I was pretty sure that was the answer. I also forgot to say that tent camping was sold out for weekend one. We just got car camping.
Hey man, my buddy accidentally bought a tent camping pass for me under my account today (he was supposed to buy car camping). He ended up buying a car camping pass for our group, so I have an extra tent camping pass if you want it. Let me know.
Oh good idea. Making this a true vacation helped me a lot in getting the thumbs up. I've never been to Joshua Tree. I'll put that on the list.
I'm gonna be honest: I don't care about headliners, I want The Knife.
Joshua Tree is the bee's knees!
There is an awesome bar/music venue near there in a nostalgic middle of nowhere spot called Pioneertown. Sometimes really cool bands drop through there. I told myself that this year is the day I save for some Localchella shows.

Yes, that was the place! The food there is awesome and they have two areas for music (inside and outside). The indoor shows can get crowded, it's just a small dance floor surrounded by tables of people eating. But it's seriously such a one-of-a-kind venue. One moment you are winding up a mountain desert highway with NOTHING around you. Then all of a sudden--poof! You suddenly transport to this ghost town where this packed venue is nestled. I saw Heartless Bastards there last August.
Managed to snag weekend 1 and a car camping pass. Was in standby for the last 10 min of my drive to Nashville and while I was refueling the rental car. Just as I pulled into the garage to return my rental I ended up on the purchase page. It was quite stressful but successful.

got my tickets yesterday I'm so glad i wont have to worry about getting a ticket during the post lineup sale (got stuck in the waiting room for 2012 for 4 hours until tickets sold out). but now my excitement for the future lineup has increased 10 fold. since iv got another 8 months until i find out who ill be seeing that weekend iv been left to my thoughts and this is what iv come up with. best guesses for headliners 1) maybe another band new to the headliner role like My Morning Jacket, Foster the People or Fun. (if they come out with another album that is as successful as the last one) 2) a big name rock band that hasn't headlined (or at least not in a while) Foo Fighters, Coldplay, Pearl Jam, Depeche Mode, or tool 3) hopefully a big get or reunion band like Daft Punk, Outkast, the Smiths, White Strips. or a pop headliner like Justin Timberlake, Beyonce, or Lady Gaga. So what does everyone else think? who do you want/expect

Word is that they put all the passes on sale, and didn't reserve any specifically for spring. If they can sell out the whole allotment now, that's what will happen.
I can't believe there are people on this earth who actually hope for fun and Foster the People as headliners.
Depeche Mode and Timberlake are probably solid guesses.
No Sr. You have greatly misinterpreted me. I do NOT hope for Fun as a headliner (I wouldn't mind Foster the people as they did impress me at Roo last year. How ever certintly not my first choosing). My post was simple a list of bands that I think are posable headliners for next year based on previous coachella appearances (or lack there of) and expected touring /new albums/ probable escalation in popularity. Personally the acts I hope will headline are Daft Punk, White Stripes, and David Bowie. But that is very unrealistic so... I would be very please with My Morning Jacket, Pearl Jam, and Daft Punk as realistic headliners.

Foster the Poople isn't headlining, just like Mumford didn't. Coachella elevates bands that earn it. KoL and the Black Keys have over a decade of recording and several albums and appearances priot to their headlining slots. I'm not a huge fan of either, but they put in their dues. Mumford is automatically irrelevant for the mere fact that the lumineers exist. Foster the People and Fun. also.
inb4 bonnaroo has bpth unoppoaed. Theres a reason that happened in TN and not CA.
Macca was a game changer in 2009. there is no coup in booking himin 2014. Coachella's coup fhis year was blur/stone roses. Chili Peppers are an obvious back up. Daft Punk and JT are the only acts ican thi.k of, for 2014 that fit that bill.
