Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
It's a crime against humanity that there is no Petty thread yet.
If Tom and the boys do indeed close down the fest as rumored, this could very well be my most anticipated set of the entire weekend. Mike Campbell and Benmont are gonna blow some minds.
What songs are you guys hopin' for?
Not really Tennessee-appropriate, but I hope they bust out "Drivin' Down to Georgia". Nothing gets a crowd rockin' like this good ol' fashioned rave-up!

They've always put on a good show. They aren't the best show you'll ever see, but you'll know all the songs. He did three encores the last time I saw him in 2008, should be a good show in this atmosphere. I don't think I'll hear as many complaints about the "fog" that will likely be descending.
I just wanna hear Into the Great Wide Open. Didn't play it the first time I saw them, I'm still bitter.
He has certain songs that he will only play on certain guitars. He is eccentric, but whatever. I'm not sure if that song is one of them, maybe he was just waiting for Eddie to finish high school.

Really? Where was this show?
Grand Rapids Michigan. Me, the old lady, and our roommate went. Had a great time. I think he said it was the last show of that tour, maybe it was one of the other shows I saw there that said that. But it was a really good show. He sang everything.
I saw several good bands there. Foo fighters, kid rock, Marshall mathers.

So I was driving home from work last night...On the radio was a Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers song....Never heard it before...its called "Even the Losers"
Just the title reminds me of a punk anthem type of song. It's an interesting song to hear. If you're on youtube. give it a listen.

Don't let the fun stop there. While terribly dated at times, I still love this album.

Ha ha. This just struck me as funny. My fave is "You Tell Me" off of Torpedoes. Another good one is Louisiana Rain--great to sing along to.

They get lucky sometimes Seriously, Their greatest hits album is a must own for me, that along with Queen. Some folks make fun of me for the older music I listen to, but I listen to the newer stuff as well. Good music is good music, IMO.
Oh baby, you guys see these tour dates??? Five-night stands in New York and LA leading DIRECTLY into their Bonnaroo show! I smell some deep cuts!
Rolling Stone confirms that they are playing the 16th at Bonnaroo.
Also from Rolling Stone:
"I don't want to do a 'greatest hits' night," Petty says. "We should push ourselves, do things we don't even remember. It's about getting the best out of the band and to show people there are a lot of sides to us, the different kinds of music this band can play. We are a very good blues band. And we're a pretty good bluegrass band, believe it or not. We just don't get a chance to do that very much. You only get so much time in a concert – you can't do everything in one night. But I'm just gonna go where the wind blows us."
I had the immense pleasure of seeing tom petty twice in the late 90s. absolutely unbelievable sets. for me this will be a must see show. I know all the songs and the band jams real hard . i cant wait.
We should push ourselves, do things we don't even remember.
This sounds amazing. It's refreshing to hear a legend not wanting to rest on his laurels, and all the better that we'll get to witness the fruits in June.

Saw Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, back in 2007 with Special Guest Stevie Nicks... wow what a great show it was and tom played all the songs you'd want and more then throw in the Stop Draggin my Heart Around and a few others with stevie and it was one of the greatest shows I've ever seen
Petty is from Gainesville, and I have yet to see him in live. I can soon check that off the list. I am excited for this show. Many great songs! I feel I could go to this show and be able to sing along with 90%+ of the songs they will perform.
Would like to hear: Honey Bee MJ's Last Dance Free Ballin' and many, many others
