I am upset with the lack of the punk and metal bands on this lineup as a whole.
I need at least one mosh pit, and at least a few bands I can throw the devil's horns up in the air and bang my head too!!!! This is ridiculous. Can someone please tell me what if any bands on the lineup I can check out to get my punk fix?

Come to Swans. I'll spin you around a few times, throw something at you, spit on you, and hit you upside the head with a frozen water bottle.

Yes Alo is a jam band and a good one and yes I'm used to bonnaroo being a classic rock/jamband/bluegrass festival. I have been from 02-06 so that's how I still picture it. I just need to realize that I'm getting old and the younger generations want something different. I just can't fathom wanting to listen to a guy behind a Mac book and a turntable and a bunch of lights. I'm not trying to troll just trying to realize that the roo has changed. I will go to roo with a open mind this year. It's weird though when I used to go there would be a band every year I never heard of and the next year they would win a Grammy.

Like Bon Iver, or Adele, or Mumford & Sons, or Booker T Jones, or The Civil Wars, or Alison Krauss & Union Station, or #continue list here.
Roo is still booking acts that are on the rise. All of the acts above were booked in the last 4 years and prior to winning Grammys. Not that Grammys are good metric for artist quality, but you mentioned it.
Aside - I'm beyond excited for Solange and Mac DeMarco. EotS will probably be a blast, and Polyphonic Spree is a big add for a lot of people. It's about what we expected, 1 big name and a few mid tier acts. I'm of the opinion this will be the last of additions since they mentioned the schedule in their official announcement, and not additional artists to come.

There are SO MANY great bands that don't perform on a computer playing at Roo this year.

How many bands are there that do? Animal Collective (which I don't think counts)?

I am not stoked with the main stage additions - cafe acts look good though. With that said, I am totally stoked about the "EDM" stage - round up all that "music" and those "artists" and keep them segregated from the rest of the festival. When I get my map I am just going to Sharpie out the entire EDM stage and forget that portion of Centeroo even exists.
In case you couldn't tell, I'm not big into the techno/electronica music scene
This is the first message board I've ever been on, the only reason I joined is because I love Bonnaroo and wanted to read and talk about it all year long.

I see what your saying but the beauty of Roo now is that it has something for everyone. We still have up and coming bands that play Roo, then get a Grammy. Mumford & Sons, Adele, Civil Wars, come right to mind. And in the past few years most acts are Hall of Fame inductees/worthy (RHCP, ZZ Top, Radiohead, Public Enemy, Pearl Jam, Beasties Boys, Bruce). But music has changed. The Black Keys won grammys. Jay Z won grammys.*Cringe*...Skrillex won a Grammy. Even The Roots won a Grammy. The gap might be more pronounced between HOF bands and Up and Coming Bands but there is still plenty of talent to check out every year and enough to where you dont have to go Rave with the younger folks to fill your schedule. Sadly Unchained was last year if ya missed it

I feel your pain because I love old school punk, but Death Grips, Swans, Earl Sweatshirt, and White Lung are all going to have mosh pits most likely.
Seriously why is no one else excited about White Lung?

James McCartney (35), Dhani Harrison (34), Sean Lennon (37), and Zak Starkey (47) should do a tour. It's probably the exact opposite of what any of them want to do in the shadow of their fathers, but It'd be pretty cool.
