After several revisions to my schedule, I'm now upset that im missing The xx to secure a good spot for Macca. This also means ill have to stand through Wilco, who I still havent been able to get into. Maybe they'll win me over.
Definitely LN Saturday. The Superjam/Billy Idol/"Weird Al" conflict SUCCCKKKSSS! Still not sure what I'm gonna end up doin'. Probably will come down to that moment in time.

If you get to catch wilco they just might win you over then. Their show was great in 09. I didn't know much about them when I saw them that year either

Gotta roll with Billy Idol. Watching his set in the streaming concerts thread. It's hitting the spot.
Wilco (3) vs. Jim James (JJ 0, MMJ 3) vs. the xx is obviously killer. Seen Wilco and MMJ a few times, but not JJ solo or the xx. Leaning towards Wilco anyway (love those guys), I'll be at the JJ Superjam anyway.
Portugal. the Man (1) vs. Lord Huron vs. Two Gallants is rough too. Leaning towards Lord Huron>Tallest Man on Earth (must see) for now.
Bjork vs. Cat Power vs. Beach House - I'll probably go Nas>1/2 of Cat Power>Bjork.
Tame Impala / the National (5) / Divine Fits / David Byrne & St. Vincent / Bluegrass Superjam is not a good time for me. I'm not really one for partial sets, but this might be the year I try it out. At any rate, Divine Fits is THE must-see for me on Sunday.

could be a blessing in disguise, Wilco puts on an amazing live show. I always recommend Yankee Hotel Foxtrot as a starting point, one of my favorite records, and my favorite album of the first decade of this millenium, just inches ahead of Kid A.
WTF AM I GONNA DO?!?!?!? Superjam vs. Idol vs. Weird Al
DAMNIT SO MUCH!! But I know what must be done... Wu Tang < ZZ Top Pretty Lights < Animal Collective
There are many other but these ^^^ particularly sting.
Every "Bro" is going to be at Pretty Lights or Porter Robinson so choosing Animal Collective was pretty easy. I know the crowd is going to be lovely and Animal Collective is going to put on a great show.

Yep. I was hoping to get some fun mindless late night oontz on at some point but that just ain't gonna happen this year.

After careful planning and whittling down of some sets I am left with these conflicts that can't be resolved: Django Django vs. Purity Ring Pretty Lights vs. Animal Collective Billy Idol vs. Weird Al
And the worst conflict of all: Bjork vs. Sunlight
That gets me down to one heartbreaker per day basically which hurts a little less than the initial shock and bewilderment of these scheduling decisions.
I like the suggestion that I've seen others post about switching Bjork and the Lumineers. I don't know how big her setup is, but I think if she's scheduled for daylight hours, it won't really matter much anyway. I would rather see a scaled down show at a later hour than just putting her at that slot because it's the only time they could fit her in behind the headliners.
Bjork daytime petition would gain way more traction than this. Conflicts happen and I don't think starting a petition for each one is going to get anything changed. But everyone can agree Bjork before M&S in the daylight is just ridiculous.
I agree that Bjork early is pretty lame. I like Mumford and Sons, but I think they should've switched the two, I'm not sure if Mumford really deserves the Saturday headliner slot, at least not yet. But at least Bjork is running unopposed for most of her set. I just felt like Jim James (and MMJ) and Wilco share a lot of the same fans (and are even touring together this summer), so having them at the same time made no sense. So I made the petition just to have a place where people can show Bonnaroo they wish they'd switch it up, instead of randomly complaining on Twitter and Facebook and stuff. I think the people at Bonnaroo are pretty cool and would care about what people think. Plus, they've changed schedules before. Unrelated, but I'm really wondering what's going on after Paul McCartney on That Tent. A glaring gap there, something exciting hopefully.
Signed it, doubt it makes a difference, but thanks for doing it anyway. Definately the worst conflict for me, and they do have very similar fanbases.
Just out of curiosity, is Bjork a vampire? Everyone is bitchin like her show will be a trainwreck in the daylight. If your a talented artist, you'll put on a good show regardless. If your a fan, just be glad if she doesn't conflict with someone else your dyin to see. I'd rather have Jim James moved to 10 am on Sunday if it meant I wouldn't have to choose between him and Wilco
No I'm a vampire that's why I want Björk moved to the night!
Got it. Those late night conflicts gotta be even more brutal for ya. It'll suck even more when they move her to late night and she plays the weekends only sunrise set. Encore or death?

If she got moved to LN and played a sunrise set I'd die of happiness
But Even switch with R Kelly or Lumineers would be so fantastic

I don't see Bjork switchin' stages at all. At this point I'm fairly certain both sides have agreed on the stage setup, necessities, and whatnot that will be needed. I could see maybe a half-hour shuffle of her set, but I think that is pretty unlikely.

