Hi Dana- funny how we meet in a couple of threads!! Anyway, I was just curious about the companion car and the one I'm riding in. Will both be close by or does one car have to camp where I am? Do I use my own tent with the electrical hook-up? Also, how's the fuzz? The companion car riders are wondering about car searches, etc. Is it more stringent if people arrive early and for Access...evidently the crowd was so heavy for general camping last year that very little was done- just a few questions and "open your trunk," kind of thing....
Anyone planning to arrive wednesda yafternoon for access camping? My buddy and I will be at the Walmart in manchester by Wednesday afternoon we should look for the window things so we can caravan inand camp together. Though I guess there won't be that many access people going in wednesday and we should all be very close anyhow!
I'll be there Wednesday. Anyone else who is coming Wednesday should totally try to meet up at Wal Mart. Not sure how we should flag each other down. Ideas?
I am going to have some sheets of paper with inforoo access on them tape tithe windshield when we get to Walmart. We will be in a big dodge pick up.
So what's the deal with check points going into Access?
Apparently, you need to go in one of the west tollbooths. When you roll up, there will be one lane to the left or right that is marked as access. Line up there. I don't know if their search is any different. Also, if you have a companion coming with you, they need to be right behind you in line.
Thanks- companion car wants to know how thorough the search is- does anyone know?
I would imagine it's the same as all the other searches, considering it's just a different tollbooth and not an entirely different entrance altogether.
Thanks- my son and friends were wanting me to reconsider regular GA camping saying this is to mich trouble but I got my Dr's note in today and asked if I had a long enough extension cord if I can string it back and we all camp together. ?? I think the main concern is the amount of beer- a couple of gutys in the group dont turn 21 for a couple of months.

If you're all coming in 2 cars, so the Access car and companion car, why don't y'all just camp in Access? Your son & friends would probably love being closer to Centeroo

Thanks everyone...Okay, the next question... LOL My car has myself, my brother-in-law and 2 guys who are actually with my son (much younger)...other car has 4 guys. I understand there is only enough room for one tent/one car in one spot... it this more crowded than general camping? Tents are 2 man tents...ughhhh.... If I get this issue sorted and we bring larger tents (4 to a tent) can I camp with everyone in my group if I stretch a long extension cord? I've asked this question to Access@bonnaroo but they never answered it.

I don't think it's more crowded they just have limited sites with electricity available. I assume you'd have enough room for two 2-man tents since most people bring larger tents anyway. If you're in Access for use of a CPAP then you may not be able to camp with the rest of your group but they will be close by in one of the sites that does not have the electrical hookup. It's just a matter of where you sleep. That's not to say that you can't hang out, cook/eat, party in one camp site together.
Thanks buddy- was really hoping I could stretch out a long extension cord and still camp with them... Will be sort of rough being split up 2 at one site and 6 at the other....one will have plenty of space and the other will be truly cramped, even if we are close by.

I'd say make the site with 2 people the one where everyone hangs out during waking hours. Since presumably you will have more space for shade and seating and coolers.
Great answer from Laura at Access!! Put both cars where the companion car is and we have more room for our campsite where the power plugs are!!! Bonnaroo is going to be great!!!

Everyone coming on Wednesday look for the impromptu Wednesday Access meetup thread and jump in. We want to make sure that everyone gets a chance to meet up and camp close to each other if they're coming on Wednesday.
Having a little freakout here. I didn't go to Roo last year, and I found out just two days ago that they have changed the rules for Access Camping, where you have to apply now. Needless to say, finding this information out only two days ago, I didn't apply in time. I wrote Laura, as suggested by someone, at 'access at bonnaroo dot com', but two days have passed now without word. I hesitate to write her again, don't want to bother the poor lady, but I see other people saying that they got their issue figured out within the same day, so I begin to worry. The last two times I went to Roo, in 2011 and 2010, being in Access made ALL the difference in my enjoyment of the experience. I am not physically able to march for miles across the campgrounds every day, navigating Centeroo is enough of a challenge. Any advice? Should I write her again? Should I just chill out and give it another day or two? Time is running out, and I'm getting stressed.

If you have a state issued handicapped placard (either permanent or temporary) bring it. All you need from Laura is the Bonnaroo access hang tag which is literally just a tag with a big 'A' on it and directions for which exits to use. If she doesn't get back to you with that I'm sure someone here can email you a copy.
Right on, the Roo site kinda makes it sound like if you don't have the Roo-issued hang tag then you're out of luck, but I was hoping it was more like you say. If someone wants to go ahead and email me that tag now, just so I can stop worrying about it, that would be super radical and I would surely owe that person a drink or some corn or something.
My email address is weenblow at gmail dot com. And don't take that the wrong way, I'm a devout Ween fan. haha

Haha yeah I haven't been around the ol' Inforoo much in the past couple of years. I didn't go to Roo last year, hit up Waka instead (had a free VIP pass or I would have likely chosen Roo instead). I wasn't planning on going to Roo this year but I had a moment of clarity a month or so ago and immediately bought two tickets. haha

And of course, Laura just got back to me and told me not to worry and sent me the hang tag. Apparently, you don't NEED to pre-register for Access at all. Got to work on keeping my anxiety levels in check.
I injured my back and asked on the facebook inforoo group what to do and was directed to e-mail Laura and see if she could help. This was on Monday and I've not received a reply yet, is it time to panic?
