"The festival venue is spread over a beautiful, historical 4800 acre farm. Your camping location will be a short walk from the music! Free shuttles at regular intervals will be provided, easy walking paths are available."
But I get what you're saying. Honestly when I read they would provide shuttles and that they'd be free, I thought it sounded too good to be true.
The first year I did hang out they could not even make paid shuttles at regualr intervals work.

A friend of mine shared this with me. I don't know if she got it in an email, or what, she purchased the early tickets. None of the info is good news, except the possibility of forest camping. Thought I'd pass along...
1. If you already bought Car-Camping and have more than one tent, you'll need to buy additional Car-Camping passes for each tent. Because you've already bought the cost will remain at $20 for you for the next few weeks. This is not a money maker, it's a space killer, but we agree with the authorities, it will be safer.
2. Prices will go up tomorrow for the "new" Car-Campers. Again, if you've already bought Car-Camping prices remain at $20 per additional Car-Camping spot for the next few weeks.
3. If you already bought Day-Parking and are camping you can get a Tent-Only pass for free.
4. The two other Car Campsites are 1.25 miles at the very farthest from the Event Site.
5. Because of the traffic plan you will not be able to drop off camping supplies in Tent-Only, we're working on a shuttle and will post when we know more details.
6. Exact locations for Portojons, showers, etc., are still be determined, a more detailed map will be posted once we work through some of the bureaucracy.
7. If Forest Camping is permitted, you; the people who have already purchased, will be messaged and given the opportunity to EXCHANGE for that. Any Forest Camping not exchanged will be put on sale for $50.
8. Car-Camping prices go up tomorrow, we've compared with other Festivals and several charge far more, we've have a huge response to camping, thank you.
9. Ticket prices will be going up again before the end of the month.
I hope this is helpful and appreciate your patience and trust, we really hope you enjoy the show.

They posted this in the comments to the TO post on Facebook when everyone got confused and freaked out (myself included).
I went ahead with TO. I'd rather haul all my shit once than myself daily. And if that forested option comes up, I want first dibs.

The proximity of the car camping is the most disappointing bit of news. Not very into the idea of having a camping pass for each tent. It seems like one per car should be enough, I guess they are hoping people will "tent-pool" in order to save space.

If any good looking ladies want to "tent pool" please let me know.
It is starting to look like I might be traveling alone for this; my friends are waffling again. Anyone in Louisville or close enough to car/tent pool? I'm very low maintenance! But I'll just say that I've already had one crazy festi-mate this year, so my quota has been filled with Waka Even if I can't carpool with anyone, if you guys get a camp together, I would love to camp with you-all
Thursday: Camping opens at 9.00 am Performance area opens at 2.00 pm
Friday: Performance area opens at 11.00 am
Saturday: Performance area opens at 10.00 am
Sunday: Performance areas open at 11.00 am
Monday: Camping closes Monday by 2:00 pm
So when's everyone getting in line on Wednesday??? I'm doing car camping, and since it's the farthest away of all camping options, I want to make sure I get a prime spot.
ill probly get in line close to midnight wed. I really don't want to sleep in my car but its better than driving through the night or siting in line all day Thursday.. lets hope for some roo style early opening
I remember reading somewhere that the road to get to the festival is 2 lanes - 1 lane going one way, 1 lane going the opposite way. I really, really hope that's wrong because that would be a disaster!

Are you talking about Rt 29? It's 4 lanes.
I have no idea...I just thought I remembered reading somewhere around when the festival was announced that the main road to get there was 2 lanes. Hopefully I'm wrong!
one of my buddies has decided to go but now ill be needing another car camping pass. anybody know how to go about getting one at the original price? ive emailed musictoday, just waiting to hear back.
musictoday got back to me and told me to call 1-800-594-8499 and ask for the ticketing support team for further assistance. the girl I talked to asked where I heard about this and I told her when they announced the change in policy it said they would allow people to order another pass for the original price, had no problem getting it.
Can't remember if it was this board or another where someone speculated that this was a "one time thing." Well, I have good news for everyone, it sure isn't! From an interview with Peter Shapiro, the man running the fest, in Rolling Stone:
The festival is still a month away, but Shapiro is already thinking about next year. "I don't want to jinx it, though," he says. "But the way things are looking now, we're looking at the weekend after Labor Day in 2014."
"We're going to have two stages side-by-side," Shapiro says. "They'll basically be touching at a slight angle, so there's potential to pass the music onto the other guys. Maybe the guys in Furthur will end with 'Ripple' and pass it along to Neil Young, who might go into 'Heart of Gold.' That's just an idea, but I want the artists to have eye contact, and I don't want any pause between the sets."
