Oh, well I'm kind of latching onto an existing group, and they always go Weekend 1, so I'm going Weekend 1. Staying in a Villa in Palm Springs with 10 people I don't know in addition to my best friend from home. Flying out the weekend before Coach, staying in LA the first half of my trip, then going to Coach and leaving Monday/Tuesday after Wknd #1.

If you are staying in LA the first half of your trip, there will be some good "Local-Chella" shows. Always is. The Fonda, El Rey, Wiltern, Palladium, and Fox Pomona are excellent venues and GV tends to always have tons of good shows around Coachella time.

Thanks. My buddy isn't big into live music the way most of us are, so anything you guys hear about that you can clue me in on would be much appreciated. I'd love to hit up a venue or two in LA while I'm there.

She lived here for a few years and when she left she did an interview in the NYT calling it a hell hole with a bunch of meth and "social vampires" and hasn't played a show here since (this was about 6 years ago or so).

Me and my gf are planning to go weekend 2 this year. Haven't booked a hotel room or anything yet because we want to make sure we have tickets before we do that. Will it be too late to get a room immediately after I get the tickets (assuming I do)?
A suggestion for a Neko Case show. Stand close to the stage on the left side and ignore the singing and bad banter as much as possible. Her band has one of the greatest living steel/slide guitarist out there: Jon Rauhouse
