I agree it wouldn't be good PR, but they DMed me on Twitter and said, "All venues are first come first serve for GA ticket holders. VIP ticket holders have priority entrance. That is why we suggest to arrive early! thank you."
Interesting. I guess we'll see if/when they release a schedule. Kraftwerk, Moroder, Chic, Moderat, M.I.A., and FlyLo are all must-sees for me. It'd be a shame if I couldn't get in.
Yep, and just days after I bought my ticket... I don't think that would have dissuaded me from getting one, though. One of my all time favorite rappers, but oh well... first Tricky, now him.
I remember when he did his solo before the encore at the Beastie Boys show at Bonnaroo in '09. Kept saying "holy shit" to myself. The guy is absolutely incredible.

Daily schedule is out. Just click on the artist and you can see when they are scheduled to play. Really bummed about the Gaslamp Killa/ Moderat conflict. #moogfestproblems

I wouldn't recommend Giorgio unless he's gotten better since November. Many people at HARD Day of the Dead said he couldn't DJ to save his life and someone had to come up on stage to help him.

Thanks for the tip. Really intrigued by what attendance will be like on Wednesday. I'd love to swing Pet Shop Boys into FlyLo, but I'm wondering if you pretty much need to see El-P in order to have a spot at the orange peel for FlyLo.
Hmm, schedule isn't too bad for Friday night... however, I doubt I'd be able to rush it out of the first Krafwerk show to catch the last bit of Lapalux, and capacity for Moderat is a definite concern. Whether or not Kraftwerk play different enough sets could still dictate how my entire night goes.

Can someone explain the USCC basement as a venue to me? It was mentioned earlier as the "big open area under the main arena," but I'm still trying to wrap my head around it. I've been to Moogfest and to MOEMS before, so I know the venue - is this just like the main/floor section indoors w/o access to the seating, concessions, etc. around it and upstairs? Or is this something else? This is indoors, right?

If you were at MoogFest in 2010 or 2011 (missed 2012 and MOEMS), it's the area you entered the complex from on the side. Really interested to see what they do with the space. Could be a really cool venue.
Our piece of shit governor is part of the panel on Wednesday...

Since you are pretty knowledgeable about the venues, do you think you could share your thoughts on what shows will hit capacity / how early to arrive to see certain artists, etc? Would be much appreciated.
Oh, and any food / beer recommendations are always welcome too.

My schedule. So many tough conflicts. I feel bad for the lesser known artists at this fest, I feel no one will be at their sets since the venues are far away. Also sad the Masonic Temple isn't being used like they said.
WEDNESDAY:
C Powers > Nick Monaco > Pet Shop Boys > No Regular Play > Flying Lotus > Soul Clap
THURSDAY:
Ataxia > Kraftwerk > Tiga > Sasha > Audion > Art Department > Green Velvet
FRIDAY:
Mix Master Mike > Mike Simonetti > Giorgio Moroder > Bottin > Thugfucker > Moderat > Dillon Francis
SATURDAY:
Two Fresh > Eliot Lipps > CHIC > Les Sins > Escort > Mark Farina > Factory Floor

Very nice. Our Saturdays are identical. I take it with your credentials you wont need to wait in line? Hence the ability to see people like FlyLo and Moderat right after other sets?

To be honest, really don't know. Depends on how many tickets they sell. The only venues I have been to are Thomas Wolfe and The Orange Peel. Wolfe is a large auditorium. The Orange Peel is a large club. Not sure of exact capacities. I've been by Asheville Music Hall and it is very small (300 capacity tops.) If it's a must-see, I'd say get there 30-45 minutes ahead of time. But like I said, it depends on ticket sales, as well as how much the crowd is spread out between venues. I'm not going to worry about it. Plan on figuring it out when I get there.
I haven't eaten at many places in Asheville (or can't remember them, at least.) The only one I remember is a pub-type place down the street from Thomas Wolfe/USCC (Bier Garten?) It was standard bar fare, from what I remember. Not bad, but not great. I know Asheville has a lot of breweries and I plan on checking a couple out.
There is also a pinball museum in Asheville I'm super pumped about visiting ($10, all you can play), as well as a badass arcade with a ton of games from the 70's/80's/90's/00's (and beer)
If you have any free time, it'd be an excellent time of year to cruise the Blue Ridge Parkway, which has absolutely stunning views.

Yup. Though I still plan on getting to Moderat early. Not really a "photo pit" at DWT so I still want to have a good spot.
