Hey Everyone! I wanted to share some good news that may help some past 'Roo volunteers out.
I recently contacted Bonnaroo staff asking if I was still considered eligible for Pre-fest volunteering because I hadn't volunteered since 2011. They told me that my name couldn't be found in their records. ??? They did say, however, that if I contacted WET directly and requested proof of my veteran volunteer status that would be acceptable. I emailed WET and they sent me a reply stating,
"Hi Cody,
Please feel free to use this email as a verification that you did volunteer at Bonnaroo 2011 and that your deposit was refunded as you completed your obligation. Let us know how we can be of further assistance."
I then forwarded this email to Bonnaroo and they told me I was all set and would be added to the veteran volunteer list.

BONNAROO!!!
Awesome! My friend is in the same boat as you since they haven't volunteered since 2012, so I will forward this info to them!
From James, the head honcho in charge of the Croo: "....... If all goes well with GuRoos, we'll be inviting all of the returning volunteers to apply on Monday, February 24th and new volunteers on March 7th......"

Confirmation in a Croo email today:
"Hey 2013 Bonnaroo C'roo Members!
Are you ready for BLAM tomorrow? We are! We're also almost ready to launch the applications for the C'roo for 2014. We're in the final stages of testing to make sure everything is going to go as smooth as possible with the application system. Provided that everything goes well, we'll be sending you all a link to the application that is for returning volunteers only on Monday, Feb 24th.
We'll keep it closed for just returning volunteers until March 7th to get you all first rights at the most desirable positions. This year we've changed things up and are only allowing returning volunteers to take PRE-Show positions. All positions are still going to be filled based on when you pay your deposit though so it's still important that if you really want a specific C'roo or position, you get your deposit in as soon as possible.
We'll have more exciting news as we continue throughout the year but for now keep an eye on your emails on Monday for the application and we hope to see each and every one of you back on the farm in June!

"we'll be sending you all a link to the application that is for returning volunteers only on Monday, Feb 24th keep it closed for just returning volunteers until March 7th to get you all first rights at the most desirable positions" wait so does this mean new volunteers have a chance to get pre-show if spots available and if you pay your deposit before some of the returning volunteers?

Last year new volunteers got pre-show spots. Sounds like they're making a point to give all returning volunteers priority this year rather than an overall "first come, first served". So if returning volunteers don't fill the pre-show spots than I would guess new volunteers could get pre show.... I think once the apps are opened to everyone, veteran volunteers could loose their priority placement if they haven't submitted a deposit?
thanks just joined I'm so stoked even though its kinda early i just wanna plan as best as possible theres no way I'm missing it.
Just read the email that went out yesterday to all volunteers from last years bonnaroo deff volunteering this year loved doing it last year and was able to still see all the shows I wanted to and there's nothing better than virtually going for free since you get the 300 back...
Hey guys so last year was my first Roo and I'm so stoked to go back this year. I really want to volunteer and I'm curious as to what it's like. I just found out that only returning volunteers can work pre-fest, so I'd like to talk to someone who has worked during-fest. Did you have to miss any bands you really wanted to see, or were you able to work things out with other volunteers? What C'Roo were you in and how did you like it? Any other information is also super helpful. Thanks so much!
Most people work during fest. I personally like tollbooth or parking positions, even though they're camped away from the other volunteers, since they have 2 shifts and the main shift (or both) are done earlier in the weekend since that's when more people come in.

Hello all!
My name is Mason, I've been volunteering for Roo for 6(going on 7) years. I have done Tollbooths, Credentials/Check in, and visual design and décor. I was also a Guroo last year for tollbooths(totally worth it for any returning volunteer). Every year I try to convince as many of my friends as possible to volunteer. If you have any questions I will do my very best to help answer them.
p.s. I've been lurking for years but finally decided to chime in, bear with me while I figure out how to use this site.

Hello Mason, welcome aboard! You were my gu- roo last year on toll booths. I had a blast.
Volunteering to help out is one of the best things I've found about Roo. I've been to several festivals, but the volunteer program and clean up crew do a fantastic job at this festival. Kudos to everyone volunteering, you guys rock.

