So the people who put on TomorrowLand and having a second festival somewhere in the world that isn't Belgium. Someone sent me a link to a not reputable looking blog saying they heard it was going to be held at the Counter Point site. Being from Georgia I wouldn't mind this at all. Also it has the same dates as Counter Point last year.

I heard this as well. I'd love it. I was going to go to counterpoint this year anyways. Less Tiesto and Buuren and more Pretty Lights and Flying Lotus though, please.
There's another leak today from youredm.com and bandsintown that also say its going to be Atlanta...the leak was taken down but who knows...(fingers crossed!!)
It's definitely in Atlanta. My uncle called me last week, knowing im a lover of music festivals, and said he had a friend down in Atlanta right now mapping out some festival called tomorrowworld. he owns a catering business himself and i'm hoping he snags that backstage catering for the fest and i can score some backstage passes. *wishful thinking*

Can someone give a rundown of what's special/unique about Tomorrowland? I think I have a good idea, but I'd like to hear again why this is going to be distinct from all the EDCs or that white party they had in Brooklyn (whatever that was called).
Also, I really hope it isn't called Tomorrowworld. The Disney tie in is already kinda off putting.

Have you not seen the vid of the fest? I thought I posted it here ... cr****

Yeah I saw the video, but basically it just showed good looking people and art installations.
also keep in mind, while the overall chance is still VERY slim, if there is one US festival that had a remote chance of booking Daft Punk in 2013, it would be TomorrowWorld. they will either start their tour in late 2013 or 2014.

Thanks Manders. Don't all the DJs have to work their stage show to whatever theme Tomorrowland has developed for the fest? I can see the pros and cons to this but I think it'd be a huge con for Daft Punk.
I absolutely hate Swedish House Mafia. All they quacking do is stand there, fist pump, and brush their hair back. They are the worst.
I used to think the same thing, while still loving their music. However, I saw them live 5 days ago and it was the complete opposite. They are working the decks the entire time, and even had 2 drumsets on either side of the stage, and at multiple points during the show, 2 of them would drum live while 1 still worked the deck. and no laptops, all CDJs.
Phi, you are on point with the production and Daft Punk comments.
Best. Visuals. Ever.
What was cool, well a lot of bands are like this, but in some ways, if you were about half way in the audience, you might be in the best place. IDK, saw them 1st row RR, halfway Coachella, rail at Vegoose, yada yada, and each show was a bit different visually. Same with NIN imo ... cr****
If anyone catches a "for sure" somewhere on the web for Tomorrowland, please post ..... cr****
This is the only thing on the site. If you want background, ok, but it's nothing more than a bottle floating ......

I already posted above that its for sure happening.
No there's that silly bottle again. It looks like a for sure, but there is a ? even in the headline. I'm going with it so thanks. I will have a few weeks in between BMan and the Bridge Show in the Bay. It is going to be a funnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn summer. I'll add it to my sig too. My only question is: In the video, the bottle sinks. On the web site, it's floating, magic himmmm ... cr****

I was at Counterpoint and I was at Echo project which was on the same site 5 years prior. Counterpoint was dope a lot of fun but the rain in one day ruined the site grounds became very muddy only after an hour of rain. Word on the street through production friends are C3 productions which threw counterpoint are co producing with the Tomorrow Land company to do Tomorroworld. Counterpoint was the test run now its going to be bigger because counterpoint was succesfull. However the site isn't strong enough logistically and layout wise to handle more then 30k in my own opinion otherwise it will create bottlenecks and if bad weather hits the site is built for horses and rain water to travel canals along the roads and other areas so the site intentionally gets more wet and saturated for long periods of time.

I was at Echo Project and I thought I'd heard afterwards that attendance was around 30k people. It did not seem crowded at all, if anything it felt a bit sparse. I wonder how insanely fast the tickets will sell out?

Being new to the US who knows of course. If you look at the main you tube vid, it has like 18 MILLION or so views so yikes. Of course the ULTRA crowd will be up on it imo ... cr****