I find myself in an unusual predicament, I was late hopping on board the roo train this year. Normally by now I have listened to at least 3-4 songs from every band on the lineup and know who I love and want to see. Well, because I've only listened to maybe 35% of the bands I didn't already know I'm not having too many conflicts..... This is the first time in seven years I've not been devastated by the schedule.
I am half tempted to not listen to the bands that conflict with my big sets.....but that goes against every fiber of my being!!! My favorite bands always end up being the bottom half of the lineup. I don't want to miss anyone, but I can't handle the heartbreak of conflicts.

What do I do?!?!?!
Check out the bands. My conflicts are awful this year, but I know that whatever I'm in the mood for there will be something I'm into at any given time.
Emoney serves more of a purpose than any of you, especially Nate, whose incessant, garbled ramblings are so mindless and pointless that I get depressed just seeing them.

Listen to more music! What if you like a band you haven't heard anything from more than you like the band you know and find out later? I think that would me devastating even more. I didn't catch doc Watson in 04 because I didn't know about him. Now he's past on to that great jam session in the sky! You should already have confidence in your must see acts. But if they get beat out they get beat out. Most of my schedule is locked and nothing would make me change it except for change to the schedule itself. I have a few openings but most of what I've selected is firm.
I don't understand why Bonnaroo scheduled Pretty Lights vs. Animal Collective vs. Porter Robinson. First off two are the same genre, and I feel most would enjoy both AnCo and some EDM. It sucks for me cause I've seen pretty lights twice already, but they will kill it on Which. So do I go to a tent for a new act?

I clicked on the schedule the other day with a massive sense of dread because there are so many exciting things on the lineup this year...and I was pleasantly surprised by how well it seems to work for me. The only conflict that really disappointed me was Of Monsters and Men vs Glen Hansard. Billy Idol vs Weird Al sucks too, but I usually seem to end up hopping around a bit late night anyway, so I suppose that's what I'll do.
I still have a LOT of education to do regarding this lineup, though - I delayed on it for a long time because I didn't want to get my hopes up until my Roo plans were more solid. So I'm sure when I start familiarizing myself with more artists, I'll have a lot more painful conflicts.

If Summerteeth doesn't do it for you, nothing will

Sunrise during "Declare Independence" sounds pretty incredible actually

Oh we're not doubting her capability of putting on a good show. We just really really really want to experience this in a late night slot

Not too many, but let's take a look:
Thursday: Japandroids/FJM/Alt-J/Allen Stone - Each of these overlaps half of their set with the band before, and these were four of my most-anticipated for Thursday. Japandroids and Allen Stone are the two top ones though, so I'll go with their full sets, and 30 minutes of FJM and Alt-J.
Allen Stone/Capital Cities/ALO - Like I said, I intend on seeing all of Allen Stone, but Capital Cities starts right after, and the On Top Lounge will be super packed, and I'm afraid of missing them. I'm not familiar with ALO, but I want to see more jam at Roo besides Gov't Mule, plus "special guests" sounds cool. Ideally, I'll do all of Stone, and hopefully all of Capital Cities, than catch the end of ALO.
Friday:
OMAM/Glen Hansard: Not up on Glen Hansard, but I've heard nothing but great things. I've seen OMAM already, but they were really great when I did, so I'd like to catch em again.
Wilco/The xx/Jim James/Conspirator: Thankfully, this one isn't too hard, since I saw The xx in February, and am seeing Conspirator and JJ at Hangout. Plus, I need a good spot for Macca, so I'll catch Wilco while waiting. The reason this conflict sucks is because I was REALLY hoping to catch The xx again, as they blew me away last time. I ran into this same problem last year, where I wanted to see Foster the People after previously seeing a great show, but had to camp for Radiohead.
PL/AnCo/Porter: Again, would be much worse if I hadn't seen PL and Porter already, but I did want to see PL on the Which. AnCo will be amazing though.
Saturday:
Nas/Dirty Projectors/Matt and Kim/Kyng: I'm not dying to see any in particular, but I would like to see each of them. I'll probably head to Nas after Gov't Mule finishes and head to Kyng from there (to get my metal fix).
R Kelly/Superjam/Billy Idol/Weird Al: Worst conflict I've ever had. Hopefully, I can catch Idol in ATL on the way to Roo, catch the first 30 of Kels, all of Weird Al, and the last 30 of Superjam. I'm trying to avoid splitting, but I need to see all of these. I was hoping to see Kels do I Believe I Can Fly though.
Sunday:
Action Bronson/Delta Rae/JTB: Again, not up on these, but I'd like to catch each. I'd see Delta Rae at Hangout, but I want to see Brassft Punk at the same time there.
Swans/Tame Impala/The National/DB+SV/Superjam/A$AP: Seems rough, but I think I can make it work. I'll probably watch Swans until Tame Impala, watch the beginning of the Superjam (like 30 minutes) and then head to finish DB+SV.
That Saturday LN is the only one that's gonna be rough to handle, so I'm happy.
