping as long as there is room but you can't move your car.
6. Absolutely NO RVs or campers are allowed in the C'roo camping area and you cannot purchase an RV pass. Those are reserved specifically for paying ticket holders. If you show up with an RV or camper, you will forfeit your deposit and be turned away.
Logged into Shiftboard and saw "WE WILL BE WORKING ON SCHEDULES OVER THE NEXT SEVERAL WEEKS WITH PLANS TO LAUNCH THEM MID-LATE MAY, 2013". I think the website said 2 weeks before we arrive (so end of May 28th for during show), but I guess there's a chance they could have it done earlier in mid-May. I'm so eager to see what we get...but I think much sooner than that, they should really send us check-in time info.
Hey, my girlfriend (Julia - 20) and I (Chris - 20) are looking to catch a ride down to Bonnaroo from the Montreal area. We're college students, we're fun, easy-going, and pumped for Roo. We're more than down to split on gas. Since we need to be there on June 11th, it makes sense to leave on the 10th.
cd493 I went ahead and added you to the Google Map of everyone's locations I've got so far. goo.gl/maps/bgJnc It helps having a visual and seeing who could be on the way to see if it's possible to work out a carpool/caravan. (Notes say if pre-fest or post-fest, but I didn't write in there if they're parking/tollbooth volunteers that camp in a different area. That'd be in our Google Doc list) If you haven't already, see if there's anyone on Zimride.
If you are interested in joining the Google Doc, PM me your email to access with, C'roo assignment and, if you wish, your phone # and Facebook url. (This goes for cd493/Chris as well as any other remaining lurkers)
