If you wanna take over, Phi, that is cool! I called them tonight about getting a group rate discount set up. I was going to speak with the manager at 10 tomorrow morning, but since you already have a history with the place, know what you're talking about, maybe you should talk to him?
Dr. Patel cancelled Phi's room last year after Phi complained, so no, he is probably not the best person.
Ha! I forgot about that. And I was even very nice when I called to complain. Apparently complaining means you no longer want the room in Dr. Patel's eyes.
The only issue being that others have most likely reserved at DTI and requested certain floors, so it would be nearly impossible to get the ENTIRE thing to ourselves.

I do believe that if I'm able to get a block set up, establish a group name, the people who already made reservations can just call the hotel and tell them that they belong to the "Inforoo Group" and the hotel will apply the discount and assign the rooms accordingly.

I'll post tomorrow with what I find out.
I'd ask first who wants to be a part of the block before going ahead and doing it.
I like y'all, but I like quiet too. I'll go upstairs when I wanna party.
1. summerteeth214/Charlie 2. Going 3. DTI 4. Room booked. Sister will likely be rooming with me, but that's still TBD 5. Yes, I want to be on the Inforoo Party Block. (mountain side, preferably)

After seeing the lineup and mulling it over I am a most likely.
I went ahead and booked a room just to be safe, for Fri, Sat, and Sun nights (or should I have reserved Thurs, Fri, and Sat night? Crap. I didn't think, just booked...). I have no roommates at the moment because I literally just decided on this.
I feel like maybe it's been discussed in the other thread (sorry if it's also already been answered), but at what point do y'all think the hotel will fill up? I'm wondering if I should go ahead and just book a room, even though I haven't bought a ticket to the fest yet.
Edit: tickets aren't on sale yet, I was getting ahead of myself! I guess the question really is whether rooms will likely still be available in a couple of weeks?
Book now if you're on the fence. It will fill up soon and there is no upfront cost and no penalty if you decide you don't want the room anymore.
Also, if you decide not to go, you can even transfer the reservation to another inforooster. Lots of people did this last year and they were very accommodating about it

This. Last year, I transferred my booked room over to Bandeto and it was no problem at all.

So, I spoke with the DTI folks- it's a no go for the group rate. They want to make all the money they can, so no discounts. Ha ha. I tried.
But, once everyone has booked (which she said they are half full currently), I can call them back with a list of names who already have reservations, and they will do their best to put those who want to be close, together.
In other words, if you want to be in the Inforoo Party Block, just add that to your description. Does that work LD?
