Been checking into flights. Thinking of flying in on Thursday. Any other folks plan to arrive early?
Yup. We should be arriving Thursday.
I like any opportunity to spend extra days in Asheville. if I could get away with it I would stay and travel to the pj show in Charlotte, but that's me dreaming.

Never been to Moog, but I always enjoy arriving to a fest a day before it starts. All the shenanigans that are going on with the anticipation of the fest is one thing I love about fests.
I'm glad that PJ is playing Dallas on 11/15...gives me a paycheck in between the fest and the show!!!
I may or may not be out. I'm downgrading myself to maybe leaning not going. Certain things need to happen in order for me to go, and who the hell knows right now.
Could have sworn I booked a double. Turns out a I booked a king. Oh well. Reservation stays. Still going. Still looking forward to partying with all of you.

I don't think we'd leave anyone out on the streets.
Is the DTI fully booked? If anyone is still hoping to get a room there, I would call once a week and ask if anything is available. I have done this before and scored rooms a couple weeks prior to the event.

It is fully booked, but I think it definitely pays to be persistent. Maybe even ask if they have a cancellation list.

Has anyone stayed outside of town near the mall before? How is traveling into town from there? I got a reservation there since the downtown inn is booked. Its about 2 miles from downtown and I do not want to be driving while enjoying the music and other things

I did a few years ago. Except it was even further down Tunnel Road. It didn't affect me in terms of missing shows or other things going on. I did happen to have Bonnie's parking pass at the DTI though, so that made things really good for me.
I wonder how people who were at the cabin were able to park downtown though.

In regards to LD's post, I was in the cabin he was referencing in '11. We carpooled down to Asheville before the music started and parked in one of the public lots. We never really had an issue finding one, and the cost was reasonable for all day parking. Historically, the music at MOEMS doesn't start until the late afternoon (4ish), so there is not as much of a time crunch trying to get there in time for shows to start. The only issue I could see happening is if they go the '11 and have more surprise shows that end up being in the earlier afternoon. For example, they had an in-store show from The Field at one of the Harvest Records. At that show, they tweeted they were giving away 5 passes to a Daytrotter session for The Naked and Famous the next day. The first 5 people to ask for them got them. If you were still up at the hotel, it would have been basically impossible to make it there in time.
LD, Abra is the social chair because she is by far the more social one of the two of us therefore she tends to plan more social things when it comes to things we do as a couple.
I have traveled up from Hendersonville each year and always park in one of the garages. I usually park in the garage in-between the orange peel and the Diana Worthem Theatre. I never have a problem finding a spot to park and the prices are usually 5 dollars.

I always stay outside of town. I have never had a problem getting into a public parking lot during the day. In '11 I spent most of the day time walking downtown. I got one of the secret show tickets for Moby's daytrotter session. Would be nice if they brought them back this year. Some of the public lots are free on weekends.

Word. Abra got one of the five passes to that Naked and Famous session I mentioned. She was the only one of the five that actually showed up, so the sessions consisted of her, the band, the two recording people and two AC intern/employees.
