Going by the VIP tickets sold out thread, and looking trough this thread (ignoring all the popcorn), it would seem the old fat guy headliner theory may be coming true. Old people with lots of money are going to over run Bonnaroo this year, while the disinterested youth will stay clear. There will be no late night acts, because everyone will be in bed by 11, and up at 6:30 for pancake breakfast. There will be multiple golf cart related fatalities, and the volume at all the stages and tents will be turned way down, and you thought lines moved at a snails pace before? So just be ready folks, because its becoming all too clear, that PAUL McCARTNEY HAS RUINED BONNAROO!
Who are you kidding? Those old people are going to mow your Canadian @ss down to get to Paul. And they are all on Viagra, so they will be up all night making whoopee. They don't eat pancakes. Bad for the cholesterol. Oat meal, and lots of it.
This. Plus oatmeal is a good source of fiber too to help get you cleaned out for a new day!

Oatmeal, aka my delivery device for brown sugar and cinnamon, is excellent.

Wise panda indeed. I accept all corrections.
For the record, I was made quite aware of the grey hairs ability to throw down and show up the youngins last year during Kenny Rogers set. Next time I'll just stay off their lawn...
Honestly, there are more chicks digging this lineup young and old than probably any other lineup before. Just instagram #bonnaroo2013 #bonnaroobound or #bonnaroo. It seems to me whomever is in charge of choosing the acts may also be a female. Old people at bonnaroo know how to party, but this will not be the big slice of the bonnaroo demographic, Mark my word it will be Women 18-24. Any band that plays the main stage that 80,000+ can sing too in unison is a win to me.

Could be that your sample population is mostly young women. All the old fat-heads going to see Paul & co arent on instagram, that sh*t is for teeny-boppers.
Weren't there lots of complaints about too many bros just a few months ago?
I don't see the bad thing about bros. They are the ultimate security for your camp, They see there nieghbors as friends just like everyone else and if your friends with a "bro", they will not let someone touch your stuff that they haven't met. I shotgunned a beer with a group of bros once and later that day they got me out of trouble with some cops for underage drinking. I don't know how they do it but regardless of a "bros" state of mind they can talk to authority figures like best friends. If you actually go up and talk to some of them, they can be as cool as anyone else. They can be intimidating but if you go up there with a beer in hand and say whats up and cheers, you'll be best friends in no time

Some of my best friends are bros!

finally, a lot of cops are just bros.

This is such a random post. I kind of love the conclusions that are reached simply from searching bonnaroo hash tags on Instagram.
Important dates thread has last years sell out date as the day before the festival. I highly doubt they will cancel on us. Too much bad publicity and it would cost too much money. Sponsors would be pissed. fans would be pissed. I guess if they only sold a small amount of tickets they might have no choice, as long as they break even or even lose a couple million it would cost more to cancel than to hold the show. they do a lot of festivals an AC superfly would still be profitable even if one festival lost money. Their reputation would be shizz though if they cancelled and sponsors would bolt like nothing else. Remember woodstock didn't break even till 1980!

...really?
Yeah, they're totally going to cancel this thing @luvdatroo. You're only setting yourself up for a let down.

At least we have plenty of other fests to choose from if Roo does get canceled. Unless they get canceled... that would really be something. The other big festivals usually sell out right away, so you know they're good.

I have inside sources that have given me some pretty cool news! Everyone knows that this years Bonnaroo is one of their slowest selling years EVER! So promoters are scrambling to come up with something to generate some buzz, and ultimately lead to more ticket sales. Well here's what they came up with. They're going to scrap the whole Paul McCartney idea and replace him with a Hulk Hogan versus Rick Flair Yappapi Indian strap match!!!! And if that wasn't enough, they will be playing the Dark Side of the Moon in its entirety during the match! Keep watching Bonnaroo.com for further details!

The tickets at the holiday sale sold out in about 2.5 seconds (possibly a slight exaggeration, but it was super fast). Every tier ticket for sale sold out about 5 seconds after they went on sale in February. VIP tickets are nearly sold out. I'm confused as to why people think this is a slow year for 'Roo.
Bonnaroo is the largest festival of all the regular festivals (Coachella is close, but still about 10k behind) and it's in a far less convenient location than most of the others. It makes sense that, with more tickets and a less convenient location, it's difficult to sell 'Roo out. That doesn't mean they don't get the crowds they are expecting or that it's less popular. It just means Bonnaroo has a TON of space to work with, allowing them to have a much higher head-count before the event is considered "sold-out." According to articles, there were over 100k people there last year, but Pod 11 was empty. From my understanding, since the last sell-out, Bonnaroo has upped tickets by 20k so... yeah, if Bonnaroo sells out, that means they not only have 20k more people than two years ago, but they also have at least 10k more than Coachella.

Put that in your proverbial pipe and smoke it!
I don't really follow...
Bonnaroo is harder to sell out because they have a lot more tickets available than other festivals. Even with a higher attendance than Coachella (90k+ in 2012), Bonnaroo (100k+ in 2012) still doesn't sell out. Thus, even if Bonnaroo does not sell out this year, that is not an indication that ticket sales are slow, but rather that Bonnaroo has a very large attendance threshold.

I went ahead and bolded all of the parts I didn't understand.

Look at it this way: I have 90 Katy Perry t-shirts (ie Coachella tickets). I have 115 WSP t-shirts (ie Bonnaroo tickets). If I sell all 90 of my Katy Perry t-shirts, but I only sell 105 of my WSP t-shirts it doesn't mean that the Katy Perry shirts are more popular (as people are using Coachella and other venues selling out to suggest Bonnaroo is less popular or suffering in ticket sales this year). It means I have a larger supply of WSP t-shirts (ie Bonnaroo has thousands more tickets available than other festivals).

I've always thought that Bonnaroo should give out T-shirts. The ticket is 300$! It's cool that they are giving out shirts now. I didn't know Coachella did that.
