A quick by the numbers of the Hangout set. 4 covers, 5 songs from Full Moon Fever, 4 songs since 1991(that's 4 songs total from every release he's had since 91). That's leaves 6 songs from the first 7 releases of Petty's career. Kinda boring yes.
Okay, seriously tho, Petty is living up to his word and THEN SOME with these setlists so far. He busted out "When the Time Comes" last night, one of the most underrated Petty tunes out there and one I'd never thought he'd ever play again. BRING IT TO THE FARM!
Saw Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, back in 2007 with Special Guest Stevie Nicks... wow what a great show it was and tom played all the songs you'd want and more then throw in the Stop Draggin my Heart Around and a few others with stevie and it was one of the greatest shows I've ever seen
It makes me so sad that I was too young and inexperienced when this happened. Here we are six years later and I'm certain nothing would be more amazing. Im jealous of everyone who witnessed this.

I caught the 2008 tour and he did not have Stevie Nicks with him. Disappointing but still an amazing show considering I was in the front row.

I went to Hangout and didn't really expect to be blown away by Petty, but holy shit he was one of the best performances the whole weekend- the best headliner for sure (stevie was good but BIZARRE)
I expected them to be more of a legacy act in the fact that they wouldn't bring the heat- but DAMN did they rock the fack out. Super tight, get excited for this at the 'Roo he comes to play

I've really only been disappointed with a petty show once, and that was probably more then likely because of the people I was forced to attend with.
He doesn't have anything you haven't heard before, but his live shows are an event, IMO.

Kinda suprised to not see "Even the Losers" and "You Don't Know How it Feels" on that Hangout setlist. Hope we get those i feel like thats not even asking too much.
I still don't get why theyre bringin in Tom Petty though, he's really old?
When Pretty Lights gets a headlining spot during an almost 40 year career will you still be so interested in him? Now, we both know this is a silly question because there's no chance of that!
The question you should be asking yourself is why you bought a ticket to a festival that you dislike their major choices. Expand your mind. He'll be playing unopossed anyway so give it a listen.
The Live in Jacksonville concert is on AXS TV right now and I am getting giddy over seeing these songs played live. An extended jam on It's Good To Be King would be too much for me to handle.

Honestly you probably wouldn't like many of their choices for Sunday headliner! Just take advantage and leave early, or go back of camp and hang out meet some new people wander around centeroo one last time buy all the stuff everyone is trying to get rid of cheap so they don't have to drive home with it! Be creative and stay positive, there is a ton of stuff to do Sunday night on the farm.
me I don't care for Mumford. I am going to use that great opportunity to get a awesome spot for the dance party superjam! I am glad I don't like the Saturday headliner. I would hate showing up to the tent a half hour or twenty minutes before the super jam only to find myself on the outside looking in. It will be bad enough doing that for zz top.
Looks like he did "Girl on LSD" on 5/26. Only time he's done it this year and I'm guessing we'll get much more of a "hits" set like Hangout did, but it makes me hopeful that he at least still knows the song and it's in the realm of possibility at Roo.

Please play Runnin' Down A Dream Please play Runnin' Down A Dream Please play Runnin' Down A Dream Please play Runnin' Down A Dream Please play Runnin' Down A Dream Please play Runnin' Down A Dream Please play Runnin' Down A Dream Please play Runnin' Down A Dream Please play Runnin' Down A Dream
The only reason Petty is breaking out obscure songs is because he just played 5 nights in a row in NY and now 6 nights in LA. Can't really play the same setlist every night under those circumstances. More motivation to see more than one show with different setlists. Whatever he plays is ok with me. I have some favorites but nothing that would make me die a happy man type stuff. Actually there is no song that would make me die happy.
