Additions I would make to fill the missing genres in (this is without looking at tour dates to see if it's even possible)
Reggae/Reggae Rock Steel Pulse The Black Seeds
Hard Rock/Metal The Atomic Bitchwax Godhead Static-X Dethklok
Funk George Clinton & The Parliament Funkadelic The Meters
Jam (or bands that fit in a jam fest) Keller Williams Rusted Root The Macpodz Hot Tuna Electric Col Bruce Hampton Devon Allman's Honeytribe
Live Electronic/Alt Electronic EOTO Black Moth Super Rainbow Savoy (Live)
Blues Leon Russel
None of these acts are outrageous to name for additions (unlike someone saying a group like Daft Punk should be added which would never happen as an addition), and it would really make the lineup crazy diverse which is one reason I love Bonnroo. Most of their past lineups had a platter of every genre.
I think an NIN add may be more likely than we think... We know they have 1 show booked in the summer in the US - they certainly wouldn't have let Roo announce them before they had a chance to control their own news - there's a symmetry to them returning there (I would expect them to do some small secret warm up shows in L.A. before). It's probably more wishful thinking on my part, but I don't think it's too out of left field.
This is the first message board I've ever been on, the only reason I joined is because I love Bonnaroo and wanted to read and talk about it all year long.
^ That was a damn good show, especially when Dillinger escape plan joined them. I remember everybody collectively freaking out when he announced that, a guy behind me gave me all this free "Stuff"..hurt was beautiful . While its really unlikely i actually wouldn't be too suprised to hear they get added, id love it if they just opened up with.."So i may have said some things last time i was here.."
Black Moth Super Rainbow and Death From Above are both acts I've been dying to see..the former seems the most likely. They've played at moogfest so AC knows they exist
Bosnian rainbows! Saw them tonight in Toronto. Amazing! Would be a perfect late night add!
regretting not going to this show? How was it?
I loved it. Omar was great. Amazing guitar and he was rocking out hard most of the show. Great drums too. Biggest surprise was the lead singer Teri. She was amazing. Great stage presence. Good crowd and great sound too. Only downside was the show was a bit too short. I'm definitely seeing them again the next time I have a chance!
If NIN are touring in 2013 and 2014, I highly doubt they're going to kick that tour off in early Summer 2013, especially with Trent being busy with HTDA for most of Spring. Maybe they start touring in the Fall/early Winter, then do fests next year.
I wouldn't be surprised if they end up at Lolla. Gives Trent plenty of time to support HTDA.

I can't believe the new NIN includes Adrian freaking Belew. I should have seen this coming.
You know how pro musicians might have endorsements from other well-respected musicians and performers on their web page and stuff? Like how a lot of jazz musicians will have testimonials and quotes on their website from other jazz big shots? Adrian Belew used to have them on his website. When you opened the site all you saw was this:
"Adrian Belew Is The Greatest Musician Of All-Time" - Trent Reznor

According to Billboard they're already confirmed for Lolla.
Turtles are, actually quite sexy, if you think about it. I’m getting an erection just thinking about turtles. No, not a stripper named turtles, that’s not funny. Actual turtles.

What about Yeah Yeah Yeahs. I'm sorry if they've already been denied. I'm digging the new song Sacriledge, i feel like they're not TOO big to be an addition. I feel like if they were to get added they would be like the bigger name sort of liek Rod y Gab last year? Your thoughts??
I think last year's additions spoiled us. They were incredible additions and I don't see that being the continued trend. I look for Bonnaroo to go back to one decently big addition like NOFX, Public Enemy, Ween, and Cat Power. I could be wrong, but one year of lots of great additions doesn't lead me to believe it's a trend.
I've grown to like all the folk and indie stuff over the years, but I still enjoy the punk/hardcore/metal/etc I grew up on, so I hope they add a few more heavier bands..especially with Gaslight Anthem now gone
