Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
It's likely you will not receive the notification when applications are open for returning volunteers since Work Exchange Team so no longer runs the volunteer program. Join the Bonnaroo Volunteers Facebook group (link below) and watch this thread for updates as the volunteer veterans start to receive e-mails. If the timeline remains consistent with prior years, the applications should go live in mid-March.

Hey Eric! It's fantastic to hear from you again! Do you plan on doing pre-fest again this year? It seems like a lot has changed with the program since I last volunteered. I'll have to read through the thread and refresh myself. I'm just hoping there is a way to get an early application in. Thanks, Eric (and Ellie) for the info. I've joined the Facebook page so I'll keep my eyes peeled for any additional notifications. It's good to be back!

I'll apply for pre-fest but seriously considering applying to be GuRoo if they offer it again this year.
I never interacted with people identifying as GuRoos... I wonder how that went. I was definitely tempted but figured since it was so new, I'd wait and see.
So I'm thinking about volunteering for the first time this year but I really would like to do Pre-fest. It sounds by far the most appealing to me. My question is, if I can get my application in within, lets say the first 3 days that they become available, what are my chances that I get pre-show duty?

Good chance. Last year was my first volunteering for Bonnaroo and I got prefest. Be prepared for 9 days on the farm!! It was so much fun, but completely exhausting too...

What kind of jobs where you doing? And 9 days entirely or pre-Bonnaroo?

9 days total. Prefest checkin is the Sunday before roo...I worked in the golf cart pool, but there's jobs all over the site...
Anyone planning on volunteering solo? I'm def volunteering alone, and I'm not sure if my friends will end up coming at all so I may be going to the farm all by my self this year....

I have people coming with me, but I met someone who came alone to volunteer last year and they had the time of their life!

You'll do fine. I've volunteered 4 times, went solo to all of them, and had a blast.

I'm thinking of doing the same! You won't be the only one.

From what I've heard the earlier you get your volunteer deposit in, the better chance you have of getting your preference of where you're working.
Yeah I actually kinda want to go volunteer alone this year just so I can make some new friends.
I'd say that's probably the best reason to volunteer at Roo. "Not being able to afford the ticket" is not a real reason, because the amount of hours you work is essentially equal to $10/hour, and you can earn that $300 at home. (Edit: that is, if you're volunteering pre-fest and are giving up a Monday through Wednesday of work at home).

Pre-fest/hour comes out to about $12.50 and during fest is over $16.50. Someone would have to make more than $12.50/hr working an 8 hour day at home for it to equal out. I'd say the majority who do pre-fest are college kids and probably not making that kind of pay at an hourly summer job. But, I get what you are saying. I volunteered solo to make new friends, be able to do whatever I wanted without having to worry about another's schedule and because I'm thrifty.

Something new from last year: "PRE-Show C’roos are only available to returning volunteers and are extremely limited in number of positions." Now, they've got a few hundred pre-show spots, so I'm not sure whether some new volunteers won't have a shot at some of the less desirable Croos, but it's some bad news for the new volunteers nevertheless.

Yeah, I saw this too. I'm still a little worried about how I'll prove to them that I've volunteered before, being that it was a couple years ago...

I have gone 4 years in a row and this would be 5 and finally wanted to be a part of volunteering and seeing what really goes on before i usually make it to the farm. I wanted to make friends prior to the festival so i had more people to hang out with once my crew came on Wednesday. This is a real buzzkill.

I'm very confident that they have records from WET.

ahoy sup people . I'm planning on volunteering this year for bonnaroo infact this would be my very first bonnaroo. me and buds always have gone to wakarusa and well I've grown tired of the same old same old. I'm going solo since to most of them bonnaroo is so mainstream guess i found out my friends were secretly hipsters. don't really care if i have to work during the show i just want a good roo experience and enjoy my self while making new friends. any way guess the real reason why I'm posting on here is cause i was wondering if any of you awesome people that plan to volunteer this year had a open seat in your ride. i would drive my self if only i was certain my car would make it,sadly my car is a hooptie and last thing i want is being stuck in the middle of nowhere with a broken down car. anyway I'm leaving from atlanta not a mucher ill throw in for gas.

I'm also volunteering, more than likely solo as well. I would offer you a seat, but sounds like we're coming from different areas of the world here. But I wanted to say hello! And let you know you're not alone!!!! Youll have a great time! Happy bonnaroo!
As we did last year, those interested in sharing info can join our Google Doc list with contact info and locations, and then from there people can message each other to see if they're interested in ride sharing. Last year, I even made a note of the people that said they were going solo. It's too early right now though. After we get volunteer assignments, it'll be easier.