Hi Mason! Welcome to the boards and thanks for chiming in on this thread
I do have some questions about volunteering. Since I am a teacher and my school year ends Wednesday, June 11, there is no possible way I could volunteer for pre or during-show C'roo.
I read this on the FAQ:
HOW CAN I BE SURE TO GET ON THE C’ROO THAT I WANT?
Some of the C’roos are very small and will fill up quickly. You will be assigned to your C’roo within 72 hours of paying your deposit. The easiest way to give yourself the best chance of getting on the C’roo of your dreams is to pay your deposit as soon as possible.
Does this mean there is no possible way to specify your C'roo between pre-, during, and post-? Or is this "assignment" referring to specific jobs like "tollbooth"?
I'm asking because I can't sign up for C'roo, pay my deposit, and then get put into anything aside from the post-fest clean-up C'roo, thus losing my deposit if I have to cancel.

I thought I'd answer this question for you......The "assignment" is for specific jobs on the Festival C'roos. You'll be applying for post fest and Clean Vibes is the only post fest job assignment. If you want to get a jump on things, they posted this on the board a few weeks ago. Hope you have a great Bonnaroo

So I am set on volunteering this year and plan to do tollbooth croo for the opportunity to hopefully get my 12 hour shift done on Wednesday..seeing as this would be the closest thing to pre fest. would I have a better chance of getting a Wednesday shift the earlier I paid my deposit and joined toolbooth croo? or are the shifts totally random? A

They have stated the sooner you get your deposit in the better. I was a 1st time volunteer last year, applied within 30 minutes of apps being on the website, turned my deposit in within 1 hour of receiving my acceptance e-mail assigning me to Toll Booths, and was scheduled to work 3p-3a(Wed) and 10p-4a(Thurs) I was very happy with my shifts.

Two questions: Big problem, I can't drive, and all the friends that I'm going with can drive (my parents are willing to drive five hours back and forth just to drop me). However, as it looks like right now, I'm the only one going and volunteering. Any suggestions?
So, this brings me to my other question. If I do during-show volunteering, can I just stay with my friends in the General Camping area once they get there?
I really want to go as this is my last free summer before College, but it's starting to look a little downhill.

Any comments? Thank you!
1) go on the Facebook group now and as it gets closer and you may find others near you driving that way and volunteering.
2) You can move to where your friends are camped but just make sure you're still on time to check in before shifts, and be aware it could be a long distance away from where your volunteer camp is and where they get camped. Also have a good way to get in touch cause signal can get spotty once the 80,000 or so people start rolling in

Feel Good Foods is recruiting for both paid staff positions and volunteers for this years Bonnaroo. We provide catering for the folks at Clean Vibes and the decor department. We also operate two concession booths at the festival. Most positions are volunteer spots but we always have a few openings pop up for people with extra skills. The volunteer obligation is 22 hours. This is a couple more hours than Bonnaroo requires but we also offer the perk of providing you with meals and beverages the entire time you are on site. If you would like to work with some great people, make some fun food and try out a different type of Bonnaroo experience please go to our website www.feelgoodfoodswnc.com. On the top right you will see an icon for "Applications 2014". On the next page there should be another icon for "Volunteer Application". We only use one application for volunteers and employees. If we feel your skill set meets our needs to take one of the paid spots we will let you know. Please be aware that if you can not find the "Volunteer Application" on your mobile device please try switching to "Classic View". If that does not work just sign onto any non-mobile device and it will work fine.
Returning volunteer application accepted and deposit submitted!!!
If this post didn't make it obvious, all returning volunteers (including those that only volunteered with WET at Bonnaroo, I believe) should now have gotten an email today to sign up for this year. Please don't share the link with new volunteers to give returning volunteers priority.
New volunteers will be able to apply in less than 2 weeks on March 7th.
Apply and pay early to get the best chance at getting what you ask for!
They don't have any records prior to 2010. So my work isn't going to be counted. I was kind of looking forward to the possibility of returning to the volunteer status. I had the greatest time.
EDIT: nevermind. All was taken care of. I'm all set.
