Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
Now through Saturday afternoon or so, Yellow Boots (Yulia) will be in charge of the Google Doc. If you message me to add you to access the list of volunteer info (to see who is on your Croo, lives in your area, etc.) it cannot be done by me until I have owner authority again on Saturday. I'll be out of the country until then with limited internet.
i got toll booths wooooohoooooo I'm so ready for it
Weird, Toll Booth was my first choice and I got my acceptance and deposit in with in 15 minutes of the apps going on line, but I got my second pick of Partner Activities. Fine with me, since it seems like more fun, but I rather fancied the schedule of Toll Booth.

i got a buddy of mine put in his app today hoping he gets a volunteer spot and he pays his deposit. and i should be good if not back to looking for a ride
Just got my confirmation e-mail, during-show logistics and set-up! Does anyone know what exactly this entails? I wanted Artist Hospitality and paid my deposit right away, but I guess as I'm a first-timer, it was filled mostly by returning volunteers who got advance applications! First time at Bonnaroo so I'm super pumped.

I'm a first time attendee and volunteer this year! I'll be doing Check-In...does anyone know what exactly that entails? I'm really looking forward to the whole experience

Hello Bonnaroovians! I am heading to the festival solo as a first time volunteer and attendee and couldn't be more excited. I'm working with festival activities! If anyone has any prior knowledge, is on the same croo or just wants to make a friend before heading to the festival shoot me a message on here and we can facebook it up. I am certainly on the lookout for people that have prior knowledge, are on the same croo or just want to be friends before the fest so hit me up. Woo hoo!

according to the croo doc on our Facebook page. Assists at all of the various credential pick-up and check-in locations both on and off site for festival staff, guests, sponsors, and attendees. A calm nerve and good attitude will go a long way for anyone interested in high volume customer service(Available PRE-Show and DURING-Show) Pros: May be working in air conditioned workplace. Meet tons of vendors and guests. Lots of interaction. Cons: Not able to hear any music from nearby stages. May feel removed from the excitement of Bonnaroo due to being inside for most (if not all of the shift)
I just want to say, props to all of you guys that are making your first venture out to the farm as a volunteer. I would have never in a million years attempted that. You guys mean business.
Can I ask, what was the deciding factor that made you sign up for a worker bee status instead of just buying the ticket and taking the ride?

For me, it was because I get really nervous going somewhere new without SOME sort of direction. If I have somewhere to be, I feel like I won't be so overwhelmed by everything. The free ticket and showers are nice, and also the certainty of knowing FOR SURE where my camp is going to be. I'll also meet a lot more people volunteering than I would if I weren't working. Sometimes I need a push, haha

I'm broke....that is all.
haha 2012 was my first year going and I've been hooked on volunteering ever since.

I made the decision to volunteer instead of attend alone because I knew I would make friends with C'roo members! I think for me personally the idea of attending the festival alone was more intimidating than volunteering because as a c'roo member I have a purpose, somewhere to be, people to interact with, a chance to be a part of the fest instead of just attend it, AND a free ticket on top of it all! It is intimidating, yes, but definitely not scary.

Hey Katie, so far I think I am attending alone and volunteering as well! You definitely have a point with how you will make friends with other workers! It seems so much more meaningful when you volunteer, you'll love it!

So I will be starting a new job soon. I don't know how to go on about getting time off for roo, usually I would use my vacation days but since this is a new job I don't know how it will look with my new boss. So how is everyone getting time off ? Or if you ever been in my position your input will be appreciated

I went into the interview with "I know ill be new, and im yours for the whole first year. Except I need a week in June." Wasnt a problem.
Is anyone who is volunteering willing to give this first-timer a ride to and from the festival? I live in the Boston area, and if I can't get a ride I don't think I'll be able to go. I can chip in money for gas and food and I can be wonderful company!

You scored!!!
As long as you are checking in at the high school ( you will be ) then you get a special wrist band that allows you to ride the shuttles all weekend.
Why is this such a big deal??
Well as a first timer you are going to forget things...
No matter how much you prepare and think you've got it, it will be Thursday or Friday morning and you will be thinking "Shit I wish I had brought _____ or more of _____ " that extra wrist band of yours allows you to catch a shuttle by the main stage and get a ride into town. Meaning you can hit up walmart every day if you like for supplies, or hit up waffle house for breakfast, or the liquor store was a life saver last year!
It also will make getting a ride ( if you need one ) easier because you won't have to pack as much stuff if you can replenish any time you like. ( 1-2 hours round trip including shopping / walking around town waiting for shuttle to pick you back up )just MAKE SURE you are checking in at the High School before you show up with just two t shirts a water bottle, and an extra pair of shorts because of what I said...that wrist band is the only way you can ride the shuttle, and they do check..
So great to see such a vibrant volunteering community! I'm a first time Bonnaroovian and a first time volunteer! I am on the Access C'Roo and I am pretty stoked to meet everyone and have a great weekend. What should I expect from Access? Any past volunteers want to shed some knowledge?
I will be coming in from Houston, TX, and I'm planning a mid-West adventure via Greyhound visiting Dallas, Little Rock, Memphis, and finally Nashville. Any other C'Roo members along the route who want to meet up for a meal/drinks or join my journey?
So I think I've managed to get my ride to the farm sorted out, but the person is a pre-show volunteer and I am going to be volunteering during the show. This means that he goes in before I can, but I've heard that GuRoos can bring in during-show volunteers so I was wondering if there was anybody who could get me in so I don't have to find a place to stay for the couple of days (Sunday and Monday nights) before I can get in. Or any other advice? Thanks everyone!

As things get closer and you have all your plans set in stone send them an e-mail explaining your situation and they will do their best to help you out.

Just applied to volunteer, since I can't afford a ticket this year. Doesn't mean i wouldn't be totally stoked to be a volunteer though. I am hoping with my 15 years experience as a master carpenter, and years as a touring musician they will see me as an asset they cant afford to pass up ! With visual design and decor, and maintenence still open, i could have a decent shot I suppose.. heres to hopin
Any chance that there is somebody in the New England-area who has a spot in their vehicle and is heading down on the Monday before the fest? PM me with details please!
