so i am looking at my options for getting my self to roo and i was wondering how limited are you in the stuff you can carry on greyhound bus?. i don't mind taking the bus or paying a little extra for an extra bag, but how much do they allow you carry. i don't want to limit my self on how much i can bring this is my first roo and i don't wanna leave anything i might need behind

They let you take two bags, a carry on bag and one they load under the bus (you can take more for an extra charge)....when I rode I had a really big gym bag that fit lots of stuff in it, and that went under the bus...then I just had a normal sized backpack with stuff that I would want with me on the bus...where are you riding in from??

Hi everyone, I'm new to Bonnaroo but I've volunteered at several other festivals before. I'll be working during show check in!
I'm going to be coming from Los Angeles without a car (most likely) and the ability to bring many supplies with me. Any groups feel like taking someone in? I'm nice, normal, and am willing to pitch in anyway I can.

Do any of you returning volunteers have a copy of the campground rules from last year? I'm trying to feel out the limitations.
They didn't give us any set of rules about the campground. We're expected to follow the same guidelines as the patrons on what we can't bring on to the site.
This page on the Bonnaroo site lists the items that are not allowed. They are serious about NO GLASS items allowed.
One thing they did say during the tuesday orientation meeting was to refrain from wandering around the farm when you are not working a shift. It's safety concern as there are a ton of vehicles going all over the place in the last couple of days before the gates open.
In years past, Pod 1 goes on lockdown after it fills up with Patrons on Wednesday. It's one of the first areas filled after the gates open since it shares the same roads as the RVs and vendors to access their campgrounds. It's frustrating how the area is blocked off to prevent anyone from leaving Pod 1 from Wednesday night to Thursday morning but again it's for safety reasons.

Pretty much same rules as everyone else. The only exception that I can recall is: due to it being volunteer camping, keep in mind that some of your neighbors may be sleeping late or having to go to bed early because of work schedules. There are no "official quiet hours, but please be considerate.
So, there's been a complication. My girlfriend and I just had a pretty nasty break-up. She offered to pay my Bonnaroo deposit since I was funding the $2000 spring break trip we took in March. I have reason to believe that she's going to try to refund my deposit. I've got the money to pay for another deposit but I don't want to los my current Croo assignment. What should I do?

E-mail the coordinators at volunteers@bonnaroo.com to see if they can swap the deposit for you and your ex-girlfrend. It's well before the deadline date for getting a deposit refund (May 17th) so it's likely they can help you out.
E-mail update sent out by the volunteer coordinators this afternoon.
The remaining C'roo openings left are with Toll Booths and Info/Pods. Both are During Show C'roos. Apply soon using the link below if you are on the fence about signing up.
Also, another HEADS UP: If you want in on the Google Doc to help meet people in your area, plan rideshares, and see who's on your Croo and/or eventually see what specific shift times people have, send me a PM with your gmail, so I can invite you to access it. Once you access, you can edit in all your info in the right place. I only need your gmail.

I explained to them the situation so I could just pay it myself an retain my Croo assignment, but apparently they yanked my spot a few days ago without even notifying me.

Were they able to add you back to the C'roo you were assigned?

Posting for anyone is still undecided about applying to be a Volunteer.....
The volunteer coordinators will likely take down the application link by the end of next week (April 11th). The only openings left are with the Tollbooths C'Roo. You will have until May 17th to pay the deposit to guarantee your spot.
Here's the description for Toll Booths C'roo (this is a During Show C'roo, all Pre-Show C'roos are full)
TOLL BOOTHS- Staffs the entrances to the festival and helps guide festival attendees from the entrance to their camping location. This is your chance to be on the front lines and watch the crowds roll in. They are the gate keepers to the entire Bonnaroo experience. (Only available DURING-Show)
• This C’roo may require overnight shifts • Will work one 12-hour shift and one 6-hour shift instead of three 6 hour shifts. All 12-hour shifts will be on Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday. • This C’roo will camp in a different location closer to the entrances of the campground.
We have a great Facebook group for Bonnaroo Volunteers where you can ask quests ions, request rideshares, and meet other volunteers who are going solo. Link : Bonnaroo Volunteer Facebook Group

so after being without a job for sometime i ended up taking a job that was ok with me taking off a week off for bonaroo. the job is deff beneath me in a sense that it is below my previous pay grade and work experience. ill try to suck it up with bonnaroo as the reward
Does anyone know if your schedule (in regards to the 3 bands you chose) is based on the date that your application went through? My app was accepted just a few minutes after they went live and the deposit paid minutes after, but now that they've redone my entire app, I'm worried that I won't get any of my preferences.

I'm not sure, but regardless when you put your app and preferences in, I'd say keep an open mind regardless, be patient, and have fun. They can't guarantee anything. I've applied early and paid early and had a shift scheduled during 1 of my top acts before (but luckily managed to get out early enough to run over there and see it in time but don't count on that). See what you can, doublecheck the band isn't playing a smaller stage another time during the weekend, and once shifts get assigned, you mayyy be able to swap with someone too. Keep that in mind as well. Good luck and enjoy!!

i think top bands help them schedule. least i think because i have a friend who applied for tollbooths as his first choice a day after i did. he filled out friend croo section and ended up on logistics and set up. only thing we did different was top bands

Hello fellow Bonnaroovians!!
This will be my 4th Roo, so I'm well conditioned to the farm life, but this is my first time volunteering... and I'm going alone! Can anyone maybe sum up what to expect on Tuesday and Wednesday? Will vendors be open that soon or should I plan to bring food for those days? Is the camping tent-only? My friends won't be on site until Wednesday and even though I know how amazing and beautiful the Bonnaroo community is, I can't help but feel a little anxious about going it alone. Has anyone else volunteered solo that could share a little about their experience??
