Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
This will be my 4th Roo, so I'm well conditioned to the farm life, but this is my first time volunteering... and I'm going alone! Can anyone maybe sum up what to expect on Tuesday and Wednesday? Will vendors be open that soon or should I plan to bring food for those days? Is the camping tent-only? My friends won't be on site until Wednesday and even though I know how amazing and beautiful the Bonnaroo community is, I can't help but feel a little anxious about going it alone. Has anyone else volunteered solo that could share a little about their experience??
Thank you!!
You're not the only one in that boat. I've started a co-op camp for Roo volunteers that are coming solo. There's 12 of us and we've all quickly become friends. Message me if you're interested.

The camping in volunteer campground is just the same as GA, you camp next to your car....bring plenty of food...and water! My first year I volunteered I was kinda grossed out by the sulfury taste of the water spickets in the campgrounds...so just bring plenty of food and drinking water and you will be alright!

Tuesday is like a big party. There's the catered dinner and everyone coming in, setting up camp, usually a lot of drinking. There are no vendors set up in pod 1, so make sure you have food for Tuesday and Wednesday. You are asked to not wander the grounds when you're not working so bring something to pass the time. I'm am not an outgoing person at all, and I had a blast with all my neighbors...you'll be fine, it's Bonnarooooo!!

Thanks for the advice guys! I get a little more excited every day! *high fives*
I wonder if it's pretty different in POD 1 main volunteering camp vs tollbooth/parking camp. I don't think I've been told not to wander and I do every year I've volunteered. We aren't fenced in though, and I thought vendors open earlier there (wed night at least since that's when the public comes). One downside to tollbooth camp is that the POD 6 vendors didn't seem to open until Thursday.

I was pre show so maybe that was why they asked us not to wander. The vendors come in Tuesday night into Wednesday but pod 1 is notoriously light on vendor food compared to some of the other pods...
ah ok. I thought maybe POD 1 would be ready first. I remember seeing the setup at POD 6 and some people working there around but not actually cooking/selling until Thursday. *shrug* I always assume I need food for Tues/Wed.
Also, they do the Tues bbq/"training" but the past few years it's only been 1 option, so be prepared in case you don't eat meat/pork/don't like it in general. It was a bbq pork sandwich with a bag of chips and some lemonade/sweet tea type drinks if I remember correctly. 2 BBQs (1 for each volunteer camp).

hey guys quick post for those needing a ride who are coming from the Georgia area. me and my friend will be leaving on tuesday morning and have a whole back seat open. plenty of space for those looking for a ride or needing a lift from grey hound. we can work something out for either gas money/beer/water or even some taco bell.
What's the difference between C'roo and Vibes, socially speaking? They treated differently?
Hopefully someone who has done both will chime in but I can say working on a C'roo is a fantastic way to make new friends and is perfect for anyone who is attending Bonnaroo solo.
Be sure to join the Bonnaroo Volunteers Facebook group as activity is ramping up with the festival less than 5 weeks away.

Hey everyone, I'm volunteering this year and am planning on showing up on tuesday as volunteers are suppose to, however my younger brother has been wanting to go the past couple of years and has finally built enough points in the street team to get a free ticket. He doesn't have a way of arriving so i was wandering if there was a way he could come with on tuesday even though he isn't a volunteer?

Asking on behalf of an acquaintance that is Volunteering this year.. Where, what time, and what day do the volunteers need to be at the festival grounds? Thanks!

Depends on what they signed up for. Post show you just need to meet up in VIP Monday afternoon.

Hate to be the bearer of bad news, but only volunteers are allowed onsite Tuesday. The gates will open on Wed (last year it was at 3pm)

From the C'Roo email I received......
Speaking of schedules, here is the schedule for arriving on site for During-Show volunteers on Tuesday, June 10th. Information about where to check-in and directions will be sent later (it's the same as last year for those that know). These are suggested arrival times divided by last name. It's not 100% required that you show up during your specific time but it is extremely helpful for us and for your wait time if you do.

so alright guys how far is the walk from pod 1 to pod 6. I'm doing tollbooths but me and my friend who's not doing tollbooths will camp at pod 1 since we kinda share some of the gear we are bringing. I got a 12 hour shift at east tollbooths on Wednesday. so would i have to walk all the way to pod 6 for shift checking then walk all to the way back to the east side do work my shift. thursday i work a 6 hour shift at west tollbooth so easy don't have to go back and forth. so my question I'm asking once i check in for shift do they offer a ride back to where i will be working or do i have to pay for a taxi.

Plan on about an hours walk from pod 1 to 6. I always find other people that are working the same shift and walk in a group, its more fun that way. From the tollbooth check-in they will golf cart you to wherever you will be working and at the end of your shift you will be taken back to tollbooth check-in.
SOMETIMES if they aren't too busy they will give you a ride back to pod 1 at the end of your shift, but don't be mad if they say they don't have time.

You may also be able to get a ride from volunteer HQ, but don't bet on it since all the other volunteers for tollbooth will already be in pod 6...

i don't mind legging it for two days. after all ill be done with shifts friday morning so i have 3 days free to play. i would move to pod 6 with my friend but he has his shifts spread out so he would be doing more running around than me. question do i only have to check in before my shifts or do i also have to go back and let em know i completed my shift for the day? also should i check in tuesday at tollbooth check-in will they be any info that i have to get from them or can i just stay in at pod 1 till i actually have my shift on wednesday.

You will check out after every shift or they will de-activate your wristband. If I were you I would walk out to pod 6 at some point before your shift just to know where it is and meet some people but you don't have to check in with anyone at the tollbooths until your first shift.

Hey all, did everyone get their shifts yet? I'm kind of upset about mine. It used to be that toll booths meant you had to do longer shifts but at least you were done by Friday at 8pm. That's why I like toll booths so much. I've volunteered twice at toll booths in the past. I wasn't able to volunteer last year when Bonnaroo took over the volunteering duties from WET. The new C'Roo system has me with a shift during most of my desired bands on Saturday 12pm - 6pm. Anyone out there willing to swap shifts with me? I will do anything. I will take a 12 hour shift for this 6 hour shift. I will take a Friday 12pm - 6pm shift. I will give you my first born. Please please please. Anyone willing to take a Saturday 12pm - 6pm shift?? Thanks!!

That guarantee changed once Bonnaroo took over after WET did it. WET said tolls would only have shifts through Friday, but now that's only guaranteed with Parking. (which is why I switched to Parking last year instead of tollbooths even though I like tolls better) If you look carefully at the Croo descriptions, it no longer states the Friday guarantee in there.
If you have Facebook, there are a lot of requests for shift switching going on, and I also highly recommend posting in/checking in on the Google Doc I've been organizing. (PM me your Google email if you're not already on there)
