Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
Couldn't you leave it parked on a decent, residential side-street for the weekend and just walk around?
You could park on Montford and walk into downtown. I've done that before for other events and no one seems to bother me. I imagine most people wouldn't know that and will try to park downtown. If you park downtown I would personally go to the parking garage near the orange peel and park on the roof. It's $5 for all day parking on Fridays/weekends.
Ok none of this sounds terrible. I'm so used to Miami and all the lots becoming $25 during ultra or other festivals
Im actually debating the VIP payment plan..it doesnt say anything about free drinks though (not that its a dealbreaker for me) - Exclusive entrance to U.S. Cellular Center
- Exclusive viewing areas in ExploreAsheville.com Arena and Thomas Wolfe Auditorium
- Jump the line status at The Orange Peel and The Asheville Music Hall*
- One year membership to Pulp
- Exclusive lounge in U.S. Cellular Center
- Exclusive party on Saturday night
Unless the "exclusive lounge" in US Cellular is what they mean
Looks like the verbiage is the same as last year.
Here is the info from a 2012 email.
Your VIP pass includes: Priority check-in Priority access to all venues* Exclusive entrance to U.S. Cellular Center and Thomas Wolfe Auditorium Exclusive viewing areas in U.S. Cellular Center, Thomas Wolfe Auditorium and The Orange Peel Exclusive lounge in the U.S. Cellular Center Exclusive party on Saturday, October 27th at the Asheville Art Museum Commemorative Moogfest 2012 merchandise package
*VIPs will be given priority access to all Moogfest venues, subject to capacity. Entry will be based on a first-come, first-served basis.
If booze is a make or break for you, I'd give the MOEMS people a call to clarify.
How late does the music go on Sunday? I was wondering if people will be checking out & going home on Sunday or Monday...
Also, for those who stayed at DTI last year, how strict are they on the # of people in your room? I noticed when I made my reservation that the price increased when I changed from 2 to 4 people. Will they allow you to have a bunch of people piled up in a room?
I could careless bout the booze its really the access to venues and merch. I never had a problem with any lines last year (maybe Im good at timing) but I think this year could be an issue

I think they charged us an extra $25 a night for the third person in our room last year. We were honest up front about it but We probably couldve got around it as they asked for IDs for everyone in the rooms but never actually checked IDs at anytime over the weekend.

crazykittensmile so was there free booze last year in the VIP lounge? Do you know, or does anybody know? Only reason the booze might be a make or break for me is because beers get expensive at the main venue as they pile up, so if I could grab a free beer between switching venues, then it makes more sense for me to get VIP anyway.

Yeah the merch package is legit, moreso than roo's, since it is the real festival poster & shirt (which I usually buy anyway, ~$70), not some shizzy boring ones. And the rest of the cost may be worth it just for the line skipping privileges.
And this year has to sell out (or I will have lost all remaining faith in humanity ) which means more lines.

Yes. Phi covered my VIP ticket, so I was in the lounge and saw free drinks happenin (people still tip, obviously). They had all the beers that were for sale outside, and also those delicious mixed moonshine drinks (Dolly Partonnnnns, wut wutttttt @ mayonaise).
The only catch to this is, you can't take the drinks outside of the lounge (for obvious reasons). The lounge was to the left of the regular bar/snacks area downstairs, so you have no view/sound of what's going on. But if you head in before/after a show, you're all set to throw back a few for free.
You may want to call MOEMS folks just to be SURE they are offering this again if it's a big selling point for you.
Also, I hate that the VIP party is Saturday night. Ain't nobody got time fo that!
What a lineup! I don't know when I'll be able to get there or how long I'be able to stay, but I'm willing to sacrifice/sell my tickets to some other stuff I have for what for me is a killer lineup. I'm looking at the SweetPeas hostel to save money. It actually looks kinda cool and I might meet some cool people. Has anyone ever stayed there? the pictures look nice.
Ah man I didn't even think of the not being able to leave the lounge thing. That sorta defeats the purpose.
There are ways around this, trust me.
Yea I definitely walked out with beer every damn time. There was a back exit that goes to a stairwell straight up to the top of Thomas Wolfe and there isnt any security at it so I would walk right out with beer. The exit that leads into the main venue has security, but I would just hide my beer, easy.

I've stayed there before, it's pretty quaint, I liked it. As long as you can sleep in an environment like that, you'll like it. The staff is super super friendly and accomodating, it's about the most you can expect from a hostel.

Please give us the level of quaint on the scale of 1 to 5 boners
Welcome back Bonz, but I do not find it strange that your presence being requested in the Orgy thread and then you showing up, like it was the quacking Bonzai Bat Signal.

I'm in as is my husband (he'll find out soon). We have a reservation at the DTI this year since we learned our lesson last year trying to find parking and driving to meet up with everyone. Our reservation is for Thursday-Monday, but it might change to just Friday-Monday depending on what is going on.
