1. What is the US Cellular Center Basement? 2. That Sunday lineup is weak, I wish I hadn't booked my flight for Monday already. Also, why did they not start the festival Thursday and utilize Sunday as a full day?
3. *For anyone considering single day or 5day music only tix* - I am looking to sell 2 extra music only tickets to a rooster at a significant discount, message me if interested!

The US Cellular Center basement is the big open area under the main arena. It's been used before for certain events. For the first two years of the old Moogfest, it was utilized as a staging/entrance/line area. As for the answer to your other question, I have no idea other than maybe they want to keep people around the Moog brand and the city longer?

weird how they listed that, but not US Cellular Center again separately. Would they really not have shows there?

US Cellular Center main venue is extremely expensive to operate, as you'd have to employ all that security, custodial, vendor, drink, food, etc. I wouldn't be surprised at all to see just the basement used. It'd be a better club atmosphere anyways.

I'm just worried about headliner shows hitting capacity quicker if the biggest venue is not all that big

I agree with this. So, I'm guessing the bigger headliners will all have to be outside (unless they actually do use the USCC main)?

Yeah, exactly. You can't put MIA and such in the Thomas Wolfe, can you?
I think they can and they will. Speaking of the basement the DFA showcase is going to be there. That's going to be such a party. www.windishagency.com/artists/factory_floor
Damn, I think I'm going to have to get a Friday pass... maybe a Saturday too, but we'll see. Really, though, those two Kraftwerk sets on Friday alone make the day pass more than a good deal for me... throw on top one of my favorite rappers of all time in Q Tip and Moroder ,who I have different opinions on depending on what work specifically (don't get me started on his version of Metropolis), but is still an all time great, and I'm totally sold.
Hostel booked. Sweet Peas was booked up, but they recommended Bon Paul and Sharky's, which had great reviews. Looks like I'll have to drive in each day, but I'm glad to have a room booked. Totally pumped for the fest. Coming in Wednesday, leaving Sunday night, depending on when the music is (would like to be able to at least catch Just Blaze's set)

One of the things I'm most excited for with this festival is the strong visual element. A lot of the acts have really great visuals/light shows that I'm excited to see (I'll try and post some videos later.)
Highly recommend Heads On Sticks, who are playing Saturday. They're from Raleigh and I've see them several times. Great psych-pop with a whole lot of other strains of music, from electronic to dub.

I'm probably one of the few Asheville noobs heading to this fest, but if anyone is interested I've put together a custom google map with pin drops for Music Venues, Breweries, Bars, and Restaurants. If anyone who's been before wants to take a look at my list and let me know what I'm missing that would be cool too!
Been wondering this, as well. Future Islands are playing in Carrboro that Sunday, which is on my way home, so I'd like to hit that up, but I also want to catch Just Blaze.
I am starting to get worried about headliners hitting capacity ridiculously early since there is no arena.
I can't imagine them putting headliners in a venue that can't hold everyone. Wouldn't be good PR.
Super pumped about visiting the arcade (the actual arcade with video games, which I'm fairly certain is in the part of town called the "Arcade") and the pinball museum. Might try and hit up the Blue Ridge Parkway on Sunday, schedule permitting.

I agree it wouldn't be good PR, but they DMed me on Twitter and said, "All venues are first come first serve for GA ticket holders. VIP ticket holders have priority entrance. That is why we suggest to arrive early! thank you."
If anyone has a downtown inn and suites reservation they are going to cancel please let us know. We are looking to do this at the last minute and struggling to find nearby affordable accommodations. Also, if anyone has tickets they are looking to sell we may be interested in those also. Thanks.
