After spending the majority of this morning listening to The Pixies, I'd like to say that I'm really f*cking stoked. It's going to be different but change is good, right?

Not sure why some of you feel it necessary for GV to take preemptive measures in booking NIN as headliner? Phoenix headlined last year, remember? (who didn't even headline Beale street and were 7th on the ACL lineup)
They (like all festivals) bill their lineup according to the demographic of it's attendees. Coachella will obviously sell out regardless. They can practically do whatever they want at this point even if that means.. AF - NIN - & Eminem (when Andre 3000 tells everyone to go fuk themselves).

I'd pretty much put money on Outkast - AF - NIN at this point, and I couldn't be happier about that. I've decided I'm doing it this year. Weekend 2. I loved it in 2012, and I have a friend who just moved to LA for a year, so I'll have a ride from the airport and a place to crash.
In fact, I think I'm gonna hit the festival trifecta this year: Bonnaroo, Coachella, and Lolla. I've been to each, but never all in the same year. Plus I already have a Hangout ticket. I may end up hitting a record number of festivals (for me) next year!

Damn. The Pixies need to stay away from people named Kim like Jeff Tweedy needs to stay away from people named Jay.
holls, popsicle sarah & I saw the Pixies a couple years ago in Knoxville, at one of Kim Deal's last shows. She looked and played like she had taken an entire boatload of Ambien immediately beforehand. I appreciate her work on the classic albums, but I won't pretend like she was bringing a lot to the table for the Pixies as they are today.
I don't know what their reasons were for axing the new bassist, but it certainly sounds like it was their choice, not hers. Given the number of songs Kim sang on, whoever replaces her will pretty much have to be a female bassist, which does limit things significantly. I'm keeping my fingers crossed this is just a bump in the road and not the beginning of the end (again).
The only headliner I saw in 2013 was Blur. There will be plenty for you guys to see while Muse is slaying the Coachella stage. The upside of having opposed headliners.
