When you have enough people within 2 hours to easily sellout your festival without requiring anyone to travel, you are going to sellout very easily when you add in the people that do travel. Roo has to draw people from 9, 10 and more hours away to sellout which creates an entirely different marketplace for tickets.
There will be a lot of people there so unless you have money invested in the festival and are looking to maximize your return, I am not sure why you would think it is embarrassing or concerning for it not to be sold out. It is one of the biggest festivals in the US and that isnt going to change unless they make massive changes in the type of festival that it is and start booking nothing but tribute bands with Unchained as the headliner.
Turtles are, actually quite sexy, if you think about it. I’m getting an erection just thinking about turtles. No, not a stripper named turtles, that’s not funny. Actual turtles.

I found your serious response hilarious. Please don't be offended .
Personally, I'm glad Bonnaroo doesn't sell out in minutes or hours. Gives me time to save up after I know who's playing.
I think the main reason Bonnaroo doesn't sell out as quick is that it's not near a major metropolitan area. Coachella is two hours outside of one of the most populous cities in the country. Lollapalooza is in one of the most populous cities in the country. The closest metropolitan area to Bonnaroo is Nashville and, while it's certainly a big city, it pales in comparison to LA and Chicago.
As for Atlanta being three hours away, another difference is that Bonnaroo is a camping festival, so I'm sure that hampers some peoples' desire to go.

Lollapalooza this year has a very weak lineup compared to years past except for the killers so I dont understand the mass purchases. The hangout is better bang for the buck, kings of leon will play old stuff still so why complain. I love that we got bob saget and rkelly this year. But mumford is sickening wouldnt you have king of leon over them..eh dont answer that. If kid cud is added then bonnaroo will be tight late night cudi and portugal the man would be E P IC

Sorry to interrupt your popcorn party for a post related to title of this thread, but WHATDAFUQ.... I guess ticket sales sucked so bad that Bonnaroo had to start paying tithes to the devil?!?!
^Hmm, that does seem strange. I could be making this up, but for some reason this seems vaguely familiar as if I saw it last year as well. I don't know, I'm tired.

I remember it was listed on ticketmaster last year, but it brought you to a "Re-directing you to Partner Site". I think this is the first time you actually go through the ticketmaster spiel for ticket purchases.

GRRR, but yeah that was to be expected. I have an intense seething hatred for ticketbasterd, I make it a point to go to the venues in town and buy my tickets at the box office even if TM's fees are less than the gas I'll burn driving out there. Because seriously FUCK those guys.
Going by the VIP tickets sold out thread, and looking trough this thread (ignoring all the popcorn), it would seem the old fat guy headliner theory may be coming true. Old people with lots of money are going to over run Bonnaroo this year, while the disinterested youth will stay clear. There will be no late night acts, because everyone will be in bed by 11, and up at 6:30 for pancake breakfast. There will be multiple golf cart related fatalities, and the volume at all the stages and tents will be turned way down, and you thought lines moved at a snails pace before? So just be ready folks, because its becoming all too clear, that PAUL McCARTNEY HAS RUINED BONNAROO!!!!!

Who are you kidding? Those old people are going to mow your Canadian @ss down to get to Paul. And they are all on Viagra, so they will be up all night making whoopee. They don't eat pancakes. Bad for the cholesterol. Oat meal, and lots of it.
