Yeah, at first, I laughed a little when they announced the move of dates. Then, I saw that Movement was involved and realized that this may be serious business.
I just saw on the local Asheville news that Moog Music is changing it's parking lot into a permanent outdoor seating venue for 2000 people. I'm excited to see what this new festival will be like next year.

Here's the line-up for this year's Movement Festival which is the main festival by Paxahau, the new promoter for the festival. I don't know how much the two will intersect lineup-wise, but it gives you an idea of the acts they can book.
So I just got back from an amazing Flying Lotus concert at the Orange Peel. He did autographs after the show and I got to meet him and talk to him. He was wearing a Moogfest 2014 shirt, so I asked him if he would be back for the festival because of the shirt. His answer was "Yeah I'll be there. Yeah!". If FlyLo is there, I'm there. The new 3D set-up is by far the best visuals I have seen for a show. He did about 5 Captain Murphy songs including rapping over TNGHT. He did a Backseat Freestyle mix that was incredible. DO NOT MISS THIS TOUR!
Man, f*ckin FIVE days. Ughhhh. Combined with Coachella this is going to make getting the time off near impossible. Not to mention a hotel for that many nights.

"-Moogfest update: Word on the street is that the Moog Music folks will be releasing more details of next spring’s Moogfest next week. Folks will recall that Moogfest isn’t happening this year after Moog Music parted ways with AC Entertainment, the outfit that had booked/promoted the event the past few years. (AC Entertainment is forging ahead with its own electronic dance music festival this October; it’s called Mountain Oasis Music Summit.) Moogfest is developing as a four or five day event that will feature a series of panel discussions and workshops, as well as great music, according to what I’ve heard. There have been lots of comparisons to a SXSW approach to the event. Moogfest next year will also include a technology job fair, which I’m sure will be welcomed with open arms in Asheville."
The countdown has begun: Moogfest 2014 has significantly evolved.
Tomorrow we start telling you what's coming... in 30 days we start telling you who's coming.
#Moogfest 2014 // April 23-27 // #Asheville, NC
just noticed that it's Wed.-Sun. Counterpoint is that weekend. they will probably share acts.
Some but not a ton. I think they will both be electronic festivals but have different themes. Counterpoint will be @ntellier85 while Moogfest will be nodepression.

That difference could also be described as untz untz vs bleep bloop!
Also, if Coachella's lineup doesn't blow my hair back, I'm totally going to this. Asheville is amazing, plus it would be cool to go to an inaugural festival.

So Counterpoint is going to be punk, hardcore and metal?
